Diversity. Equity. Inclusion.

These are sacred concepts for progressives.

They also happen to be concepts roundly ignored by the Palestinian leadership.

And the aforementioned progressives don't really care.

Here is a photo from a PLO Executive Committee meeting presided over by Palestinian dictator Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday evening.

Not one woman. Not one man whose skin tone would make them a victim of discrimination anywhere.

Once upon a time, Hanan Ashrawi was a member of the committee. She resigned in 2020 - and was replaced by yet another white man.

EC members are not elected. They are effectively handpicked by Mahmoud Abbas to support his decisions, as he controls every single branch of Palestinian government.

None of this bothers the people who claim to care so much about diversity and inclusion.

Hanan Ashrawi tweeted:

Was Kamel an innocent bystander?

Of course not. He was a terrorist. He was throwing firebombs towards the IDF.

Hamas called him their "son" and created a martyr poster.

At his funeral his body was wrapped up in the flag of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.

It was carried by scores of gun-toting terrorists.

Hia brother whom he was named after was also a Hamas terrorist. He was killed while en route to a terror attack.

Hia father was also in Israeli prisons for terrorism.

So Kamel was a terrorist, from a terrorist family, killed while attacking Jews, and named after a brother who was also a terrorist killed while attacking Jews.

This is who Hanan Ashrawi mourns.

Some tweets are almost too outrageous to believe.

Hanan Ashrawi's Miftah NGO praises Dalal Mughrabi, the terrorist behind the Coastal Road Massacre which killed 13 children among its 38 victims, numerous times (see here, here, here where she is called a hero, here.)

Children have been literally targeted by Palestinian heroes, like 10 month old Shalhevet Pas, murdered by a sniper aiming specifically at her.

How hypocritical can you get?

(And as far as the minors in Israeli custody, 90% are over 16.)

Western media darling and PLO spokesperson Hanan Ashrawi was the guest at a webinar hosted by the Arab America site last Saturday.

According to the synopsis of the discussion, Ashrawi was in rare form with lie after lie:
Israel is still taking land, Ashrawi reported, and she cannot even travel from her hometown of Ramallah to Jerusalem.[1] She further insists that Israel expects to get its own way without any words spoken between the two entities, while most of the rest of the world’s nations want a negotiated settlement.[2] Ashrawi reminds us, in any case, that “negotiations are just a means to an end.” The United Nations must be the place where peace is made, she suggested since that’s where international law prevails.[3]

1. The decision of not being able to travel from Ramallah to Jerusalem is from an agreement that the PLO signed. Before the first Intifada, under "occupation,"  Jews and Palestinians both traveled freely throughout the Land of Israel. Restrictions only started with Palestinian violence. Imagine that.

2. Israel had sought a negotiated settlement since 1993. The Palestinians refused to negotiate and tried to push the entire issue to the anti-Israel UN to avoid any compromise for peace.

3. She here seems to admit that she doesn't want negotiations, and that the situation should be unilaterally decided by the UN. She contradicted herself and no one even cares.

The PLO has been spending lots of time talking with EU representatives, since the EU is now the only reliable partner it has.

It's message is a bit muddled, though.

Hanan Ashrawi met with the EU representative to the Palestinian Authority today where she told him that Palestinians were still the center of the universe - and that Israeli normalization with Arab countries could actually be a bad thing. Really.

Meanwhile, Saeb Erakat and leaders of Palestinian civil society groups met with EU funders in Ramallah to discuss EU laws that prohibit funding NGOs associated with known terror groups. Israeli groups like NGO Monitor have been exposing links between EU-funded NGOs and Palestinian terror groups, which has caused a curtailment of some funding.

Erakat wanted to work with the European NGOs to discuss joint action mechanisms to press the European Union to remove Palestinian political parties from list of terrorist groups, claiming that categorizing groups such as the PFLP as terrorist is a scheme by Zionist lobbies aimed at delegitimizing components of Palestinian society and targeting the Palestinian narrative. He wants to coordinate roles between the PLO and the anti-Israel European NGO funders to influence and change the European financing conditions for Palestinian civil society institutions.

Erakat stressed that he wants the group to reject any labeling of any Palestinian faction as terrorist. Presumably this includes Hamas and Islamic Jihad. He claimed that putting anti-terror conditions on these funds is "political blackmail to destroy the Palestinian national project."

One wonders how kindly the sympathetic EU will be to messages from the PLO that peace is bad and terror groups are legitimate.

On Saturday, tens of thousands of Christians gathered at the Washington Mall for Franklin Graham's Prayer March.

The people moved to seven different iconic locations, like the White House, the Lincolm Memorial, the World War II Memorial and the National Archives, with specific prayers at each stop.

None of the prayers were political.

