Diversity. Equity. Inclusion.
These are sacred concepts for progressives.
They also happen to be concepts roundly ignored by the Palestinian leadership.
And the aforementioned progressives don't really care.
Here is a photo from a PLO Executive Committee meeting presided over by Palestinian dictator Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday evening.
Not one woman. Not one man whose skin tone would make them a victim of discrimination anywhere.
Once upon a time, Hanan Ashrawi was a member of the committee. She resigned in 2020 - and was replaced by yet another white man.
EC members are not elected. They are effectively handpicked by Mahmoud Abbas to support his decisions, as he controls every single branch of Palestinian government.
None of this bothers the people who claim to care so much about diversity and inclusion.

Hanan Ashrawi tweeted:
Was Kamel an innocent bystander?
Of course not. He was a terrorist. He was throwing firebombs towards the IDF.
Hamas called him their "son" and created a martyr poster.
At his funeral his body was wrapped up in the flag of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.
It was carried by scores of gun-toting terrorists.
Hia brother whom he was named after was also a Hamas terrorist. He was killed while en route to a terror attack.
Hia father was also in Israeli prisons for terrorism.
So Kamel was a terrorist, from a terrorist family, killed while attacking Jews, and named after a brother who was also a terrorist killed while attacking Jews.
This is who Hanan Ashrawi mourns.

Some tweets are almost too outrageous to believe.
Hanan Ashrawi's Miftah NGO praises Dalal Mughrabi, the terrorist behind the Coastal Road Massacre which killed 13 children among its 38 victims, numerous times (see here, here, here where she is called a hero, here.)
Children have been literally targeted by Palestinian heroes, like 10 month old Shalhevet Pas, murdered by a sniper aiming specifically at her.
How hypocritical can you get?
(And as far as the minors in Israeli custody, 90% are over 16.)

According to the synopsis of the discussion, Ashrawi was in rare form with lie after lie:
Israel is still taking land, Ashrawi reported, and she cannot even travel from her hometown of Ramallah to Jerusalem.[1] She further insists that Israel expects to get its own way without any words spoken between the two entities, while most of the rest of the world’s nations want a negotiated settlement.[2] Ashrawi reminds us, in any case, that “negotiations are just a means to an end.” The United Nations must be the place where peace is made, she suggested since that’s where international law prevails.[3]
1. The decision of not being able to travel from Ramallah to Jerusalem is from an agreement that the PLO signed. Before the first Intifada, under "occupation," Jews and Palestinians both traveled freely throughout the Land of Israel. Restrictions only started with Palestinian violence. Imagine that.
2. Israel had sought a negotiated settlement since 1993. The Palestinians refused to negotiate and tried to push the entire issue to the anti-Israel UN to avoid any compromise for peace.
3. She here seems to admit that she doesn't want negotiations, and that the situation should be unilaterally decided by the UN. She contradicted herself and no one even cares.

The PLO has been spending lots of time talking with EU representatives, since the EU is now the only reliable partner it has.
It's message is a bit muddled, though.
Hanan Ashrawi met with the EU representative to the Palestinian Authority today where she told him that Palestinians were still the center of the universe - and that Israeli normalization with Arab countries could actually be a bad thing. Really.
Meanwhile, Saeb Erakat and leaders of Palestinian civil society groups met with EU funders in Ramallah to discuss EU laws that prohibit funding NGOs associated with known terror groups. Israeli groups like NGO Monitor have been exposing links between EU-funded NGOs and Palestinian terror groups, which has caused a curtailment of some funding.
Erakat wanted to work with the European NGOs to discuss joint action mechanisms to press the European Union to remove Palestinian political parties from list of terrorist groups, claiming that categorizing groups such as the PFLP as terrorist is a scheme by Zionist lobbies aimed at delegitimizing components of Palestinian society and targeting the Palestinian narrative. He wants to coordinate roles between the PLO and the anti-Israel European NGO funders to influence and change the European financing conditions for Palestinian civil society institutions.
Erakat stressed that he wants the group to reject any labeling of any Palestinian faction as terrorist. Presumably this includes Hamas and Islamic Jihad. He claimed that putting anti-terror conditions on these funds is "political blackmail to destroy the Palestinian national project."
One wonders how kindly the sympathetic EU will be to messages from the PLO that peace is bad and terror groups are legitimate.

