Sudetenland_Reichsgau_1944Paris, August 12 - High-ranking officials in countries such as Britain and France are openly siding with Palestinians against Israel in an effort to maintain political power by appealing to Muslim immigrants, recalling the pre-World-War-II days when appeasing the uncompromising demands of Nazi Germany was so successful in stemming Hitler's expansionist ambitions.
A coalition of left-wing and immigrant elements across Europe has unequivocally voiced demonization of Israel against the backdrop of recent fighting in the Gaza Strip between Hamas and the IDF. Israel has conducted artillery and airstrikes against Hamas fighters launching rockets at Israeli towns and attempting to infiltrate Israeli communities through tunnels, with the fighting taking the lives of nearly 2,000 Palestinians.
Though roughly half the death toll represents Hamas and allied militia members, the images of dead and injured civilians have aroused fierce anti-Israel passions around the world and prompting European leaders to condone, if not outright endorse, the outpouring of anti-Israel vitriol, in the hopes that siding with the Muslim population on the issue will render the establishment immune to the stated aim of Islamists in Europe to expand Muslim hegemony throughout the Continent and undermine the same liberal values ostensibly underlying the solidarity between the groups. As precedent, they cite the 1938 agreement to grant Hitler the Sudetenland region of Czechoslovakia, thereby satisfying his territorial ambitions and securing peace in Europe for that entire era.
"Our own history demonstrates the wisdom and prudence of this approach," said George Galloway, a British politician who has taken a staunch anti-Israel stance. "It was only when Europe stopped resisting Nazi Germany's rightful territorial claims that all the tension melted away and the continent enjoyed an unprecedented period of prosperity." He noted that just a few years later, American investment in Europe skyrocketed, highlighting the advantages and growth that await a Europe willing to sell out its liberal values for vague promise of avoiding further unrest.