One person noticed a superficial resemblance between the worshipers who gathered at the base of the Washington Monument and how Orthodox Jews pray at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, and tweeted this disparaging note, gathering thousands of retweets:

This  tweet is complete fiction. None of the Prayer March literature, either before or after the event, references the Kotel or even Israel in any way. The Washington Monument is simply the only "prayer point" where people could gather that has a flat wall where people could approach it directly for prayer.

Keep in mind that the tweet is insulting to Jews as well as evangelicals. Jews never call the Kotel the "Wailing Wall," a purely 20th Century British term, and that characterization is considered derogatory nowadays

None of this stopped PLO spokesperson Hanan Ashrawi from adding further insult to this lie, with a sarcastic tweet that moves from the antisemitic meme of Jews occupying the US government to calling the Washington Monument a "phallic symbol."

White supremacists often refer to Washington as the "Zionist occupied government," or ZOG, and Ashrawi can hardly be unaware of her use of the word "occupy" in this context.

And while it is hard to deny that the obelisk has been seen as a phallic symbol for centuries, and the Washington Monument is the world's largest obelisk, that was not its original meaning when used by the ancient Egyptians (unlike some explicitly phallic Greek architecture.)

Ashrawi in one tweet insults the United States and Jews while using a white supremacist dog-whistle.

San Francisco State University will be hosting a Zoom event called “Whose Narratives? Gender, Justice and Resistance: A Conversation with Leila Khaled,” on September 23.

Leila Khaled, of course, is the PFLP terrorist who hijacked planes in 1969 and 1970. Her image with a machine gun is ubiquitous at lots of leftist rallies.

The PFLP, which she is still involved with, was behind the murder of 17-year old Rina Shnerb last year.

But no progressive groups march with photos of Rina Shnerb. They fetishize female terrorists, not female Jewish victims of terror.

Khaled is not the only heroine of the progressive crowd. They love Rasmea Odeh, responsible for the murder of two people. Also a PFLP member, Odeh has admitted that she was involved in bombing attacks against civilians.  and fought to have photo-ops with her before she was deported from the US.

Odeh, a violent terrorist, was treated like a rock star by the supposedly anti-violent BDSers.

Palestinian "moderates" have been the originators of this mindset where female terrorists are role models. The Miftah NGO, which is headed by Hanan Ashrawi and is in the forefront of Palestinian feminism, has multiple articles in Arabic that praise female suicide bombers as role models - and they had English articles praising female suicide bombers as well before I exposed them.

Palestinian women have also participated in the resistance. As the conflict grew more intense and young men were recruited to carry out military operations against Israeli targets, several young women also decided to join the ranks of the resistance movement. In January 2002, 28-year-old nurse Wafa Idrees, detonated a bomb in Jerusalem’s Jaffa Street, killing one Israeli and injuring 150 others. She was also killed in the blast.

This marked the beginning of a string of Palestinian women dedicated to sacrificing their lives for the cause. Over the next two years, seven other women carried out similar operations, the most deadly of which was carried out by Hanadi Jaradat, a 29-year-old attorney from Jenin. Hanadi detonated explosives strapped to her body in a busy Haifa restaurant, killing 19 Israelis and injuring 50 others.
The "moderate" PLO has become a cult of sorts for Dalal Mughrabi, responsible for murdering 38 civilians. Numerous institutions are named after her and her likeness can be seen all over Palestinian towns.

And "moderate" Jordan has been sheltering another celebrity female terrorist, Ahlam Tamimi, who murdered 15 civilians including seven children

It appears that the "progressive" Left in the West has embraced the idea of female terrorists as role models. It is this immoral and disgusting thinking that is behind a university effectively honoring a terrorist as if she can teach students something about life, and behind prominent American and European progressives literally embracing a murderer.

Here’s a random paragraph by a random anti-Zionist Jew named Robert A. H. Cohen  from a random screed at Mondoweiss:

It’s impossible for even liberal Jewish supporters of Israel to recognise the structural and institutional racism they inhabit while they cling to the idea that only an exclusive Jewish sovereignty in Israel/Palestine can guarantee Jewish security. The longer this idea is treated as a universal law of nature rather than a sorely overrated political ideology, the longer it will take to recognise and then shed a racist mind set.

The key phrase is “exclusive Jewish sovereignty.” He cannot say “exclusive Jewish residency” because, obviously, Israel is 20% non-Jewish. So it is the “exclusive Jewish sovereignty” that is a problem.

But if that is true, then isn’t exclusive Muslim sovereignty an equally racist issue for the 57 Muslim majority states? Nearly all of them reference their Muslim character in their constitutions. Isn’t that a  “racist mind set” by the exact same criteria that are applies to Israel?

