From Ian:

Victims of Terrorism Sue Biden Admin for Sending Taxpayer Aid to Palestinians
Victims of Palestinian terror attacks are suing the Biden administration for awarding nearly half a billion dollars in U.S. taxpayer funds to the Palestinian government, which allegedly uses these funds to pay convicted terrorists and their families.

The lawsuit, filed in federal court on Tuesday by American victims of Palestinian terror attacks and Rep. Ronny Jackson (R., Texas), alleges the Biden administration is in violation of federal law for resuming U.S. aid to the Palestinian government, according to a copy of the lawsuit exclusively obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. The Trump administration froze these funds due to the Palestinian government’s financial support for terrorists as part of a program known as pay-to-slay.

The plaintiffs, led in the suit by the America First Legal Foundation, a watchdog group composed of lawyers, are asking the court to halt the Biden administration’s Palestinian aid program over charges it is sustaining the pay-to-slay program in violation of a 2018 law known as the Taylor Force Act. That law—named after an American who was killed in 2016 by a Palestinian terrorist—bars all U.S. payments to the Palestinian government until it halts the terrorist payment program.

The State Department, which is named as a defendant in the suit, has formally determined in congressional notifications that the Palestinian government pays terrorists and incites violence against Israel. Now, a court must determine if U.S. aid payments should be stopped for violating federal law.

Force’s family is also listed as a plaintiff in the case, along with Jackson and Sarri Singer, who survived a Palestinian suicide bombing in 2003.

"I am committed to doing everything in my power to get the accountability these families so richly deserve as we work to make sure U.S. taxpayer-funded terrorism never happens again," Jackson told the Free Beacon. "President Trump showed tremendous leadership when he signed the Taylor Force Act into law and ended taxpayer support for the Palestinian Authority’s terrorist activities. Joe Biden’s decision to reverse course knowing full well blood is on his hands as a result is unconscionable."

Stuart and Robbi Force, Taylor’s parents, said in a statement that President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken are "dishonoring the memory and legacy of a good man, and ignoring the citizens of the United States who understand that taxpayer dollars should not be used to fund the killing of innocent civilians."

The lawsuit centers on the Biden’s administration’s decision to resume U.S. aid even as the State Department determines the pay-to-slay program has continued, disclosures that were first made public by the Free Beacon reveal.
'A war crime'_ UN pans Israeli expulsion of Palestinian lawyer said linked to terror
Israel’s expulsion of a French-Palestinian human rights lawyer accused of terror offenses amounts to a “war crime,” the UN human rights office claimed Monday.

Salah Hamouri, 37, arrived in France on Sunday after having been held without charge in Israel under a controversial practice that allows suspects to be detained without trial for renewable periods of up to six months. He previously served time in prison after being convicted of plotting to kill one of Israel’s most prominent rabbis.

Hamouri, who has lived in Jerusalem his entire life, had been held on suspicion of participation in terror activities due to his alleged affiliation with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terror group, but was not charged or convicted in the latest proceedings against him.

“Deporting a protected person from occupied territory is a grave breach of the Fourth Geneva Convention, constituting a war crime,” UN human rights spokesman Jeremy Laurence said in a statement, referring to East Jerusalem. Israel seized the territory from Jordan in 1967 and later annexed it in a move not recognized by most of the international community.

In condemning the expulsion, Laurence said: “We are deeply concerned by the chilling message this sends to those working on human rights” in East Jerusalem, which is sought by the Palestinians as the capital of a potential future state.

Hamouri works for the Palestinian human rights organization Addameer, which was deemed by Israel to be a terror organization, together with several other NGOs, in October 2021. Addameer — along with the UN, several European nations and a number of Israeli human rights groups — have all strongly rejected the designation.

