Israel and India, Both Under Threat, Solidify Ties
Both Israel and India have pledged to cooperate on future dual-use technologies, including artificial intelligence, quantum computing and robotics, as well as space projects.Israel's Important New Allies, and an Old Enemy, Turkey
India, a Hindu-majority country, is, like Israel, a democracy bordered by authoritarian states. India, like Israel, is exposed daily to internal and external threats, with the neighboring Islamic Republic of Pakistan seeking India's destruction.
Perhaps the most meaningful dimension of this growing alliance, apart from the benefits of the often outstanding education in both nations, is the element of shared values and trust. It is a strengthening alliance, uplifting to watch.
US President Donald J. Trump announced the latest addition to his remarkable Abraham Accords last week: China's and Russia's neighbor, Kazakhstan.ITV’s ‘Breaking Ranks’: The IDF Soldier Documentary That Broke From the Truth
One hopes that at some point, Azerbaijan, too, might join the Abraham Accords.
Although Azerbaijan has enjoyed close relations with Turkey, relations between Turkey and Israel have now reached an all-time low. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan – after accusing Israel of genocide and crimes against humanity, and issuing arrest warrants for 37 Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu -- reportedly took Trump's assurance of a Turkish role in the future of Gaza, without consulting Israel, as a green light to assemble 2,000 special forces troops to occupy Gaza. What could possibly go wrong?
Erdogan is also trying to buy F-35 jets – to use for what? -- from the US, which always appears delighted to make a sale. If Trump has any interest in peace in the Middle East, this is one sale he must unquestionably turn down.
For a documentary to do its job and remain neutral on such serious allegations, the contrary evidence must be presented, but throughout the documentary, this was deliberately avoided.
War, especially against a terrorist organization that operates using guerrilla tactics, presents immensely challenging scenarios. In the fog of war, mistakes and errors of judgment can and do happen. But it is also true that the IDF has consistently held its soldiers to the highest of standards, investigating any wrongdoing as it occurs.
It would be naive to suggest that every soldier in the IDF or any other comparable army behaves in an exemplary fashion. In September 2024, The New Yorker published a database of what it said is the “largest known collection of investigations of possible war crimes committed [by the U.S. military] in Iraq and Afghanistan since 9/11—nearly eight hundred incidents in all.”
Some of the alleged crimes include “the case of soldiers raping a fourteen-year-old girl and subsequently murdering her and her family; the alleged killing of a man by a Green Beret who cut off his victim’s ear and kept it; and cruelty toward detainees at Abu Ghraib prison and at the Bagram Air Base detention facility.”
All of this is not to claim that the IDF is necessarily more moral than the American military, although there is certainly a good case to be made. The point is that nobody would condemn the entirety of the U.S. Army as an immoral entity that brings shame to its country despite the behavior of a minority of its troops.
And ultimately, ITV’s documentary relies on a tiny number of Israeli soldiers as “eyewitnesses,” most of whom appear to have a political agenda backed by Breaking the Silence.
Rather than offering an honest insight into the complexities of modern warfare against a terrorist organization, the filmmakers chose a simplified, one-sided narrative of Israel’s supposed aggression. In doing so, ITV’s Breaking Ranks fails the very test it set for itself: to tell the story of the war “through the soldiers who fought it.” Instead, it tells a story already written – one shaped by bias, omission, and a refusal to confront the full truth.
Former hostages Keith and Aviva Siegel testify before UN Committee Against Torture
Former Hamas hostages Aviva and Keith Siegel, who were abducted from Kibbutz Kfar Aza on October 7, testified before the United Nations about the horrors of captivity, saying that they are not looking for "mercy," rather, they want to make sure that the terrorists who kidnapped and tortured them will never be able to again. It was very difficult emotionally for them to read their testimony. The two spoke at a session of the U.N. Committee against Torture (UNCAT) in Geneva, as part of an Israeli delegation led by Director‑General of the Justice Ministry, Itamar Donenfeld. The Human Face of Terror: Returned Israeli Hostage Speaks Out
Keith Siegel described in detail the moment of abduction: “On October 7,2023 at 6:29 in the morning, Aviva and I were awakened by the sound of the well-known siren blaring ahead of a rocket attack. We immediately went into the safe room to protect ourselves from the rockets. ... For four hours we stayed in our safe room, hearing gunfire, rockets, then we heard the terrorists in our home. They shot into the room the room we were hiding in, then they brutally dragged us out — Aviva and I in our pajamas, surrounded by about 15 armed terrorists. They tore Aviva's meniscus in her knee and broke my ribs. On they way to the car they shot at us and I was injured in my wrist. ... They pushed us into a car, a terrorist sitting in the back sear with a long knife in front our faces. ... within minutes we crossed the border" into Gaza.
