- 2023 terror, Al Quds Brigades, Al-Ayyam, Ashraf Murad Saadi, celebrating terror, child soldier, Electronic Intifada, glorifying terror, international law, sex crimes
Most of the coverage of the IDF drone strike on June 21 says that one of the victims, from Islamic Jihad, was 17-year old Ashraf Murad Saadi. Islamic Jihad's own press release for the attack said that their heroic martyr Saadi was 17, and most of the world's media accepted that as his real age.
But Saadi wasn't 17. He was 15.
Electronic Intifada mentioned his real age. And so did an article in Al Ayyam a week after his death, where it was clear that his mother knew that Saadi was a member of a terror organization.
She said, "When Ashraf went out of the house in the evening hours, I felt a lump in my heart, and I watched him until he passed out of my sight, and I said to myself that I would not see him again."
But, of course, she is proud of him. She doesn't say a word about trying to seriously stop him or forbid him from getting mixed up with militants, the way a normal, caring parent would.
Both that article, and a newer obituary in the Al Quds Brigades website, say that his birthday was April 14, 2008. That means that Saadi turned 15 only two months before.
If you ever had any doubt that Islamic Jihad recruits children barely out of puberty, this is proof positive.
But it turns darker than that.
Saadi was killed in a car along with two much older terrorists. They were 27 and 28.
Why would any older terrorists want to plan activities with a 15 year old? Why would they be hanging out together at nighttime?
Being a child soldier might not be the only child abuse that Ashraf Murad Saadi was subjected to.

- Ahmed Abu Jazar, Electronic Intifada, future martyr, Islamic Jihad, Israeli prisons, martyrdom, PIJ, resistance, supporting terror, terror training
Earlier this year, Israel transferred some 70 prisoners to a new prison where they were isolated from each other, causing bitter complaints by Palestinian "prisoner rights" groups.
We may now have a reason why.
And the terror group notes that his arrest was not only on the charge of being a member, but also for participating in multiple terror attacks. His original sentence was extended when he tried to smuggle mobile phones into the prison.
In an interview with the Al Quds Brigades site, Abu Jazar says that Israeli prisons are training schools for terror: He said "the heroic prisoners were able to transform their detention centers into militant and revolutionary schools that contribute to raising the pace of their belonging and devotion to their people and their national cause, despite the deprivation, harassment and attacks they are subjected to."
Electronic Intifada had a fawning article about him when his sentence was extended in September, pretending that he was arrested for no legitimate reason and implying that he was practically a child. It also noted that he received a master's degree while in the inhumane Israeli prisons.

- 1941, antisemitism, blame Jews, conspiracy theories, Electronic Intifada, IfNotNow, Jews have always been Zionist, justifying antisemitism, Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle
Modern antisemitic groups like Electronic Intifada, IfNotNow and others like to claim that they aren't antisemitic - the real antisemites are the Jews (they say "Zionists.")
It turns out that even that argument was used by the classic antisemites of history.
This op-ed in The Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle, October 03, 1941 shows that this argument was used by the antisemitic "America First Committee."
This op-ed shows a methodology of antisemitism that remains popular today.
"That's the trick, the technique and the plan of the anti-Semite. Blame the Jews for everything bad, then deny that it is anti-Semitism, and then blame the Jews themselves for bringing up the subject at all."