No, only Jews can be racist. Which means only Jews can be publicly insulted as being worse than other human beings. Which means that antisemitism is legitimate.

1_czrV1bMn3YQA5dZC9LmhqgJust to bring another example from today about Jews, Muslims and exclusivity, here is Hanan Ashrawi at the PLO website, also today:

Over the past two weeks, Israeli occupation authorities have banned dozens of Palestinians from access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, while facilitating provocative raids by illegal Israeli settlers into the Al-Aqsa Compound and providing protection for their infringements on the holy site.

…Jerusalem’s special status and centrality to world heritage must be protected from such hateful acts. Freedom of worship is also a fundamental right that must not be used as a tool of political repression and colonial aspirations.

She is saying that the Temple Mount must be an exclusively Muslim site, and Jews should be banned from visiting it even to peacefully stroll, let alone pray – while at the same time pretending to care about freedom of worship!  (She also calls all Jews, no matter where they live, “illegal Israeli settlers.”)

By the criteria of the Leftist self-defined anti-racists, isn’t that prima facie evidence of racism?

But the rule is, only Jews can be racists in the Middle East. Arabs cannot be even when they do worse than what the Jews are accused of (falsely, nearly always.)

Which is a modern justification for antisemitism.

The people who claim to be in the forefront against bigotry are the real bigots.

Earlier this week, Hanan Ashrawi of the PLO spoke to CAABU, the Council for Arab British Understanding. In front of her friendly audience she revealed her ugly hate and antisemitism yet again.

She described why the PLO has officially embraced non-violence.

Of course the Palestinians will resist. There is one thing that has been constant regardless of the degree of pain and victimization, the Palestinians have never accepted this enslavement, have never accepted to be held captive and they have always resisted using a variety of means. We have adopted the nonviolent or popular resistance as a means of resistance because, of course, the violent resistance is going to play into Israel’s hands but it also in many ways will not get to anywhere and we will get labeled as terrorists.

She doesn’t say that blowing up Jews is immoral or wrong. On the contrary, all means of “resistance” are valid, but for tactical reasons the PLO doesn’t want the world to know that it embraces terror so it has, for now, abandoned that method. Meaning, if tomorrow the political calculation changes, the PLO can easily move back into suicide bombing.

It is of course absurd to say that an organization that turns terrorists into heroes and that literally pays salaries to those whose only accomplishments in life were to kill Jews has embraced nonviolence. It is purely a result of the West’s disapproval that they have chosen to let Hamas and Islamic Jihad take the terror role at this time.

Ashrawi also discussed how she thinks that AIPAC instructed the Democratic candidates to withdraw from the race - of course, why else would they abandon campaigning except to obey their Jewish masters? -  and how, she says, AIPAC was behind Elizabeth Warren not endorsing Bernie Sanders.

We felt that for the first time there was the courage to stand up: to stand up to AIPAC,to stand up to all attempts at intimidation. And look what happened: when AIPAC decided to raise funds to stop Sanders, and they called it the “Stop Sanders movement,” and then they managed to get most of the other candidates to drop their candidacy, and to endorse Biden and then even Elizabeth Warren did not endorse Sanders she stayed silent, and sometimes silence is the recourse of the cowardly.

There are a lot of lies in this talk – pretending that a Palestinian state would be democratic and give equal rights to Jews and Christians, for example. But this one was so ridiculous it deserves to be highlighted:

In the Old City of Jerusalem the transformation of the character of the city by creating a forgery of the city, the negation of our own narrative our own history our own culture. Even the the settlements that they built, they steal the name of a village next to it so they can compete over the history! The settlements adopt the names and appropriate the names of ancient Palestinian villages and then they can say ‘we were there before.’

Those Jews, rebuilding the ancient Jewish quarter of Jerusalem, are “forging” the city. uh-huh.

And the settlements are taking the names of “ancient Palestinian villages”? Virtually every Jewish community takes its name from a Biblical source! It is the Palestinian towns that have stolen the Hebrew names, such as

Beit Jalla is the Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo, Jenin was Ein Ganim, Silwan was Shiloach, Selum was Shilo (one of the first capitals of ancient Israel), Tequa is Tekoa (the Prophet Amos’s hometown), Anata was Anatot (the Prophet Jeremiah’s hometown), Batir was Beitar,  Beitin was Beit El (as named by Jacob himself), Jaba was Geva, Mukhmas is Michmash (King Saul’s fortress), and El-Jib was Giv’on (where the sun stood still).

Not to mention that Jerusalem preceded “Al Quds,” Hebron and Kiryat Arba preceded “Al Khalil,” Shechem preceded “Nablus.”

Ashrawi is an antisemitic liar.