Excerpt of Aviva and Keith Siegel's statements at the UN Committee Against Torture
He later described how he was brought into a room where a female captive was tortured in his presence.
“A terrorist came to me and said that I must convince this woman hostage to confess that she was an IDF officer. They brought me into a room I saw this woman lying on her back, on the floor her on the floor, with her hands and legs tied together, her mouth covered with tape. Two terrorists were beating her with a rod, as I was telling her to confess, knowing that she had nothing to confess to, a third terrorist stood by her head, was holding a sharp rod, and pushed that sharp rod to her forehead, applying pressure; one of the terrorists held a pistol to her head and told her that if she does not confess, he will kill her. In retrospect, I feel like the terrorist had complete control over me... the memories of the situation I was in haunt me to this day," he said.
Keith Siegel told the panel that he and Aviva were held together for 50 days, until her release. Afterwards, he says he was held with other hostages and sometimes in total isolation. He was held completely alone for about six months. "I was moved 55 times; I was held in tunnels and schools, and residential homes with children and with wives of terrorists," he said. "I knew the worst could happen at any moment," he also said.

Trump sends letter to Herzog requesting pardon for Netanyahu
U.S. President Donald Trump has sent a letter to Israeli President Isaac Herzog requesting a full pardon for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his corruption trial, Herzog’s office said on Wednesday.Ahmed al-Sharaa's recognition as statesman shows Western policy's shortsightedness
The letter reads in part, “As the Great State of Israel and the amazing Jewish People move past the terribly difficult times of the last three years, I hereby call on you to fully pardon Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been a formidable and decisive War Time Prime Minister and is now leading Israel into a time of peace, which includes my continued work with key Middle East leaders to add many additional countries to the world changing Abraham Accords.”
The letter continues: “Prime Minister Netanyahu has stood tall for Israel in the face of strong adversaries and long odds, and his attention cannot be unnecessarily diverted.”
Trump wrote that, while he respects the independence and requirements of the Israeli judicial system, he believes the case against Netanyahu is a “political, unjustified prosecution.” He added that “it is time to let Bibi unite Israel by pardoning him, and ending lawfare once and for all.”
Herzog, for his part, responded to the letter, with his office noting that a formal request for a pardon must be submitted:
“President Herzog holds President Trump in the highest regard and continues to express his deep appreciation for President Trump’s unwavering support for Israel, his tremendous contribution to the return of the hostages, to reshaping the situation in the Middle East and Gaza especially, and to ensuring the security of the State of Israel,” the statement reads.
“Alongside and not withstanding this, as the Office of the President has made clear throughout, anyone seeking a Presidential pardon must submit a formal request in accordance with the established procedures,” it added.
The West has learned nothing from its mistakes. During the Cold War, the United States and its NATO allies supported Islamist militias in Afghanistan to weaken the Soviet Union – unwittingly laying the foundation for al-Qaeda.Al-Sharaa sets Israeli pullout as condition for security pact
Today, this pattern is repeating itself in Syria, only with new faces and old reflexes.
While secular Kurds in northern Syria bore the brunt of the ground offensive against the so-called Islamic State, the West is once again courting Islamist forces. This time, it’s being done directly with the self-proclaimed Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.
Political Islam is not a sudden flare-up of religious fanaticism, but a powerful instrument that has evolved over centuries. Even in the Ottoman Empire, religious legitimation was combined with territorial expansion. Jihad never served purely spiritual purposes; it was a means of political control, plunder, and power expansion.
Europe vs the Islamic world
While Europe developed the Enlightenment, rationalism, and secularism, after the Thirty Years’ War, the separation of religion and rule remained foreign to many parts of the Islamic world. Ideological mobilization and power politics were closely intertwined from the beginning.
During the Cold War, the West deliberately exploited this logic. The United States, Britain, and other NATO states supported Islamist militias in Afghanistan to strengthen anti-Communist forces. Weapons, money, and training flowed to the mujahideen, from which al-Qaeda later emerged.
Now, the pattern is repeating itself, this time with Ankara and Doha as central actors. Turkey uses Islamist militias as an extension of its foreign policy. In Afrin, Serekaniye (Ras al-Ayn), and Tal Abyad, Turkish troops, together with these forces, expelled tens of thousands of Kurdish civilians. Their secular order was destroyed, and houses, fields, and businesses were plundered or confiscated.