Previously, Hamouri spent seven years in prison after being convicted in a 2005 plot to kill Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, a former chief rabbi and the spiritual leader of the ultra-Orthodox Shas party.
Riots Break Out in Jordan
In recent days, violent demonstrations in the Kingdom of Jordan have been expanding, leading to, among other things, fatalities in the security forces. Escalating fuel prices have triggered the current spate of violence.

There is no doubt that the Kingdom of Jordan has been going through a severe economic crisis for many years, worsening annually. There are multiple reasons. So far the most important have been:
The prolonged presence of hundreds of thousands of refugees in Jordan due to the civil war in neighboring Syria
The Corona crisis and all it entailed
Unemployment which recently reached 23%
Corruption

And now the war in Ukraine has only made matters worse, causing price increases all over the world including Jordan.

Jordan’s external debt was close to 42 billion dollars in 2020 due to an increase of 4 billion dollars over the previous two years.

In light of all the above, the Jordanian Ministry of Finance realized that they must carry out reforms to prevent a total economic collapse of the country.

The reforms included eliminating subsidies and raising the price of fuel and some essential products – and these were announced.

In response, truck and taxi drivers went on strike and demonstrated in the streets of the kingdom. Many Jordanians joined them. They burned tires and blocked roads. The Jordanian government opened an emergency command center to monitor and deal with the crisis, and a decision was taken to expand the Jordanian army’s forces in the south of the kingdom to prevent further demonstrations.

Many Jordanian citizens circulated videos of the riots that broke out in the south and in the region of the capital on social media. Hundreds of young people were seen in different districts burning tires and calling for the overthrow of the Jordanian regime.

JPost Editorial: Israel's democracy is not in jeopardy; it is combative and feisty
It is now bon ton to forecast the demise of Israel’s democracy.

Everyone is doing it: from august forums such as the New York Times editorial board, to blogs run by North American ex-pats now living in Israel, to Facebook groups set up by disgruntled Israelis encouraging emigration.

For instance, the web headline to a Times editorial on Saturday warning of the dangers of presumptive Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s new government read: “The Ideal of Democracy in a Jewish State Is in Jeopardy.” And the headline adequately reflected the spirit of the editorial.

The editorial said that Netanyahu’s government “is a significant threat to the future of Israel – its direction, its security and even the idea of a Jewish homeland.”

The credibility of the editorial was cast in doubt further down in the piece when the renowned paper inexplicably left out Palestinian terrorism as a reason why “hopes for a Palestinian state have dimmed,” writing instead that the reasons are “the combined pressure of Israeli resistance and Palestinian corruption, ineptitude and internal divisions.”

But put that revisionist narrative aside for a moment. The Times has spoken and asserted that Israel’s democracy is in danger.

So what do the citizens of a country whose democracy is in danger do? Well, to hear some Israelis tell the tale, they leave.

One Facebook group started by anti-Netanyahu protester Yaniv Gorelik is called “Leaving the country – together.”

As of Tuesday morning, the group had 494 members. Not 49,400, or even 4,940, but 494. Not exactly a mass movement.
Ambassador Tom Nides: Why the double-standard?
Did the United States government protest former Finance Minister Avigdor Liberman's anti-Haredi statements and policies last year? Did it denounce them in the name of democracy and demand that all citizens of Israel be treated equally?

It didn’t. Why not?

I posed that question to the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Thomas Nides.

I was part of an Am Echad mission of Orthodox Jewish leaders that traveled to Israel last February to present the views of Orthodox Jews in the Diaspora to the government. We met with then-Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Isaac Herzog, and many coalition members and opposition members. We also had a meeting with Mr. Nides.

The ambassador introduced himself to our group as a Reform Jew from Duluth. He was friendly and spent almost 45 minutes with our group. He spoke about American support for Israel, the Iranian threat, the war that was then imminent between Russia and Ukraine, and other geopolitical matters.

He shared some of his own political and business experiences and, in his closing remarks, explained that he wished to encourage and support American values of democracy and equality. He expressed his admiration for the Center-Left Bennett-Lapid-Liberman coalition as the best government the United States could count on at these times.