PLO Executive Committee member Hanan Ashrawi, head of the Miftah NGO that even today has pro-terror and antisemitic articles like "Jews poison Palestinian wells" and "Jews steal organs of children", is calling Israelis racist.

"The results of the Israeli elections were a clear expression of the spread of a culture of hatred, racism and extremism in Israel," she was paraphrased as saying by Palestinian media.

But she's not the only hypocrite who suddenly pretends to care about racism. A leader of the Islamic Jihad terror group likewise called Israelis racist. Dr. Muhammad al-Hindi, a member of the Political Bureau of Islamic Jihad, said that "racism is rampant in the state of the Zionist entity, where everyone is racing to annex the West Bank and brag about the numbers of martyrs they kill."

Projection much?

Saeb Erekat said, "Netanyahu chose to perpetuate the pillars of the conflict and the spiral of violence, extremism, chaos and bloodshed, and thus requires that the region and its peoples live with the sword."

Again, projection much?

The PFLP said, "The election results are a clear expression of the racist Zionist society."

It is interesting how much these terrorists, Jew-haters and inciters of terror sound exactly like the "progressive" groups when talking about Israel. Their talking points are pretty much identical.

Hanan Ashrawi tweeted:

As anyone who followed the case of Naam Issachar knows, she was caught with 9.5 grams of marijuana in her suitcase during a stopover in Russia coming from India to Israel. She had no access to her luggage in Russia, she couldn't have sold her small amount of pot if she wanted to.

Issachar is not a politician. She is just a naive, perhaps stupid, girl for taking the marihuana on the plane. But Ashrawi, by smearing her as a "drug smuggler," shows that she does not want to merely insult a girl - but an Israeli and a Jew. She wants to tell the world that Issachar is  guilty because she is Jewish - there is no other evidence of her being a smuggler.

Ashrawi, whose Miftah has pushed the blood libel and supported terrorists who kill Jews, has proven her hate for Jews yet again.

Back in 2009, I wrote a post that noted that Palestinian Arabs - including people the media calls "eyewitnesses" - lie. All the time.

It was after B'Tselem, admitting it could not verify the story, parroted an absurd claim that Israeli soldiers forced women in Gaza to line up to enter a house, and then shot the first one in the head.

I noted others:
September, 2008: "Eyewitnesses" reported seeing a settler shoot a boy at point blank range 20 times. It turns out he had been killed by a grenade, and no Israelis were involved.
July, 2008: A Hamas work accident levels a house and kills 7. "Eyewitnesses" said it was an Israeli airstrike.
June, 2008: "Eyewitnesses" say that Zionist settlers release wild pigs to destroy their crops.
February, 2008: "Eyewitnesses" reported that an explosion in the Bureij camp that killed 8 was caused by Israeli airstrikes, but it was an work accident.
Nothing has changed in eleven years.

Later in 2009, Palestinians claimed 40 civilians killed in a tank shell attack on an UNRWA school. In the end it was 9 Hamas members and three civilians.

In 2012, AFP reported that a supposed airstrike that killed a 15-year old boy never happened and he died when an explosive device he was carrying went off.

Kids killed by Hamas rockets that fell short have been routinely falsely blamed on Israel. Also, kids who died of pre-existing conditions had their deaths blamed on Israeli tear gas.

Even Amnesty International noticed that "eyewitness" claims by Palestinians are unreliable.

Over the past couple of days another insidious lie was publicized. An Arab child in Jerusalem went missing, and the family initially claimed he was kidnapped by Jews. They later recanted that claim but it was too late - social media pushed the lie and continued the lie after the boy's body was found, drowned.

Someone with no credentials at all named Seif Bitar tweeted the lie, where thousands of people retweeted it - including Hanan Ashrawi and Rashida Tlaib.

Bitar isn't a journalist. He isn't an official. He wasn't claiming to be an eyewitness. Yet his lie was swallowed whole and repeated by Palestinians in power in the PA and in the US.

Without a modicum of fact checking.

The only explanation is that Tlaib and Ashrawi want to believe the worst about Jews in Israel and they will uncritically accept even the most vicious lies that fit their antisemitic viewpoint.

It turns out that Bitar has been doing stuff like this for years. In 2018, he posted a video he claimed of Jews chasing a poor Palestinian woman, and said they beat her up later. I researched the incident and saw that it was a Palestinian woman with a knife  who stabbed one Israeli and was trying to stab more, and a crowd tried to keep her at bay until one managed to disarm her without firing a shot.

Just this past week we saw another Palestinian tweeter claim a photo of his "grandpa" that was really taken in Turkey. But that's just social media. Far worse is that official Palestinian media this past week claimed that Israel opens non-existent dams to flood Gaza, and that the Holocaust was not as bad as the Nakba. Those lies are not being reported by mainstream media and not being retracted.

