Israeli envoy slams UN official: ‘Don’t forget to wash babies’ blood off your hands’
Israeli Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan on Saturday slammed UN special coordinator for the Middle East Tor Wennesland for meeting with the foreign minister of Iran, and said he was cutting ties with the official.Hanegbi: Israel won’t negotiate with Hamas on hostages now, will remove it from power
“Don’t forget to wash the blood of Israeli babies off your hands after that handshake,” said Erdan, sharing a photo of Wennesland shaking hands with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian earlier in the day.
“Tor Wennesland not only met with the Iranian regime’s FM, but didn’t even bother condemning Iran for its role in the massacre of Israeli women and children,” Erdan wrote on X. “It’s no secret that Hamas terrorists are openly praising Iran for funding, arming, and training them.”
“The UN’s support for and legitimization of genocidal terrorists is a threat to civilization!” he added.
“I am officially announcing the severance of my ties with Wennesland until he publicly condemns the Iranian regime of murder and terrorism.”
Israel and the US have not directly accused Tehran of being behind the Hamas-led October 7 onslaught that killed over 1,300 Israelis, the majority of them civilians, and led to the abduction of up to 200 more. But Hamas is funded by and cooperates closely with Iran in its efforts against Israel.
National Security Council head Tzachi Hanegbi said on Saturday that there are no active negotiation efforts underway by Israel to repatriate the Israelis and some other foreign nationals kidnapped by Hamas last Saturday, saying “there is no way right now to have a negotiation” with the terror organization.
“Israel will not hold negotiations with an enemy that we have vowed to wipe from the face of the earth,” he said, briefing reporters at the Israel Defense Force’s Tel Aviv headquarters.
His comments prompted fury from the families of the missing, with their spokesman accusing the government of abandoning them.
There are thought to be 150-200 hostages being held by Gaza terror groups.
Hanegbi also stated that the cabinet’s war goal is to remove the Hamas terror group from military and political control over the Gaza Strip, but declined to elaborate on planned next steps for the coastal enclave.
And he acknowledged that “the State of Israel did not fulfill its mission” to protect its citizens from the devastating Hamas onslaught, in which some 1,500-2,000 Hamas gunmen poured into Israel having blown up sections of the border fence and massacred over 1,300 Israelis, most of them civilians, at 22 communities and about a dozen IDF bases and posts.
Confirming that some 150-200 hostages, the vast majority of them Israeli, are being held in the Gaza Strip, Hanegbi said that the government, eight days after their capture, still does not know who they all are and their status.
He said that the government’s liaison for hostages, Gal Hirsch, updates Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “a few times a day.”
Caroline Glick: Hamas’s deception—and our self-deception
Last Sunday, senior Hamas terrorist Ali Baraka told the tale of how Hamas duped Israel and the U.S. into complacency. The Caroline Glick Show : ISRAEL AT WAR WEEK 1 The War for Jewish Survival
In an interview with RT (formerly Russia Today), Baraka said, “In the past couple of years, Hamas has adopted a ‘rational’ approach. It did not go into any war and did not join Islamic Jihad in its recent battle, [i.e., its missile assault on Israel in August 2022].
“We made them think Hamas was busy with governing Gaza, and that it wanted to focus on the 2.5 million Palestinians [there] and had abandoned the resistance altogether. All the while, under the table, Hamas was preparing for this big attack.”
In other words, Hamas pretended it was a credible partner for negotiations, and that the only problem was Palestinian Islamic Jihad, its Iranian-founded spin-off.
One of the frustrating aspects of Baraka’s admission is that there was nothing new about Hamas’s deception. Deception is an integral part of the jihadist doctrine, going back to the days of Muhammad. Just as important, and frustratingly, even those who are unaware of—or willfully blind to—the centrality of Islamic jihadist doctrine and beliefs for Hamas, should still have been familiar with Hamas’s tactic.
It comes right out of the PLO’s playbook.
Five days after Hamas’s slaughter of more than 1,300 Jews in southern Israel, and on the eve of his meeting Friday in Amman with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, P.A. chairman and PLO/Fatah chief Mahmoud Abbas released a statement.
“We reject the practices of killing civilians or abusing them on both sides because they contravene morals, religion and international law.”