Qatar provides the financing through supposed humanitarian foundations, religious organizations, and opaque financial channels. Doha maintains close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, with media platforms like Al Jazeera serving as mouthpieces.
Together, Ankara and Doha pursue the goal of deploying Islamism as a political counterweight to secular structures. The result is brutal: Sharia courts, expulsion of religious minorities, and exploitation of local resources are everyday occurrences in the areas they control.
Jerusalem needs to withdraw its forces in Syria to the positions they held before the Assad regime fell on Dec. 8, 2024, for a security agreement with Damascus to cross the finish line, Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa said during his historic visit to Washington this week.
“We are engaged in direct negotiations with Israel, and we have gone a good distance on the way to reach an agreement. But to reach a final agreement, Israel should withdraw to their pre-December 8 borders,” the former U.S.-listed foreign terrorist told The Washington Post in a Monday interview published on Tuesday.
President Donald Trump hosted al-Sharaa at the White House on Monday for the first visit by a Syrian president to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. The Syrian leader asserted that Trump agrees with his position on Israel withdrawing its forces.
“The United States is with us in these negotiations, and so many international parties support our perspective in this regard. Today, we found that Mr. Trump supports our perspective as well, and he will push as quickly as possible in order to reach a solution for this,” said al-Sharaa.
After the fall of the Assad regime in December 2024, Jerusalem seized control of large parts of southern Syria, expanding a security zone and maintaining a military presence amid ongoing clashes and airstrikes.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sept. 22 dismissed reports that his government was willing to give up the country’s buffer zone in Syria as part of a potential security deal with the new regime in Damascus.
Talks with Syria are focused on “a security arrangement in which they demilitarize southwest Syria, and we ensure the security of our Druze allies in Jabal al-Druze,” the Israeli leader stated in a recording on X.
Al-Sharaa appeared to dismiss the prospects of demilitarizing the region south of Damascus as part of a renewed security pact with Jerusalem based on the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement that ended the Yom Kippur War.
“To talk about an entire region demilitarized, it will be difficult, because if there is any kind of chaos, who will protect it? If this demilitarized zone was used by some parties as a launching pad for hitting Israel, who is going to be responsible for that?” he said. “And at the end of the day, this is Syrian territory, and Syria should have the freedom of dealing with their own territory,” he added.
“Israel occupied the Golan Heights in order to protect Israel, and now they are imposing conditions in the south of Syria in order to protect the Golan Heights. So after a few years, maybe they will occupy the center of Syria in order to protect the south of Syria. They will reach Munich on that pathway,” said the Syrian leader.
Jerusalem has repeatedly stated its legitimate security concerns regarding Syria as the reason for the Israeli military taking up positions in south of the country, contradicting the claim made by al-Shaara expressed in the Post interview that “[t]he advances that Israel made into Syria are not coming from [their] security concerns but are coming from their expansionist ambitions.”

Architect of South Africa’s ‘Genocide’ Case Against Israel, Supporter of ‘Armed Struggle,' Slated To Enter US This Week
The South African official who spearheaded a case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), arguing it was guilty of genocide, is scheduled to enter the United States on Thursday. The official, Naledi Pandor, spoke by phone with former Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh shortly after Oct. 7, 2023, and has supported Islamist terrorism.
Pandor, a convert to Islam, has professed her support for terrorism on numerous occasions. "We as Muslims, we are a peaceful people," she said during an event in Cape Town in September. "But we are permitted to engage in jihad when necessary."
She told an audience last month that "armed struggle may become a necessity if there is no movement toward fundamental change."
Pandor served as South African foreign minister from 2019 to 2024, leading the country’s lawfare campaign against Israel that culminated in a formal accusation of genocide in December 2023. She spent the preceding months making diplomatic rounds that took her to Tehran for meetings with top Iranian officials and to Hamas-friendly Qatar, according to the Times of Israel, which published an open letter on Monday calling on the Trump administration to revoke Pandor’s visa.
Just 10 days after Hamas’s attack against Israel, Pandor spoke on the phone with Haniyeh in a call she claimed had to do with getting humanitarian aid into Gaza. Hamas itself said Pandor called to offer her congratulations for the "Al-Aqsa Flood"—the terror group’s name for the attack—and her office eventually admitted that she "reiterated South Africa’s solidarity and support" for the Palestinian people during the conversation.
