From Turkey's TRTWorld:
More than 38,000 Palestinian children have been orphaned by Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza since October 2023, a Health Ministry official has said.

“At least 13,901 women were also widowed by the war,” Zaher al-Wahidi said on Thursday.

The Palestinian official explained that some 32,151 children lost their fathers, 4,417 lost their mothers, and 1,918 lost both parents.
It is unclear whether the count of losing both parents is included in the counts of losing mothers and losing fathers. If it is, then assuming that all fathers are of fighting age (roughly ages 18-50,)  the ratio of dead men to women of those ages is 7:1; if it is not the ratio is 5:1.

Either way, this is much different than the health ministry has been saying.

The latest breakdown of health ministry numbers shows 14.724 men and 12,298 women killed, a ratio of 1.1:1. This doesn't include children, and it seems not to include the elderly, so it is probably for ages 18-64.

There is no way that there is near parity between men and women between 18-64 while there is at least a 5:1 ratio of men to women of parenthood ages 18-50.

Hamas is not very good about keeping consistency between its many statistics of fatalities in Gaza. But they are quite right in assuming that the media will never report on their inconsistencies.