Abbas’s statement is notable for many reasons. It doesn’t name Hamas. It draws a moral equivalence between Israel’s counterattack in Gaza and Hamas’s orgiastic rape, torture, murder, immolation and kidnapping of babies, children, women and men. And it came after five days in which Abbas and the rest of Palestinian society did nothing but celebrate and defend Hamas’s atrocities while blaming Israel for the crimes against humanity Hamas conducted against its people.
In his speech on Oct. 10, President Joe Biden intimated that Hamas isn’t representative of the aspirations of the Palestinians. In his words, “Hamas does not stand for the Palestinian people’s right to dignity and self-determination.”
The subtext was clear. Hamas is the bad guy. The Palestinian Authority is the good guy. And if that weren’t apparent as Biden spoke, Blinken’s decision to meet with Abbas made the point explicit.
As Jews worldwide are threatened by Hamas supporters, Caroline discusses the purpose of Israel and its role in the survival of the Jewish people in Israel and worldwide.
Jonathan Tobin: Decent liberals may do more harm than pro-Hamas demonstrators
The aftermath of the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks on Israel was a wake-up call for a lot of Jewish liberals. It’s not just that they, along with the rest of the world, were shocked by the depravity of the terrorist assault, which left more than 1,300 Israelis dead, thousands wounded, and approximately 150 believed to have been kidnapped and taken to Gaza. The appalling evidence of rapes and mass killings of men, women and children, including the burning and the beheading of infants is almost beyond comprehension. But for political progressives, the fact that some were cheering for Hamas was a bridge too far even for those who have always preferred to see no enemies on the left.International Reactions to the Hamas Attack on Israel
The existence of a pro-Hamas wing of the progressive movement is a stain on the honor of the political left that shouldn’t be ignored or downplayed. It illustrates not just the indecency of those taking this stand but demonstrates the consequences of the rise of toxic ideologies like intersectionality and critical race theory in which Jews and Israelis are mischaracterized as, by definition, white oppressors of Palestinian people of color.
Conservatives who have been pointing out that woke ideas like the diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) catechism enable antisemitism already had plenty of proof to back up their conclusions. But the spectacle of pro-Hamas activism in American streets—and especially on the campuses of elite universities like Harvard and Columbia, which has led directly to threats and acts of violence against Jews—has established beyond any doubt the intersectional left’s embrace of a form of Jew-hatred that is indistinguishable from that of the Nazis.
As outraged as I am about the moral bankruptcy of these progressives, I don’t view them as the primary threat to Israel in the West. Just now, I’m far more worried about the behavior and comments of decent liberals than their more radical erstwhile allies.
By that I mean those figures who have expressed their revulsion at Hamas’s actions and denounced the support the terrorists have gotten from the progressives, but who, unlike President Joe Biden, don’t add a “full stop” to their support of Israel. The loud chorus of corporate media talking heads and pundits, both Jewish and non-Jewish, who are treating Israel’s efforts to put an end to this deadly threat as morally dubious may not be as despicable as those openly approving of the mass killing of Jews. However, it is those avatars of a “decent left” that treat the Israeli counter-offensive aimed at hopefully eliminating Hamas as also wrong who wield far more influence and do a great deal more damage to the existential struggle to defend the Jewish state than the ones who react to images of murdered Jewish babies with cries of “Free Palestine.”
These supposedly good people don’t merely virtue signal their anguish about Palestinian casualties as well as those of Israelis. Instead, they assert a degree of moral equivalence between the efforts of the Israel Defense Forces to take out terrorists and the crimes of Hamas. They denigrate advocacy for the complete defeat of Hamas as not merely futile but wrong since they claim that the taking of life on both sides should be denounced, regardless of the circumstances.
It is hard to ignore the mobs in New York’s Times Square howling for the shedding of Jewish blood. Yet it is unlikely that anyone in the Biden administration, even those mid-level staffers most hostile to Israel, is paying much attention to them. But the op-ed columnists working at The New York Times just a few blocks away—right now writing pieces urging opposition to Israel’s counter-offensive and calling for international pressure on the Jewish state that will essentially leave the murderers in place and triumphant when the shooting stops—are the real problem.
At least forty-four nations have condemned Hamas and decried its tactics as terrorism, but regional players such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Syria, and Iraq have pinned responsibility on Israel.