News of Pandor’s visit to the United States comes after a year in which the Trump administration has taken action against similar individuals. Secretary of State Marco Rubio expelled South African ambassador to the United States Ebrahim Rasool from the country over his claims that President Donald Trump was leading a white supremacist movement, and the State Department has revoked visas of Palestinian officials in part over their pursuit of legal charges against Israel at the ICJ. In June, the administration canceled visas for the British rap group Bob Vylan after the duo called for the murder of Israeli soldiers and the end of the Jewish state during a music festival.
A senior administration official told the Washington Free Beacon that Pandor’s leadership role in the ICJ case and support for terrorism may prevent her from entering the country.
It cannot be emphasized enough. The Palestinian Authority’s financing terrorists’ Pay-for-Slay policy encourages violence.

Brigadier General (Res.) Itai Brun will join Senior Fellow Dr. Michael Doran to examine the strategic, organizational, and analytical factors that enabled Hamas’s October 7 surprise attack. They will explore how Israel’s security apparatus failed to adapt to Hamas’s evolving strategy due to institutional blind spots and an inaccurate threat perception. They will also identify meaningful lessons Israel and other nations should learn to strengthen their preparedness.
Hamas rifles, gear found in Kibbutz Be’eri 25 months after Oct. 7
Assault rifles and other equipment belonging to Hamas terrorists were discovered on Wednesday during reconstruction work at Kibbutz Be’eri, more than two years after the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on the community.UAE concerned over influence of Turkish, Qatari 'Hamas-enablers' in Gaza plan
“Arms and communication devices belonging to Hamas terrorists were found in a kindergarten in Kibbutz Be’eri. Police bomb squad officers neutralized the weapons safely and without incident,” the Israel Police stated.
An investigation found the weapons included “loaded and ready-to-fire Kalashnikov rifles, along with communication devices used by Hamas terrorists during the murderous terror attack on the kibbutz,” the statement added.
The weapons had remained in the Be’eri kindergarten since Israel Police officers and other security forces waged “heroic battles that halted the terrorists’ advance deeper into the country and saved many lives.”
The Oct. 7 massacre claimed the lives of roughly 10% of Be’eri’s 1,100 residents. Another 30 residents were among the 251 people taken hostage. The bodies of two kibbutz members are still being held in Gaza, along with the remains of a Thai agricultural worker taken from Be’eri.
Last month, police neutralized a Hamas grenade discovered in Be’eri during reconstruction work.
Thousands of terrorists from Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Fatah, as well as unaffiliated Gazan civilians, infiltrated Israel’s south on Oct. 7, 2023.
The United Arab Emirates is concerned about Qatar and Turkey playing a central role in the proposed plan to rebuild the Gaza Strip.IDF says it killed several gunmen on Israeli-held side of Gaza’s Yellow Line
In general, the UAE views Doha and Ankara as “Hamas enablers. These states will make it possible for the terrorist organization to continue existing,” a source familiar with its stance told The Jerusalem Post.
“There are interested parties affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood who are currently embedding themselves in key positions in the Gaza reconstruction plan,” the source said.
This concern led the UAE to officially announce this week that it will not take part in the International Stabilization Force (ISF) expected to deploy in Gaza.
“The UAE has not yet seen a clear framework for the stabilization force, and under such circumstances, it is unlikely to participate,” Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, an adviser to the UAE’s presidency, said at a summit in Abu Dhabi.
Established in coordination with the US, the ISF is expected to include troops from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey.
The Trump administration said it hoped that this task force would enter Gaza “very soon,” and is currently working on a United Nations Security Council resolution to authorize its deployment.
The Israeli military said it killed four terror operatives on the Israel-controlled side of the Yellow Line in the southern Gaza Strip on Wednesday, including several gunmen detected near troops.
In one incident, the Israel Defense Forces said that troops operating in the Rafah area to demolish Hamas tunnels opened fire on four terror operatives who were spotted near them.
“Immediately upon detection, the troops on the ground opened fire at the terrorists,” the military said, adding that no soldiers were hurt.
Later, the IDF said that three of the four armed terror operatives were confirmed to have been killed in an airstrike that was directed by the troops shortly after the initial encounter. The condition of the fourth gunman was unknown.
Some 100-200 Hamas terrorists are estimated to be holed up in tunnels in southern Gaza on the Israeli side of the Yellow Line. The US has pressured Israel to allow them safe passage back to Hamas-held areas of Gaza, though Israel has not agreed as of yet.
In a separate incident, the IDF said it killed a terror operative who crossed the Yellow Line demarcating the military’s withdrawal and approached troops in the Khan Younis area.