This is only a tiny sample of Palestinian lies over the years, many by Mahmoud Abbas and Saeb Erekat directly.

Palestinians lie because of the honor/shame culture they live in where appearances are more important than the truth. Ordinary Palestinians are taught from birth that they must not tarnish their cause. Hell, we saw Arafat threaten reporters who broadcast Palestinians celebrating the 9/11 attacks on America. The cumulative lesson for Palestinians is to avoid shaming their leaders and their people at all costs.

The leaders themselves lie, knowingly, because they know they can get away with it. It is rare that mainstream Western media calls them out on their lies (here's one example, where Abbas was forced to walk back a blood libel.) And even when Western media is quite aware of the lies, they will keep quoting these Palestinian leaders with no caveat the next time, and the lies will be multiplied by anti-Zionists.

The truth is the only thing that any real peace can be based on. As long as their leaders are addicted to lying, nothing will change.

From Arutz-7:

The Jerusalem Municipal Council approved Tuesday night a plan to construct an educational campus for Education Ministry schools near the city's Arab Shuafat and Anata neighborhoods.

These schools will be an alternative to the UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency) schools which currently dominate the area.

The project will cost 7.1 million NIS ($2,055,617), and will be located in an area outside the pre-1967 borders but within Jerusalem's municipal borders.
Naturally, the response to giving Palestinian children a free education and new schools is being slammed as another proof of Israel's evil.

Hanan Ashrawi, member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), condemned on Thursday the announced plan of the Israeli municipality in occupied Jerusalem to replace UNRWA-run schools.

"The announced plan of the so-called Israeli municipality in occupied Jerusalem to replace UNRWA-run schools is an extension of the Israeli establishment's campaign of aggression against Palestinian rights and roots in the City,” Ashrawi said in a statement. “It is also an assault on multilateral institutions and international law.”

She continued, “This reprehensible plan also embodies the Israeli establishment's disdain for the United Nations, rejection of Palestinian rights, and illegal actions aimed at altering the historic, cultural, and demographic composition of occupied Jerusalem.”
Note that the original article says nothing about closing the UNRWA schools, but merely to provide an alternative. While I'm sure Israel wants to close the UNRWA schools that teach children to admire terrorists and to hate Jews, I am not sure that they can under existing agreements with the UN and UNRWA.

If this is true, then when Israel opens the schools, either some parents will want to take advantage of the Israeli curriculum - or they will be threatened to keep their kids in the underfunded and crowded UNRWA schools.

Of course, if UNRWA was truly an objective UN agency, given its budget woes it should welcome Israel offering to take over some of its functions - in fact, it should be pressuring Jordan and the Palestinian Authority to do the same for "refugees" who clearly aren't refugees under any definition. But UNRWA has long ago ceased to be useful and now it tries to stay self-perpetuating rather than the temporary agency it was meant to be.

Tomorrow is the UN-created "International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People" set up in 1977 specifically to be on the anniversary of the UN partition resolution that would have created a Palestinian Arab state if those same Palestinian people had not rejected it.

Hanan Ashrawi of the PLO, a person with more chutzpah than any Jew, said today that the UN system that has done more to legitimize the Palestinian national cause than anyone in the world did not give the Palestinians a minimum level of justice, encouraged extremist groups in "the State of Palestine" and the region in general, and provided Israel with "a cover to continue its crimes based on ethnic cleansing, forced displacement, apartheid and escalating settlement expansion." She also said the UN allows Israel to "practice fundamentalist Zionism and extremist colonial ideology."

Ashrawi also made a bizarre claim about the 1947 UN General Assembly resolution 181 I had not previously seen: "Although the partition resolution, which marks the beginning of the suffering of our people, gives the Security Council the right and the ability to take action against any dissenting party, it has repeatedly failed to exercise this right. "

The dissenting parties were the Arabs in Palestine and the entire Arab world, which attacked the Jews of the region within hours of the resolution being passed!

The resolution requested the Security Council to act in case anyone opposed the resolution's implementation - which is exactly what the Arabs did:
(b) The Security Council consider, if circumstances during the transitional period require such consideration, whether the situation in Palestine constitutes a threat to the peace. If it decides that such a threat exists, and in order to maintain international peace and security, the Security Council should supplement the authorization of the General Assembly by taking measures, under Articles 39 and 41 of the Charter, to empower the United Nations Commission, as provided in this resolution, to exercise in Palestine the functions which are assigned to it by this resolution;
(c) The Security Council determine as a threat to the peace, breach of the peace or act of aggression, in accordance with Article 39 of the Charter, any attempt to alter by force the settlement envisaged by this resolution;
Palestinian Arabs could have had a state if they hadn't decided to attack Palestinian Jews instead. If the Security Council is guilty of anything it is for not protecting the Jews - mostly civilians - who were attacked by the opponents of the resolution. Ashrawi's trying to claim that the Security Council didn't intervene on behalf  of the attackers and rejecters of UNGA 181 is perhaps a new low even for her.