The surprise air, land, and sea attack led by the Palestinian Islamist terrorist group Hamas on Saturday, October 7, 2023, has thus far killed more than one thousand Israelis and injured more than three thousand. It represents the largest number of Jews killed in a single day since the Holocaust, and currently ranks as the third-deadliest terrorist attack of all time, exceeded only by Islamic State massacres and the 9/11 attacks. On October 8, Israel declared a state of war for the first time since 1973 and has engaged in a bombing campaign targeting the Gaza Strip, with a ground invasion soon to follow. To date, the Hamas-run Ministry of Health in Gaza reports that 1,100 Palestinians have been killed and more than 5,340 injured inside the Strip, while Israeli media has reported as many as 1,500 bodies of terrorists recovered from the “envelope” of Israeli communities along the border with Gaza. More than 75 of the confirmed dead in Israel are foreign nationals, including 22 from the United States, 17 from Britain, 18 from Thailand, 10 from Nepal, 10 from France, 7 from Argentina, and many others. Israeli media reports roughly 150 hostages are being held in Gaza by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, including an unconfirmed number of Americans and other foreign nationals.
Around the globe, representatives of approximately a hundred countries have reacted to the war in varying ways. At least forty-four nations have publicly expressed their unequivocal condemnation of Hamas and explicitly decried its tactics as terrorism. Others, including regional players such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Syria, and Iraq, have placed responsibility on Israel for the attacks. Approximately twenty countries have explicitly stated that Israel has the right to defend itself, while others have called for an immediate de-escalation of violence.
Over the weekend, several countries altered their initial statements as details of the attack unfolded. The UAE, Bahrain, and China all modified their primary statements to include explicit condemnation of the killing and kidnapping of Israeli civilians. The UAE and Bahrain also revised their initial statements to specifically condemn Hamas.
Victor Rosenthal: Good morning, International Community
Good morning, International Community.Ron Prosor: Hamas is ISIS: Today it is Israel – who’s next?
I understand that the Secretary-General of your “United Nations” is distressed about a possible humanitarian crisis in the Gaza strip. “I urge all sides and the relevant parties to allow United Nations access to deliver urgent humanitarian assistance to Palestinian civilians trapped and helpless in the Gaza Strip,” said Antonio Guterres yesterday.
No, you will not be allowed access. You are advised to prepare to receive a flow of refugees at the Egyptian border, where you will need to provide food and shelter for them, as well as transportation to any country that will receive them. They will not be returning to Gaza.
You will be responsible for them, because you are directly responsible for the creation of the cultural pathology that gave rise to the outburst of pure evil that occurred last week. You are the reason that the displacement of a relatively small number of Arabs from Eretz Yisrael in 1948 was turned into a permanent and exponentially growing population dependent on the international dole and a festering sore of the most vicious hatred and terrorism.
While the millions of refugees created by WWII and the Holocaust, the breakup of the European empires, and the almost total expulsion of Jews from the Arab world were all absorbed in one fashion or another, this particular group of Arabs was encouraged by “humanitarian” policies to grow larger. Host countries (Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon) applied true apartheid policies to them in order to prevent assimilation and to keep the pot of hatred boiling. No other “refugee” population exists for whom refugee status is hereditary. You paid for their food and healthcare, while accepting the idea that millions must “return” to a place from which a few hundred thousand fled 75 years ago. You paid for their “education,” while allowing it to become indoctrination in irredentism.
What did you expect to happen, International Community?
Over the past 18 years, the residents of Gaza have nurtured and sustained the Hamas monster, which has, in turn, redirected all resources toward a military effort with the objective of obliterating Israel, neglecting the development and welfare of the Strip. The proponents of Hamas in the Gaza Strip do not advocate for democracy or civil liberties. Their credo is not grounded in dialogue and compromise but enforces their obscurantist approach through violence and terror. Even now, while the IDF advises Gaza residents to leave their homes to avoid harm, Hamas cynically uses them as human shields, instructing them to remain in place.John Podhoretz: The Story of an Israeli at War
The majority of the terrorists who took part in the atrocities on Saturday were in their early twenties, having been raised over the past 18 years under Hamas rule in the Gaza Strip. Their upbringing in the environment of schools, mosques and social institutions overseen by Hamas exposed them consistently to persistent incitement to murder Jews and Israelis. This included the promotion of terrorism, glorification of terrorists and the financial incentivization of assailants and their families.