And so, I asked him my question. Introducing myself as a rabbi and graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, I noted that one of the basic principles I was taught there is that in a democracy, any law showing animus against a group is unconstitutional.
The UN Can’t Resist Antisemites
Though her extreme positions and antisemitism have been known for quite a while, the latest revelations of crass antisemitism from one of the United Nations’ anti-Israel “experts” has also shed additional light on the bigger, systemic issue: the institutional antisemitism and unreliability of UN bodies and much of the broader anti-Israel industry.

Consider that of the four individuals appointed by the UN Human Rights Council to investigate the Jewish state, all four are demonstrably antisemitic.

Francesca Albanese’s conspiracy theory that the “Jewish lobby” has “subjugated” the United States is but the latest discovery in a long line of bigoted and extremist statements. Then there are the three members of the UN “Commission of Inquiry.” Miloon Kothari said the “Jewish lobby” controls social media. Chris Sidoti endorsed the dual loyalty trope and claimed that Jewish advocacy organizations are beholden to the State of Israel; he also claimed that Jews throw accusations of antisemitism around “like rice at a wedding.” The third commissioner, Navi Pillay, has built an entire career of gaslighting Jews over the explosive antisemitism they experienced at the 2001 Durban “Anti-Racism” Conference.

To point out these prejudices and biases is neither a “personal attack” nor a deflection. The UN’s own rules require that individuals appointed to such positions be selected on the basis of their personal characteristics, including impartiality, objectivity, and independence.

These rules exist for a reason. UN reports produced by individuals like Albanese typically rely heavily on subjective interpretations, judgment calls, and second-hand (or even third-hand) information. This is in part a reflection of the fact that such “experts” are charged with investigating alleged violations of vague international laws that are far from settled. So when “experts” like Albanese, Pillay, Sidoti, and Kothari concoct novel theories of international law to declare Israel is acting unlawfully, their personal integrity, expertise, and impartiality (or lack thereof) is highly relevant to determining the credibility of such legal proclamations.

Media Parrots PA Blaming Israel for Cancer
Most international media quoted Palestinian officials’ claims as well as the Israeli Prison Service’s response that there was no negligence and that Abu Hamid had received “close and regular treatment” by Israeli medical personnel since his 2021 diagnosis.

Several media organizations, however, failed to record the Israeli Prison Service’s response, seemingly giving more weight and authority to the absurd claims of “deliberate neglect” by Palestinian officials and political leaders.

For example, AFP’s “Palestinians protest death of prisoner in Israel” only mentions in passing that Abu Hamid was being treated by Israel (without mentioning the Prison Service’s statement on the quality of care that he was receiving) while giving full voice to the absurd allegations made by Palestinian leaders regarding his death.

Furthermore, far-left news source Democracy Now! presented Palestinian claims without even mentioning his treatment by Israeli medical personnel or relaying the Israeli Prison Service’s statement.

The Associated Press’ otherwise reasonable coverage of Nasser Abu Hamid’s death notes that “Abu Hamid’s death came as one of the deadliest years in Israeli-Palestinian fighting in recent decades draws to a close,” seemingly connecting his death from cancer to the uptick in violence between Israeli security forces and violent Palestinian groups that was observed this year.

While the Palestinian Authority appears hellbent on using Abu Hamid’s death to incite further violence, his death from natural causes is completely unconnected to the rise in violence that was already taking place.