As the Palestinians continue to go through the motions of planning for an election that will never happen - because Fatah and Hamas will never agree to how it should be done - the PLO is showing that the elections are really an excuse to wrest sovereignty away from Israel, specifically in Jerusalem.

I wrote about this last week, and events are showing it to be true. The PLO is in a full diplomatic offensive demanding that the nations of the world pressure Israel to allow Arabs to vote in Jerusalem.

PLO Executive Committee member Hanan Ashrawi on Wednesday met with the Slovenian representative to the PA as well as the British consul in Ramallah and she emphasized the importance of holding elections in Jerusalem. Ashrawi "called on Britain to support the elections and to intervene to make them successful and create the right conditions for them, especially in occupied Jerusalem," reports said.

She had a similar meeting on Monday with the Swiss envoy to Ramallah, making the same demands. She frames it as how important elections would be for unity and peace, but tells these diplomats that Israel is the obstacle to the elections because it won't allow them in Jerusalem.

Ashrawi has set the stage for demanding the international community pressure Israel on elections for at least a month.

She has reason to be optimistic. In 2006, after pressure from US President Bush, Israel agreed to allow Jerusalem Arabs to vote at post offices under Israeli police supervision. However, from Israel's perspective, the post offices were areas where Arabs could submit "absentee ballots" and not official polling stations.

Interestingly, most Jerusalem Arabs in 2006 traveled to Palestinian controlled areas to vote, only 6000 voted at Israeli post offices. The 2006 elections shows that voting can happen effectively without Jerusalem.

Obviously, if the elections were the important thing, the Jerusalem issue could be worked around - absentee ballots, allowing Arabs to travel to Areas A and B, or other technical solutions that could ensure any Arab who desires could vote. But the elections aren't what the PLO cares about - taking away any amount of Israeli sovereignty is its overarching goal.

Miftah, the NGO founded by Hanan Ashrawi and that is in the news for both is historic antisemitism and its offer to sponsor the Ilhan Omar/Rashida Tlaib aborted visit to "Palestine," still has many offensive and ahistorical articles on its site from over the years.

John Paul Pagano found another one, named "America's Tar Baby," (archived here), written by a humanities professor and conspiracy theorist named Clara Rising, where she says things like "Jews demand our complete submission" and finds justification for suicide bombing:

By what historical stranglehold do the Jews demand our complete submission to their unapologetic brutality to their Arab neighbors? From 1948 until the present year 2001—for half a century—they have chanted, like some mesmerized tribe in a jungle, the magic mantra of Security. Security from what? Yasser Arafat no longer has an army. He has no air force. No tanks. He is not bulldozing Israeli houses or invading neighborhoods with armed troops or firing from helicopter gunships. He has a desperate people who have produced suicide bombers, young men driven almost mad by the despair of living in a bottle like those drugged roaches—which is what the West Bank and Gaza have become.
The entire article is vile and filled with bizarre conspiracy theories, which is perhaps fitting, because the author had President Zachary Taylor exhumed to prove her theory that he was assissinated with poison. (Experts found no such evidence.)

Rising includes  number of debunked Zionist quotes, but I found this one interesting:
According to the Zionist agenda, Palestine would be just the first step toward a "Greater Israel," which would ultimately include Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and even Iraq. If this sounds preposterous, one need only go back to the beginning, in 1948, when the first prime minister of Israel, Ben-Gurion, addressed his General Staff. Confident—largely because of American money which had secured Israel’s military superiority—Ben-Gurion told them: "We should prepare to go over to the offensive with the aim of smashing Lebanon, Transjordan and Syria….When we…bomb Amman, we will eliminate Transjordan too, and then Syria will fall. If Egypt still dares to fight on, we shall bomb Port Said, Alexandria, and Cairo.
The entire paragraph is insane - remember, this is written after Israel had given up the Sinai to Egypt and much of the West Bank to the PLO - but who can even consider that Ben Gurion had designs on the entire Levant in 1948?

The quote comes from Noam Chomsky, in his 1983 book The Fateful Triangle, republished and updated a number of times since then:

Although the Chomsky book includes hundreds of footnotes, it provides none for this quote.

Every other place on the Internet that quotes this refers to Chomsky, not to any primary source.

It appears to have been a complete fabrication.

Which makes it perfect for an antisemitic professor to publish in the antisemitic Miftah.

John-Paul Pagano found this amazing article at Hanan Ashrawi's Miftah that claims Israel steals the organs of children.