Images from Gaza frequently depict citizens vocally expressing their jubilation and handing out sweets following attacks against Israelis. Even in recent days, numerous Gazans visibly celebrated barbaric crimes and participated in the public humiliation of captive Jews in the streets of Gaza. Infuriatingly, we also witnessed similar scenes in Berlin and other European cities - demonstrations by Palestinians celebrating the massacre of Jews.
Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, with the support of Iran's Ayatollah regime, instigated this war and forced it upon Israel. Israel possesses full legitimacy in responding in self-defense and protecting its citizens in the face of the barbaric aggression of enemies who openly seek to annihilate us. We have no other choice but to triumph in this war, fighting the monster and dealing with it in the same uncompromising manner in which the Free World fought and vanquished the Islamic State.
Today, it is Israeli victims, entire families and communities, who must rebuild from the ashes. However, as we have seen, radical Islamist terrorism does not recognize geographic boundaries. Today it's Israel. And tomorrow?
Now it is 2023. Alon has two kids, though he is now divorced. He lives in the middle of Israel and is making a go of it in high tech, doing something that, for the life of me, I cannot understand, even though he has explained it to me, and his mother has tried to explain it to me. He has a “deck.” That I know.BORIS JOHNSON: Having worked on a kibbutz, I wept over the slaughter in Israel. But there IS one chance for peace that would make Hamas irrelevant...
Consider Alon’s life—oh, and I forgot one detail. When he was a baby, his older brother reported to his mother that there was something “sparking” on the oil tank under the stairs of their apartment building. She called the cops. Presumably a worker traveling into Jerusalem from the West Bank had gotten off a bus, taken a device out of a backpack, and stashed it on top of the gas tank. It was a bomb. It was also a dud. But that was just dumb luck.
So, now, again, consider Alon’s life. In Jerusalem, where he spent the first 18 years of his life, he endured rocket fire from Iraq as a five-year-old—Iraq, which was engaged in war not with Israel but with a U.S.-led coalition of 42 countries, not one of them called “Israel.” At 15, men were strapping bombs to themselves and blowing themselves up near his home, seeking to take as many Jews with them as possible—after Israel offered their leaders a state of their own. Twice.
At 19, Alon was deployed to Gaza, where he guarded Jews from being torn apart for the crime of living in a place his country hadn’t even wanted to occupy. At 20, he cried as he forcibly removed some of those Jews from those homes. At 28, Gaza attacked Israel and he was forced to spend a month in combat in a tank. And now, here we are, in 2023. He has been called up yet again. I don’t know what this will mean. I suspect, given his experience, he will go into Gaza again. That will mean this 38-year-old man will have been a soldier, in Gaza, over each of the past three decades.
Not one hair on the head of a Gazan civilian did Alon disturb. Not one Palestinian suicide bomber did he offend to cause the crime. Not one rocket has his nation fired first at Gaza. Not one baby in Gaza has been beheaded by an Israeli. He is an Israeli, and they want to kill him, and they keep trying to kill him, and his mother, and his father, and his siblings, and his children. And all Israelis, and all Jews.
The other week he sat with his kids and took a little film clip of them giggling while they watched Charlie Chaplin in Modern Times. His start-up does something involving network security. He would like to show you his deck. He’s very smart, so I’m sure it’s very brilliant.
His life is a blessing. His country is a blessing. The evil that wishes to obliterate him must instead be obliterated. Alon is my nephew.
When I saw the murder of those 260 revellers at the Nova music festival, I wept — as any father would — because those kids could have been yours or mine.AYAAN HIRSI ALI: I was raised to curse Israel and pray for the destruction of Jews, writes AYAAN HIRSI ALI... That’s why I know all too well Hamas is another ISIS – whatever useful idiots in the West say
When I saw what Hamas did at Kibbutz Kfar Aza and elsewhere, my mind went back to the time I was working on a kibbutz in Galilee — and I thought how utterly defenceless we were, how innocently we went out to pick apples or dig ditches, because we were in exactly the same state of mind as those Israelis who were living near Gaza last Saturday.