Therefore, instead of contributing to the Palestinian incitement and inflaming a volatile situation, media organizations should avoid parroting unfounded allegations made by Palestinian officials and political leaders without providing their audience with the Israeli response to these claims.
Media Captive to Palestinian Propaganda on Ill Prisoners Who ‘Die in Jail’
To Reuters’ credit, the news organization quickly followed up on CAMERA’s communication, correcting the headline and adding information about the hospital within the article itself. Thus, the amended headline now accurately reads: “Senior Palestinian militant jailed by Israel dies of cancer.” In addition, editors commendably appended the following note to the bottom of the article alerting readers to the change:
(This Dec. 20 story has been corrected to remove reference to the Palestinian militant dying in an Israeli jail in the headline)

Editors also added the following information to the article: “After Abu Hmaid’s health condition deteriorated, the Prisons Service moved him to a hospital outside the jail … “

Haaretz likewise published headlines alleging Abu Hmeid died in jail, while the accompanying articles accurately noted he died in the hospital. Yesterday’s headline incorrectly reported: “Palestinians Call for General Strike After Jailed Fatah Leader Dies in Israeli Prison.” Similarly, today’s headline had erred: “Israel Refuses to Hand Over Body of Palestinian Who Died in Prison.”

Notably, the Hebrew counterparts (here and here) of these headlines do not state that Abu Hamid died in prison.

In response to communication from CAMERA, editors corrected today’s headline, which now accurately states: “Israel Refuses to Hand Over Body of Palestinian Who Died of Cancer.” As of this writing, editors have yet to correct the second Haaretz headline.

Meanwhile, The Jerusalem Post remains the only outlier, having not taken any steps to set the record straight on its erroneous headline: “Ramallah lynch participant dies in Israeli prison, PA claims wrongdoing.”

The Jerusalem Post rightly reported in the second paragraph that Abu Hmeid “died while hospitalized at Yitzhak Shamir Medical Center,” contradicting the erroneous claim in the opening paragraph that he died in “an Israeli prison hospital.” Asaf Harofeh/Shamir Medical Center is a normal hospital serving the general population, as any Israel resident, especially one writing for a local newspaper, ought to know. It is in no way a “prison hospital.”
Update 11:50 am EST: Jerusalem Post Corrects

Following the publication of this post, The Jerusalem Post corrected as well. The corrected headline states: "Ramallah lynch participant dies as Israeli prisoner, PA claims wrongdoing." In addition, editors removed the inaccurate claim in the first paragraph that Abu Hmeid died in "an Israeli prison hospital." The paragraph now reports that he "died as an Israeli prisoner while undergoing treatment under guard in a hospital."

Israel to hold body of Fatah terrorist to negotiate with Hamas
Israel will hold onto the body of Nasser Abu Hamid, one of the founders of Fatah's al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, as part of efforts to negotiate a deal with Hamas, Defense Minister Benny Gantz announced on Wednesday morning.

The deal Gantz is hoping to achieve would return captured Israelis Avera Mengistu and Hisham al-Sayed, who have been held in Gaza since 2014 and 2015 respectively. It would also see the return of the bodies of Lt. Hadar Goldin and Sgt. Oron Shaul who were killed during Operation Protective Edge in 2014.

Gantz said that his decision was simply following protocol already approved by the security cabinet, although Israel has swung wildly back and forth on returning the bodies of Palestinian terrorists in the past.

The move was unusual because it appears that Jerusalem is intentionally linking the return of a Fatah militant to negotiations with Hamas, whereas in the past, Israel has preferred to delink such issues so as not to empower Gaza’s current rulers.

It was also an unusual move since Abu Hamid died while in Israeli custody serving a life sentence, whereas most other cases of holding back terrorists’ bodies occurred after they were killed in the field.
Pope meets families of Israelis held captive by Hamas in Gaza
Pope Francis met with the families of Israelis being held captive by Hamas in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, part of a humanitarian delegation.

The pontiff met with the families of Lt. Hadar Goldin and Lt. Oron Shaul (he was promoted post-posthumously), whose remains are being held by the terror organization that rules Gaza, and Israeli civilians Avera Mengistu and Hisham al-Sayed, who have been illegally held captive by Hamas in the Strip for several years.

Goldin and Shaul were killed in action during “Operation Protective Edge,” Israel’s war with Hamas in the summer of 2014, and their bodies have been held by Hamas since. The terrorist organization claims they were captured alive.