Helping the victims of disasters has become now an occasion for launching public relations campaigns or achieving hidden political and military objectives. People still fall victim to earthquakes, disasters, occupation, oppression and terrorism. They also fall victim to campaigns which use their tragedy to achieve other purposes which have nothing to do with the value, importance, sanctity and dignity of human life.

After the Swedish journalist Donald Bostrom wrote about the Israeli army killing Palestinian youth in order to harvest their organs, there were other media reports about Israelis stealing Ukrainian children in order to harvest their organs. Once again there are documented reports from Haiti that organs are being stolen by Israelis without international justice intervening to put an end to such criminal practices against innocent vulnerable people.
The author, Bouthaina Shaaban, is a media adviser to Syrian dictator and mass murderer Bashar Assad.

Today, Peter Beinart defended Miftah and its head, Hanan Ashrawi, in a meltdown performance on CNN, pretending that there is no real problem with a group that publishes pure antisemitism sponsoring the trips of US members of Congress.

Rich Lowry asked Beinart, quite sensibly, whether Ashrawi should be held responsible for antisemitism and support for terror that has published many times. Beinart didn't answer that, even though any NGO would be held to a much higher standard than Miftah is.

Even funnier, Beinart went to Twitter to defend Miftah - and instead of linking to their fake apology for posting the original blood libel article I found, he linked to their attack on me that justified the blood libel article as just part of Palestinian "open dialogue."

The disclaimer at the opening of the “News and Analysis” section clearly states that, “The views represented in [News and Analysis] are solely those of their authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of MIFTAH, but rather fulfill its mandate for open dialogue.”
The entire reason Miftah justified the blood libel posting back in 2013 is because, to the people who work there, antisemitism is part and parcel of their lives.  Claims that Jews drink Christian blood, steal organs of Haitian and Ukranian kids and and control the media are what Palestinians are taught all the time. This is why they are so tone deaf to these articles - because they don't see anything wrong with them!

Hanan Ashrawi is of course responsible for how her NGO acts. People like Beinart who praise her in light of repeated outrages like this are clearly on the side of the antisemites.

Miftah is Hanan Ashrawi's organization that I have exposed in a series of articles between 2013 and 2016 as having published a blood libel, having consistently supported terrorism and praised terrorists, having published a neo-Nazi screed against Jews that is not about Israel at all, directly attacking Judaism, and for being against any kind of peace-building initiatives between Israel and the Arab world.

In the wake of Miftah's intention to sponsor Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar's trip to Israel, its history of antisemitism and support for terror is now being reported in the media.

This caused Miftah to issue a statement that screeches as if it is the victim, ignoring every single example of outrageous posts except the one it belatedly apologized for in 2013:

It has come to the attention of the Palestinian Initiative for the Promotion of Global Dialogue and Democracy, MIFTAH, that it is being targeted by extreme pro-Israeli hasbara groups and individuals who are propagating unfounded accusations and fabrications. We strongly condemn and reject these libelous allegations, which are nothing short of contemptible, against an organization that has been dedicated to global dialogue, good governance and democracy in Palestine for over 20 years. The example used as “evidence” of what is being called MIFTAH’s support for anti-Semitism was the result of a misstep by a junior staffer who inadvertently posted an outside article in Arabic on the organization’s website back in 2013 without having it reviewed. Once MIFTAH’s senior management became aware of the offensive article, they immediately removed it and issued an apology despite the fact that a disclaimer on its website clearly states that articles posted from other sources do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the organization. Nonetheless, a widespread smear campaign instigated and obsessively pursued by vicious hate-filled groups continued against MIFTAH and its founders. This hackneyed campaign is now being rehashed in an orchestrated manner with clear malicious intent.

MIFTAH is and has always been a respected organization both in Palestine and abroad and is known for its contributions to good governance, the empowerment of women and youth, to maintaining open, inclusive and democratic dialogue and to the exchange of ideas. We will not tolerate any attempts at the misrepresentation and defamation of MIFTAH’s good name.
Nothing is being misrepresented. Everything I have reported and is now being noticed is fully documented - and many of the posts are still on their site, today, including posts with fabricated quotes from Israeli leaders

So, Miftah, if you want to defend your neo-Nazi post or your praise for terrorists like Dalal Mughrabi, at least have the guts to defend them and not to pretend that these accusations aren't true. And if you are going to call me and others liars for posting your own articles, it just proves that you are the liars.

The most popular theory to explain why Israel did an about-face and decide not to allow Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar to visit is because President Trump tweeted that it would show "great weakness" on Israel's part:

I think that was definitely a factor. It may be disrespectful for Israel to not allow two members of Congress to visit, but it is even more disrespectful to go against the President. For better or for worse, Israel has to engage in realpolitik, and Trump has been using Israel as a wedge issue for Democrats quite successfully.