Hanan Ashrawi talks about Israel "occupying" DC and calls the Washington Monument a "phallic symbol"
On Saturday, tens of thousands of Christians gathered at the Washington Mall for Franklin Graham's Prayer March.
The people moved to seven different iconic locations, like the White House, the Lincolm Memorial, the World War II Memorial and the National Archives, with specific prayers at each stop.
None of the prayers were political.
One person noticed a superficial resemblance between the worshipers who gathered at the base of the Washington Monument and how Orthodox Jews pray at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, and tweeted this disparaging note, gathering thousands of retweets:
This tweet is complete fiction. None of the Prayer March literature, either before or after the event, references the Kotel or even Israel in any way. The Washington Monument is simply the only "prayer point" where people could gather that has a flat wall where people could approach it directly for prayer.
Keep in mind that the tweet is insulting to Jews as well as evangelicals. Jews never call the Kotel the "Wailing Wall," a purely 20th Century British term, and that characterization is considered derogatory nowadays.
None of this stopped PLO spokesperson Hanan Ashrawi from adding further insult to this lie, with a sarcastic tweet that moves from the antisemitic meme of Jews occupying the US government to calling the Washington Monument a "phallic symbol."
White supremacists often refer to Washington as the "Zionist occupied government," or ZOG, and Ashrawi can hardly be unaware of her use of the word "occupy" in this context.
And while it is hard to deny that the obelisk has been seen as a phallic symbol for centuries, and the Washington Monument is the world's largest obelisk, that was not its original meaning when used by the ancient Egyptians (unlike some explicitly phallic Greek architecture.)
Ashrawi in one tweet insults the United States and Jews while using a white supremacist dog-whistle.

- "pro-Palestinian", Ahlam Tamimi, Ashrawi, glorifying terror, Jordan, Leila Khaled, PFLP, Rasmea Odeh, Rina Shnerb, Sbarro Pizza, SFSU, supporting terror, terror victims
San Francisco State University will be hosting a Zoom event called “Whose Narratives? Gender, Justice and Resistance: A Conversation with Leila Khaled,” on September 23.
Palestinian "moderates" have been the originators of this mindset where female terrorists are role models. The Miftah NGO, which is headed by Hanan Ashrawi and is in the forefront of Palestinian feminism, has multiple articles in Arabic that praise female suicide bombers as role models - and they had English articles praising female suicide bombers as well before I exposed them.
Leila Khaled, of course, is the PFLP terrorist who hijacked planes in 1969 and 1970. Her image with a machine gun is ubiquitous at lots of leftist rallies.
The PFLP, which she is still involved with, was behind the murder of 17-year old Rina Shnerb last year.
But no progressive groups march with photos of Rina Shnerb. They fetishize female terrorists, not female Jewish victims of terror.
Khaled is not the only heroine of the progressive crowd. They love Rasmea Odeh, responsible for the murder of two people. Also a PFLP member, Odeh has admitted that she was involved in bombing attacks against civilians. and fought to have photo-ops with her before she was deported from the US.
Odeh, a violent terrorist, was treated like a rock star by the supposedly anti-violent BDSers.
Palestinian women have also participated in the resistance. As the conflict grew more intense and young men were recruited to carry out military operations against Israeli targets, several young women also decided to join the ranks of the resistance movement. In January 2002, 28-year-old nurse Wafa Idrees, detonated a bomb in Jerusalem’s Jaffa Street, killing one Israeli and injuring 150 others. She was also killed in the blast. This marked the beginning of a string of Palestinian women dedicated to sacrificing their lives for the cause. Over the next two years, seven other women carried out similar operations, the most deadly of which was carried out by Hanadi Jaradat, a 29-year-old attorney from Jenin. Hanadi detonated explosives strapped to her body in a busy Haifa restaurant, killing 19 Israelis and injuring 50 others.
The "moderate" PLO has become a cult of sorts for Dalal Mughrabi, responsible for murdering 38 civilians. Numerous institutions are named after her and her likeness can be seen all over Palestinian towns.
And "moderate" Jordan has been sheltering another celebrity female terrorist, Ahlam Tamimi, who murdered 15 civilians including seven children.
It appears that the "progressive" Left in the West has embraced the idea of female terrorists as role models. It is this immoral and disgusting thinking that is behind a university effectively honoring a terrorist as if she can teach students something about life, and behind prominent American and European progressives literally embracing a murderer.
We have lots of ideas, but we need more resources to be even more effective. Please donate today to help get the message out and to help defend Israel.