The pope said, “It is so difficult to comfort a mother’s tears.”

Francis offered prayers for the swift and safe return of the living captives to their families. The Israeli delegation was accompanied by Ambassador to the Vatican Raphael Schutz and the head of the Diaspora and Religious Affairs section at the Foreign Ministry, Shuli Davidovich.

The delegation held a 45-minute conversation with Francis and asked for his assistance in bringing their family members home.

Israeli forces nab Hamas member over northern West Bank shooting attack
Israeli security forces on Wednesday afternoon arrested a member of the Hamas terror group suspected of being involved in a shooting attack in the northern West Bank over the weekend, police and the Shin Bet security agency said.

On Friday, Palestinian gunmen opened fire at an Israeli-owned car near the unauthorized outpost of Havat Gilad, south of the West Bank city of Nablus. The Israeli motorist was unharmed in the shooting, but the gunfire — at least four shots — shattered the car’s windows and struck the driver’s headrest.

Border Police troops on Wednesday entered Nablus to arrest Mujahid al-Talfiti, 25, over his alleged involvement in the attack. Two other suspects were arrested over the attack earlier this week.

Palestinian media reports said al-Talfiti was detained after Israeli forces surrounded a building he was in.

Al-Talfiti had been formerly jailed in Israel over various terror activities and his affiliation with the Hamas terror group, according to the Shin Bet.

There were no reports of any major clashes during the raid in Nablus.

The Nablus-based Lion’s Den terror group claimed responsibility for the attack but did not provide any evidence.

In recent months, Palestinian gunmen have repeatedly targeted military posts, troops operating along the West Bank security barrier, Israeli settlements and civilians on the roads.
PA denies releasing Lions’ Den members as group resumes shooting attacks
The Nablus-based Lions’ Den armed group has managed to recruit new members who are responsible for the resumption of the group’s attacks on the IDF, Palestinian sources confirmed on Wednesday.

The number of Lions’ Den gunmen currently stands at 40 to 50, the sources claimed, adding that some of the new members were from surrounding refugee camps and villages.

Earlier this month, the group, which is based in the Old City of Nablus, held a joint rally with gunmen belonging to the Balata Battalion from the nearby Balata Refugee Camp.

Members of the two groups said in recent interviews that they have decided to increase cooperation between them.

Sending a message
The rally, attended by dozens of gunmen from the two groups, aimed to send a message to both Israel and the Palestinian Authority that, contrary to claims in some media outlets, the Lions’ Den has not ceased to exist.

The show of force was the first of its kind since Israeli security forces killed a number of Lions’ Den commanders, including Wadee al-Houh, several weeks ago.

Several members of the group have since turned themselves into the Palestinian security forces for fear of being arrested or killed by the IDF.

The Lions’ Den claimed responsibility for three shooting attacks against IDF soldiers and installations in the Nablus area over the past 48 hours. In the past, the group took credit for similar attacks.

A senior Palestinian Authority official, meanwhile, denied that some of the gunmen who surrendered to the Palestinian security forces have been released.

“They are still staying with us,” the official told The Jerusalem Post, referring to the gunmen. “They’re not allowed to leave the [security] installations.”

Among those held by the Palestinian security forces are Mahmoud al-Banna, Mohammed Tabanja, Mohammed Yaish, Emad Ja’ara and Bara’ Izhiman – all senior members of the Lions’ Den.

One of the founders and funders of the Lions’ Den, Mosab Shtayyeh, who was arrested by Palestinian intelligence officers in September, also remains in detention in a Palestinian security facility in Jericho.
PMW: Weaponizing the death of Palestinian kids to attack Israel in the ICC
The Palestinian version of eating your cake and leaving it whole is particularly macabre and sinister. On the one hand, the Palestinian Authority actively brainwashes Palestinian kids to hate, kill, and be killed. Having sent the kids to die, the PA then uses the death of the kids as a means to attack Israel, in any forum possible, including the International Criminal Court (ICC), alleging that it is Israel that is responsible for the many Palestinian kids and youth dying.