But things sometimes have multiple reasons. It was only reported a day or two ago that Tlaib and Omar would visit the Al Aqsa Mosque/Temple Mount, and that could easily ignite riots where people could be hurt or killed. To turn away someone because of their extreme views is one thing; to keep security is a whole different ballgame.

Also leaked today was the itinerary, which was to be partially sponsored by Miftah, Hanan Ashrawi's  NGO that has spread antisemitism both old and new: the blood libel, explicit support of terror and neo-Nazi literature.

Bibi Netanyahu gave his reasons for barring their entry, about 2 hours after Trump's tweet and while Trump probably was part of the equation, the itinerary was a factor:
No country in the world respects America and the American Congress more than the State of Israel.

As a free and vibrant democracy, Israel is open to critics and criticism with one exception: Israeli law prohibits the entry into Israel of those who call for and work to impose boycotts on Israel, as do other democracies that prohibit the entry of people who seek to harm the country.

In fact, in the past the US did this to an Israeli member of Knesset, as well as to other public figures from around the world.

Congresswomen Tlaib and Omar are leading activists in promoting the legislation of boycotts against Israel in the American Congress.

Only a few days ago, we received their itinerary for their visit in Israel, which revealed that they planned a visit whose sole objective is to strengthen the boycott against us and deny Israel’s legitimacy.

For instance: they listed the destination of their trip as Palestine and not Israel, and unlike all Democratic and Republican members of Congress who have visited Israel, they did not request to meet any Israeli officials, either from the government or the opposition.

A week ago, Israel warmly welcomed some 70 Democratic and Republican members of Congress, who expressed broad bipartisan support for Israel, which was also demonstrated a month ago in a resounding bipartisan vote against BDS in Congress.

However, the itinerary of the two Congresswomen reveals that the sole purpose of their visit is to harm Israel and increase incitement against it.

In addition, the organization that is funding their trip is Miftah, which is an avid supporter of BDS, and among whose members are those who have expressed support for terrorism against Israel.
Therefore, the minister of interior has decided not to allow their visit, and I, as prime minister, support his decision.

Nonetheless, if Congresswoman Tlaib submits a humanitarian request to visit her relatives, the minister of interior has announced that he will consider her request on the condition that she pledges not to act to promote boycotts against Israel during her visit.
The reasons I gave last month to allow the pair to visit was contingent on Israel setting up an itinerary and pushing it ahead of time, letting them reject it. This itinerary which doesn't even mention Israel shows that the opportunity was lost. Israel looks bad either way, but this way it only looks bad for a day instead of four days of incitement. And the Miftah angle is big: Miftah has been so bad over the years, and my tweets about it have been so popular,  that there will probably be some media attention given to the organization tomorrow (if something similar happened on the Right it would be wall to wall coverage, of course.)

The itinerary is interesting for another reason. The pair weren't even planning to visit the PA president or prime minister. Terrorist supporters and BDS advocates consider the PA to be collaborators with Israel - and these two members of Congress are so extreme, they not only don't recognize Israel but also the Palestinian Authority. Even the AIPAC congressional group visited PA government officials.

That, by itself, shows how extreme and hateful Tlaib and Omar are.

Meanwhile, I love the irony that BDSers are now advocating that these two should visit Israel.

PLO official Hanan Ashrawi tweeted that she has been denied a visa request to visit the US.

I don't think she was rejected for being a grandmother.

Here are some possible reasons the US chose to reject her application:

- She has supported the Palestinian Authority paying terrorist salaries, calling it "social assistance to thousands of families permanently scarred by its illegal policy of mass incarceration and unchecked violence against Palestinians."

- At the outbreak of the second intifada, she expressed support for the terror spree, saying "The only language Sharon understands is the language of violence."

- In 2000, she justified the murder of Jewish civilians in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and Gaza, saying, "In a sense, the army of occupation and the settlers have become legitimate and select targets of Palestinian resistance."

- Her NGO "Miftah" has published articles accusing Jews of the blood libel, and even after I exposed its support for antisemitism and terror it still, today, has articles that praise Palestinian female suicide bombers and other terrorists. Before being cleansed it had articles directly supporting suicide bombings.

- In 1995, she said in a speech that no "foreigners" (meaning Jews) should be allowed to immigrate to Israel.

- She has said that allowing Jews to peacefully visit the Temple Mount is a "declaration of war against Islam." (She is Christian.)

-Ashrawi rejects free speech, saying it should be prohibited to "defame" UNRWA.

-The PLO has rejected any talks with the US and even rejects accepting money. Why should the US not treat PLO members the same way?