We knew there could be trouble; we knew that there was a risk of missile attack. But we believed that the Israel Defense Forces were the most vigilant in the world, and that Israeli intelligence was more than capable of alerting us to any danger.
So when I think of the massacre that took place a week ago, I understand the shock of the Israeli people. I share their rage. Israel is morally entitled — even obliged — to eliminate those responsible, to make sure such a thing as the October Massacre never happens again.
This is not because I hunger for some Old Testament revenge, an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.
Israel must act because that country has been attacked with a mercilessness we have not seen since its foundation in 1948.
Israel must act because it is vital that we dismantle the Hamas machine, and restore confidence in the Israeli security services and in the military.
Useful idiots on the far-Left in Western countries, who blindly support Hamas because they see it as a freedom-fighting group, harm the very people they claim to defend.
They say they want peace —and perhaps many of them do. But real peace talks based on the 2020 Abraham Accords between Israel and Arab countries have made painstaking but undeniable progress despite the efforts of Hamas.
Until Hamas's recent attacks, Saudi Arabia and Israel had looked set to normalise relations. This murderous incursion was an attempt to derail such talks — and thus ruin any chance of lasting peace.
Ordinary Palestinians want to build a prosperous, functioning society. Hamas, in its obsession with annihilating Israel, doesn't care about that. It wishes only to bring about a genocidal Islamist dystopia.
It is Hamas, after all, that holds Palestinians hostage in Gaza, setting up military installations in — and launching rockets from — civilian areas in the full knowledge that counterstrikes will kill innocent people.
It is Hamas that impoverishes Palestinians by stealing humanitarian aid to fund its terror. This is what 'by any means necessary' truly signifies: supreme callousness towards Palestinian life.
If you genuinely want to see peace between Israelis and Palestinians, or more generally between Muslims and Jews in the Middle East, then Hamas should be your enemy.
And even if — like many in the West, as we can now see — you don't care at all about Israeli or Jewish lives, even if you care only about the lives of Palestinians, Hamas is still your enemy. After all, Hamas ruthlessly persecutes any Palestinians who disagree with it: a 2022 U.S. State Department report found that, among other abuses, Hamas detained and assaulted critical journalists.
It is especially hostile to public figures associated with its rival Fatah, the Palestinian party voted out of office in Gaza in 2006, but which still runs the West Bank.
Hamas harasses its own dissidents, and has invaded the home of at least one young critical activist, telling his parents to keep their son under control — or else.
As a Dutch MP in 2004 and 2005, I travelled to the West Bank and met Palestinians.
In public, they spouted all the usual lines about Israel being their 'oppressor'. But once the cameras were switched off, they spoke more truthfully.

Israel Defense spokesperson discusses plan to 'totally dismantle' Hamas
Israel Defense Forces International Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Conricus has elaborated on the aim of the Israeli campaign to "totally dismantle" Hamas and its military capability.
"Hamas are bloodthirsty beasts who crossed into Israel, murdered and executed our civilians and took our people hostage," he said.
Mr Conricus spoke to Sky News Australia about the latest unfolding events being seen amid the ongoing conflict.
"The aim of our campaign is to totally dismantle Hamas and its military capability," he said.
"So, at the end of this war when everything is said and done, Hamas will not have the ability to kill or hurt or threaten Israeli citizens ever again.
"Not from the Gaza Strip and not from anywhere else."

Call Me Back: The October Massacre changes… Everything – with Elliott Abrams
In this episode with Elliott Abrams, we provide additional detail on the history of Israel-Gaza/Hamas — this time from a White House insider on U.S.-Middle East policy during a critical period in Hamas’s takeover of Gaza — what were leaders in Washington and Jerusalem thinking at the time? The Spectator: Gaza invasion looms: what will Israel do next?
Elliott takes us into the Situation Room: What did they get right and what did they get wrong? This part of the discussion is a good complement to our conversation last week with Jonathan Schanzer on this history of Hamas.
Elliott also considers all that has changed for Israel, the region (especially the Sunni Gulf and Iran), and the Diaspora-Israel relationship as a result of this war.
Elliott is senior fellow for Middle Eastern studies at the Council on Foreign Relations. He served as deputy national security advisor in the administration of President George W. Bush, where he supervised U.S. policy in the Middle East for the White House, and as Special Representative for Iran and Venezuela in the administration of Donald Trump.