Palestinian Media Watch has exposed how the PA indoctrinates Palestinian youth to seek “Martyrdom” i.e., Shahada - Death for Allah for “Palestine” and glorifies terrorist “Martyrs” who heeded the PA call - especially teen terrorists who died in violent confrontations with Israel.

The PA and Fatah convince young Palestinian kids to take to violence and terror by actively promoting violence and glorifying past terrorists. In addition, they arrange events at which children dress as soldiers, pose with real weapons, making them feel like soldiers of a worthy cause.

The following are photos from one event illustrating this PA/Fatah indoctrination of children. When the Qalqilya branch of Fatah's Lion Cubs and Flowers children's movement participated in a ceremony marking the anniversary of the death of former PLO and PA Chairman Yasser Arafat and the 1988 Palestinian declaration of independence, children posed with weapons in military uniforms on stage:

A boy is dressed in military uniform holding what appears to be a real M4 carbine rifle. The children are wearing yellow Fatah headbands.

[Fatah's Lion Cubs and Flowers children's movement, Facebook page, Nov. 22, 2022]

This was just one event of many. PMW has exposed that PA summer camps train children to terror in handling weapons and combat and military drills and make children pose for photos with real weapons.

Having actively sent the kids to die, the PA is embarking on a campaign to use the death of the kids as a means to attack Israel in the ICC.
PA TV children’s host
PA TV children’s host: “If the next generation is properly educated politically, it will be the one to remove Israel from Palestine”

Official PA TV host: “The Israeli media, journalism, and government attacked Walaa Al-Battat and attacked [her official PA TV] program The Best Home, why? Because Walaa Al-Battat is educating the children patriotically…”

Official PA TV Director of Children’s Programming Walaa Al-Battat: “I felt how strong this message is, how the child frightens them. Everything the child says and everything we attempt to instill in the child’s mind constitutes a threat to the occupation… It is important that every message I work on is instilled properly in the minds of our children and [it’s important] to properly educate them politically, because I totally believe that if the next generation is properly educated politically, it will be the one to remove Israel from Palestine.” [Official PA TV, The Cultural Salon, June 25, 2022]

PA lauds Martyrdom-death in song
PA lauds Martyrdom-death in song: “Martyr” is “handsome groom accompanied in wedding procession… to Paradise”

A song is played in the background while images of funerals are shown.

Lyrics: “We accompanied the handsome groom in a wedding procession
And the procession is going to Paradise,
Adorned with laurel, jasmine, roses, and henna,
It is the henna of a groom who delights in Martyrdom,
The hero carries a hero, and the bullets sing”
[Official PA TV, Giants of Endurance, Dec. 8, 2022]

Posters are seen at a memorial event for Omar Manna, a released prisoner who was killed participating in violent confrontations against Israeli soldiers at the Deheisheh refugee camp on Dec. 5, 2022:

Text on 1st poster: “The Popular Front [for the Liberation of Palestine] (PFLP) blesses you [all] at the wedding of its Martyr, comrade fighter Omar Yusuf Manna”

Text on 2nd poster: “In the name of All Merciful Allah: ‘And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision’ [Quran 3:169, Sahih International translation]. The Fatah Movement – Bethlehem/Deheisheh refugee camp branch eulogizes heroic Martyr Omar Yusuf Manna”

Next to Manna is a picture of former PLO and PA Chairman Yasser Arafat, and in the upper left is the Fatah logo that includes a grenade, crossed rifles, and the PA map of “Palestine” that presents all of Israel together with the PA areas as “Palestine.”

A Martyr's funeral is considered his wedding to the 72 Virgins in Paradise in Islam.

Rishi Sunak: UK needs to spend more time tackling Iran
The U.K. government will spend an increasing amount of time tackling hostile activity from Iran, the British prime minister said Tuesday.