CAIR Teased a 'Major' Expansion to Its Political Operations After Oct. 7. Two Years Later, Its Network Is Taking Credit for Mamdani's Win—and Pledging To Do More.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations teased a "major" expansion to its lobbying and political operations in the wake of Oct. 7 to give Muslims "a voice in the halls of Congress and on the campaign trails." Nearly two years later, the pro-Hamas group's allies and officials say their efforts helped elect New York City mayor-to-be Zohran Mamdani, with plans to "make even more history" in next year's midterm elections.Taxpayer dollars funded Linda Sarsour’s radical nonprofit
At CAIR events this summer, anti-Semitic activist Linda Sarsour bragged that she got CAIR's political arm, CAIR Action, and a CAIR-endorsed super PAC, Unity & Justice Fund, to back Mamdani's campaign. "You need to move that PAC [to support Mamdani]," Sarsour said at a CAIR event in August. Unity & Justice Fund raised $173,000 through September and spent most of that money—$143,500—backing Mamdani.
"The story is not just that it's random that Zohran ascended to this place," Sarsour said at another CAIR event in September. "It's Muslim money."
It's part of an aggressive foray into campaign politics for CAIR, a purportedly apolitical charity known for launching legal fights against anti-Muslim discrimination. While CAIR itself cannot endorse political candidates or spend on elections, its political arm, CAIR Action, can. Then there's the Unity & Justice Fund. The super PAC is not legally associated with CAIR, but its treasurer, Basim Elkarra, doubles as the head of CAIR Action. The two groups also share office space in Washington, D.C., and CAIR Action gave the PAC $10,000 in May, campaign finance disclosures show.
Together, the entities create what Sarsour called a "new level of sophistication" in CAIR's political efforts. It was long in the making.
Nihad Awad, the CAIR executive director who said he was "happy to see" Hamas's Oct. 7 terror attack, first touted "a major breakthrough in the way we do business and the way we speak to our politicians nationwide" shortly after the attack during a Dec. 10, 2023, interview. CAIR Action registered in D.C. 12 days later, according to local business filings. By January 2024, Awad was sharing "the good news: that we are expanding our C4, lobbying, and PACs … so that we give you a voice not only in the halls of Congress, but also on the campaign trails."
The Arab American Association of New York, which anti-Israel activist Linda Sarsour directed from 2005 to 2017, has received about $4.1 million in New York state and city funding in the past seven years, according to the Washington Free Beacon.
“The state-level funding came primarily from the New York State Department of State, with $20,000 disbursed from the Office of Children and Family Services. Its city-level funding is much murkier,” the publication reported. “One $60,000 payment came from the Department of Small Business Services, but the rest of the funding was not attributed to any particular agency, watchdog group OpenTheBooks found.”
The association supported anti-Israel protests in Brooklyn shortly after Oct. 7 that “quickly devolved into a riot, with activists shutting down roads, setting fires in the street and yelling and throwing eggs at police officers,” per the Beacon.
Sarsour, who has close ties to New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, called on progressives to unseat pro-Israel Democrats in remarks at a recent conference in Puerto Rico, which Mamdani also attended.
“You do the right thing, you keep your job. You don’t do the right thing, you don’t keep your job,” she said, warning elected officials who back Israel that they will face primary challengers.

NYC rabbis rip Michael Blake for stoking ‘antisemitism’ in campaign kickoff against pro-Israel Rep. Ritchie Torres
Rabbis in The Bronx are rallying around pro-Israel Rep. Ritchie Torres, by accusing his newly-announced Democratic primary opponent Michael Blake of stoking “antisemitism” in his campaign kickoff video.
Blake’s video featured a clip of Guy Christensen — the baby-faced anti-Israel activist who urged support for the gunman charged with killing two Israel Embassy staffers in DC — claiming that Torres was “exposed for secretly investing in genocide.”
“This launch video is not only opportunistic, it is also deeply offensive,” the dozen rabbis representing Jewish institutions in Riverdale said in a statement obtained by The Post.
Christensen, the Keffiyeh wearing Israel basher from Pennsylvania who uses the social media handle “YourFavoriteGuy,” in May urged his nearly 1 million online followers to “support’’ accused killer Elias Rodriguez, 31, in a rant so vile that TikTok yanked it.
“Kicking off his campaign by highlighting someone who endorses such violence harms and violates the progressive values he professes to run on,” said the statement about Blake signed by Rabbi Binyamin Krauss, principal of SAR Academy, among others.