Elliott was educated at Harvard College, the London School of Economics, and Harvard Law School. After serving on the staffs of Senators Henry M. Jackson and Daniel P. Moynihan, he was an assistant secretary of state in the Reagan administration and received the secretary of state’s Distinguished Service Award from Secretary George Shultz.
Elliott is the author of five books, including “Tested by Zion: The Bush Administration and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict”, which is most relevant to today’s discussion.
Benjamin Netanyahu has amassed 300,000 Israeli troops on the border with Gaza, and 1.1 million Palestinians, living in the north of the Gaza Strip, have been told to leave their homes ahead of an expected Israeli incursion. What will the military operation look like? And could Israel attack Iran, who are backing Hamas, too?
Ben Lazarus speaks to Mark Regev, a senior adviser to Benjamin Netanyahu.
The Ricochet Podcast: They’re Called “World Wars” for a Reason
Hosted by James Lileks, Peter Robinson & Rob Long With guests Eli Lake & Niall Ferguson
That war in the Middle East had been predicted did little to allay the shock of all who’ve followed the news from Israel since October 7th. Today’s first guest Niall Ferguson was among those who made such a prediction. He joins to discuss the Second Cold War, why it’s warming up, and the difficulties the US will face if the temperature continues to rise. And Eli Lake joins to expound upon a shift in Israel’s national security policy as the country concludes that existence in a world that contains Hamas is impossible.

ISRAEL WAR UPDATE | IDF Tells Gaza Residents to Flee As They Prepare for Invasion
The IDF has warned more than one million residents of Northern Gaza to flee to the southern part of the strip. There are reports that Israel has given the Gaza Strip a deadline for residents to evacuate, potentially in preparation for a ground invasion by Israel’s military.
Palestinian Arab residents of Judea and Samaria begin marching with Hamas flags in response to calls for a worldwide day of rage and Jihad. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant vows to eradicate Hamas, and the IDF bulldozes a pizza shop which featured an ad mocking an Israeli Holocaust survivor who was taken captive to Gaza.

NGO Monitor: Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP)
MAP is a UK based charity claiming to work “for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees.” Promotes distorted and false narratives and demonizing rhetoric under the guise of medical expertise and scientific fact.
Presents political analysis, legal declarations, and speculations regarding Israel’s military operations and weaponry, far beyond the scope of any medical expertise it might possess.
In March 2019, the Charity Commission for England and Wales warned MAP that it must “take care” in heeding regulatory guidelines, following a complaint that portions of the money raised by the Palestinian organization are being used “towards political propaganda rather than for its stated purpose of providing medical aid.”
In 2018, MAP was criticized by the UK Charity Commission for utilizing its annual income for political propagandarather than for its stated purpose of providing medical aid. Complaints that led to the Charity Commission inquiry include inaccurate and misleading content on MAP’s website, such as material promoting racist hatred, false claims regarding the medical situation in the West Bank and Gaza, and the promotion of the antisemitic play “Seven Jewish Children.”

How the Biden Administration Helped Iran's Mullahs Try to Fulfill Their Dream of Annihilating Israel
"Look, it's not even just this $6 billion, which clearly is going to further enrich Iran. It's closer to $60 billion. If you look at what the Biden administration has done to help this Islamic terrorist regime in Iran by [stopping enforcement of] sanctions, by lifting restrictions, by allowing Iranian oil to increase by 650% over the last year from 400,000 barrels of oil a day to 3 million barrels of oil a day – all of this has strengthened" the Iranian regime. — Former US Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, Fox News, October 9, 2023.
Iran provides roughly $100 million a year to Palestinian terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and $700 million a year to Hezbollah.
Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi, meanwhile, has already announced that his country will use the new $6 billion "wherever we need it."
"Our strategy is to erase Israel from the global political map." — Major General Hossein Salami, now commander-in-chief, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, MEMRI, February 4, 2019.
So far, the Biden administration, in a welcome about-face, has been superb about promising to help Israel defend itself. It is to be hoped that this policy will continue, in Ukraine as well.
Sadly, however, to the Biden administration, the glaringly central role of Iran, without which Hamas would be able to do nothing, remains nowhere in sight.