Rishi Sunak told the House of Commons liaison committee of senior backbench MPs that he’s “increasingly concerned” about Teheran’s treatment of Iranian protesters, its nuclear program and other actions that destabilize the region.

“Whilst Russia and Ukraine remain our number one foreign policy challenge as we go into the new year, I am increasingly concerned about Iran’s behavior,” he said.

“So I think it is something we will need to spend an increasing amount of time on, going forward.” You may like

The prime minister’s remarks come a day after he called on allies to help stop Iran’s supply of killer drones to Russia for use in Ukraine. He’s previously praised the “breathtaking courage” of Iranian women, who took the Iranian streets to protest after the death of Mahsa Amini while she was in custody of the so-called morality police.

Sunak also downplayed reports that he had asked for a Goldman Sachs-style review of U.K. military support for Ukraine in its war against Russia, as reported by the BBC’s Newsnight program.

“I wouldn’t necessarily read too much into the press reports. Look at my actions,” he said.

Pledging to continue to support Ukraine, Sunak said it is also important to “evolve” the support to take account of the conditions on the battlefield.
Iran’s Basij militia vandalizes UK embassy for 2nd time since Friday
Members of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s paramilitary organization Basij on Monday sprayed slogans on the British Embassy in Tehran in the second act of vandalism since Friday.

According to a report in The Telegraph, the “pro-regime group daubed the slogans seemingly in response to UK support for ongoing anti-government protests.”

The Basij members wrote on the walls of the UK embassy the slogans “den of spies” and “terrorist center.”

According to The Telegraph, “Last Friday, volunteers and passers-by helped the UK Ambassador in Tehran Simon Shercliff,to wipe slogans of ‘death to England’ and ‘close down this spying center’ from the walls - but on Monday morning they appeared again. “

The London-based Iran International reported that Tehran’s municipality erected a banner near the British embassy that reads: “Shame cannot be erased with paint.”

The Telegraph noted that “The Basij militia are the only group believed to have the regime's blessing to take this type of action against a foreign power, and the language used is a hallmark of its members.”

The Basij is a part of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The United States designated both the IRGC and Basij terrorist entities.

In response to the clerical regime’s massive crackdown on protests since mid-September, Iranian Americans and German Iranians have told The Jerusalem Post that Western countries should recall their ambassadors from Iran and expel Iranian ambassadors.

Nobel laureate calls out Oberlin College for 'whitewashing' role of professor in purge of Iranian dissidents
In a new blow against embattled Oberlin College in Ohio, Iranian Noble Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi blasted the liberal arts college for whitewashing the crimes against humanity leveled against its Islamic studies professor, Mohammad Jafar Mahallati.

Fox News Digital obtained the Dec. 12 letter addressed to Oberlin College’s President Carmen Twillie Ambar.

"The process by which this [Oberlin College] investigation was conducted, and its bizarre finding that Mr. Mahallati had no knowledge of the killings, leads us to conclude that the investigation was an exercise in whitewashing a controversy rather than an attempt to arrive the truth," wrote Ebadi, along with the popular author and former professor of English, Azar Nafisi, and Ladan Boroumand, a historian and co-founder of Abdorrahman Boroumand Center for Human Rights in Iran.

Amnesty International and leading international legal experts determined that Mahallati covered up the Islamic Republic of Iran’s mass murder of political prisoners and dissidents in 1988. One estimate notes that the clerical regime, including its current President Ebrahim Raisi, executed at least 5,000 innocent Iranian prisoners.

Mahallati served as the Iranian regime’s ambassador to the United Nations between 1987 and 1989.

The authors of the letter requested, "that Oberlin authorize a third party to conduct a transparent investigation of the allegations against Mr. Mahallati. Your university’s reputation, and your commitment to justice and fairness, depends on item," it stated.

The letter lambasted Oberlin College’s previous inquiry into Mahallati as a sham process that contradicts the values of the college.