“Mr. Blake’s campaign should be run on the strength of his ideas, his record and his vision for the Bronx,” the missive states. “What we have seen instead is a reckless and dangerous attempt to inflame prejudice and antisemitism for political gain. Such behavior demeans the office he seeks and disrespects the community he hopes to serve.”

All The Questions Candace Owens Is ‘Just Asking’
Owens suggested the notebooks are fake—because Charlie's entire life was. "I am putting the fire here right at the feet of Turning Point because I am disgusted," Owens said Sept. 30. "I am looking around and wondering whether Charlie's entire life was The Truman Show. None of you guys are behaving in the way that you should be behaving. Okay?"
Erika Kirk has not addressed Owens directly. During an interview with Jesse Watters of Fox News, however, she addressed "theories swirling around about Charlie's assassination."
"Everyone's trying to process this and I respect that," she said. "But where my heart is just asking for some grace for those who were there that day. They have to relive that every single day."
"And again, my only request is that—just please pray and consider and think about whatever you put online, because it's going to impact his kids in the future. … We're all trying to process this in our own way, and I appreciate that. But just some grace would be nice."

Avi Yemini: Leftist MELTS DOWN when I ask ONE simple question
This exchange outside a Melbourne nursery reveals just how unhinged the self-described ‘tolerant left’ has become.
I was there at Bob Vylan’s gig as hundreds of their fans chanted ‘death to the IDF’ – now I understand why they think it’s OK
When Pascal Robinson-Foster and drummer Wade Laurence George (helpfully named Bobbie Vylan) came to the stage, Robinson-Foster asked the crowd: "How many of you found out about Bob Vylan after our Glastonbury set?Bob Vylan singer interviewed by police over comments on stage at Glastonbury
He spoke about a recent complaint the band had upheld against Manchester Evening News and said Bob Vylan is "coming for them", and that other papers will be next.
There were a handful of Israel-orientated moments in between songs, but they were fleeting.
He briefly chanted "Free, free", prompting the audience to reply "Palestine". A "death, death to the IDF" chant erupted in the crowd, but he refused to join in. A quick call-out was made to the UK government alleging that ministers claim the UK can't afford to let migrants in whilst funding other countries' “war crimes” - and a call was made for protesters to not just chant, but to "mobilise".
Other than these moments, nothing else was said about Israel - not by Robinson-Foster at least. He didn’t need to – Since Glastonbury it was evident he had said more than enough already for his followers to take the baton.
There was a prevailing sense that his work had been done, and it was now up to them to continue the fight.
When he jumped off the stage and crowd surfed, these followers reached out to touch him in a manner more akin to the stretching out of a hand to a spiritual leader than trying to grab hold of a rock star.
One young woman told me: "I flew to London especially to see Bob Vylan."
I got talking to her and ended up spending the rest of the evening doing so. We left together after the gig at midnight and, being a nice Jewish boy, I decided I would walk her back to her hostel.
We talked the whole way about Bob Vylan and what Robinson-Foster stands for, and half an hour later when I left her at the hostel door, I could see as clear as day why so many people now think it is completely okay to chant for the death of soldiers in the army of the world’s only Jewish state –because they were simply told to.
Bob Vylan singer Bobby Vylan has been interviewed by police over comments he made on stage at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
The frontman, whose real name is Pascal Robinson-Foster, led chants of “death, death to the IDF (Israel Defence Forces)” during their BBC livestreamed performance at the Worthy Farm festival in June, which saw an investigation launched by Avon and Somerset Police.
Police said a man in his 30s, understood to be Robinson-Foster, had voluntarily attended an interview on Monday, after the force received advice from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
A police statement read: “It has been important for us to have a full understanding of any legal precedents, which is a complex process, and therefore over the past couple of months we have been seeking early legal advice from the Crown Prosecution Service.
“Advice from the CPS was received during the week commencing Monday, 20 October.
“Following a review of the advice, a voluntary police interview was arranged to help us progress our inquiries, which was held yesterday afternoon.
“The matter has been recorded as a public order incident while we continue to investigate and consider all relevant legislation.”
Police said voluntary interviews are “commonly used in investigations where an individual agrees to attend and an arrest is not considered necessary”, and added that “attendees are interviewed under caution and have the same legal rights as anybody who is arrested”.
It comes after British Airways paused their sponsorship of the Louis Theroux podcast in October following an interview with Robinson-Foster, which saw him say he was “not regretful” of the chant and would “do it again tomorrow”.
