It was the perfect BDSfail. Spanish Israel-haters proved that they were really antisemitic by pressuring the Rototom Festival to force Matisyahu to go through a political litmus test before performing at the festival. Matisyahu refused, pointing out that he was being forced to make a political statement because he is Jewish, and no other artists had to, and Rototom canceled his concert.
The Spanish government condemned the festival, and Rototom did a U-turn, to much publicity. Matisyahu performed defiantly. And the world saw that the BDSers are really BSers when they claim not to be antisemitic.

This is the woman who rudely refused to answer a question about horses from s 13 year old because the person asking lived in Israel. Because she is so moral. The story also hit the papers and made Levine into an international joke.