- 2017, antisemitism, Arabi21, Electronic Intifada, history, Jews, Joseph Massad, Khazar, Khazar libel, logical fallacy, revisionist history
We've discussed Columbia University professor Joseph Massad before and noted his antisemitism and bigotry since this blog began in 2004.
In an article for Arabi21, Massad strongly indicates that he subscribes to the discredited Khazar theory. While it is not the main point of his article, he writes, "The Zionists of European Jews claimed that they are the descendants of the ancient Palestinian Hebrews and that their settlement project is nothing more than a 'return' to their ancient country, Israel....The pan-Jewish nationalism of European Zionism, which sought to re-establish the glories of the 'Jewish' kingdoms of the Palestinian Hebrews (who were appropriated by the Zionists as ancestors of Europeans who had converted to Judaism), was portrayed as 'progressive' and socialist."
This is similar to what he wrote in English for Electronic Intifada in 2017, saying that European Jews were converts to Judaism.
The Wikipedia entry on the genetics of Ashkenazic Jews shows that nearly all studies find their origin is in the Middle East. So Massad, in the 2017 article, makes his argument that most European Jews as converts by calling it "an established historical fact."
That is "proof by assertion."
The usual version of the theory that Jews are converts is the Khazar theory, which has also been repeatedly debunked from genetic, historical, linguistic and other perspectives. It is embraced by Palestinians because their entire claim of indigeneity is destroyed when another people were there first and most Palestinian Arab families proudly trace their ancestry to Arabia. (The Palestinian Christians, on the other hand, seem to be descended from Jews.)
Since the truth is not on their side, they need to push the Khazar lie. And that lie is meant to say that Jews don't have any historic ties to the Jewish homeland.
Denying Jewish history is just as antisemitic as denying the Holocaust.

- "pro-Palestinian", Ali Abunimah, anti-Zionist Jews, antisemitism, Electronic Intifada, jew hatred, leftists, max blumenthal, Mondoweiss, neo-Nazi, Petra MB
EoZ contributor Petra Marquardt-Bigman writes in The Forward that the white nationalist Pittsburgh mass murderer also hated Israel, and he was a fan of neo-Nazi sites that loved to quote anti-Israel sites.
To give one example he would reproduce posts from a disgusting blog with the disgusting name Diversity Macht Frei. The author of the blog say he's a fan of Electronic Intifada, "which publishes a lot of good research on the Jews, if you can ignore their disturbing sympathy for brown people.”
The blogger often quotes not only Ali Abunimah, but also Mondoweiss several times and Max Blumenthal: (I'm not linking to the site.)
Neo-Nazis are quite aware that these leftist sites agree with them about Jews. At least the white nationalists are honest as to their Jew hatred; the far Left and "pro-Palestinian" sites pretend that they care about human rights and swear up and down they aren't antisemitic.
The neo-Nazis and "pro-Palestinian" sites agree that Jews and the Jewish state are their misfortune. The only real difference is that the far Left sites will quote anti-Zionist Jews as proof that they aren't antisemitic; the far right will quote the same to lend proof to their own proud antisemitism - even the Jews admit that the Jews are as evil as they say.
The irony is that EI and Mondoweiss and Blumenthal and company will happily trot out the most bizarre relationships to "prove" that Zionists are antisemitic - when the antisemites are openly praising the far Left and passionately hate the Zionists.
We have lots of ideas, but we need more resources to be even more effective. Please donate today to help get the message out and to help defend Israel.

I’ve also recently been reading the book “Goliath: Life and Loathing in Greater Israel” by the Jew Max Blumenthal. Some of the details about the systematic ethnic discrimination the Israeli government routinely practises are amazing. Equally amazing is the fact that this is almost completely unknown in the wider world. For example, he describes a law that requires any Gentile who has a relationship with a Jewish girl to register it with the government and provide documentation to the government that the girl’s parents approve of her having a relationship with a non-Jew!!Obviously, the quality of research by neo-Nazis is roughly the same as that of Max Blumenthal - both hawk anti-Jewish and anti-Israel lies.

- "pro-Palestinian", Arab apartheid, Electronic Intifada, Palestinian refugees, Purim, refugees, Right of return
As I was reading the megillah this Purim, it occurred to me that the most resonant part of the story today is that Haman's hate for Jews was so irrational, although he pretended to justify it using weak arguments that people are more than willing to swallow to justify their own bigotry.
It is exactly the same today, as the Israel-haters are completely irrational. Their hate comes first, and their justifications come later. Answer their points and they will come up with others, because the entire basis of their antipathy to Jews is baseless, irrational hate.
The biggest lie they say is that they are "pro-Palestinian."
It just occurred to me that people who claim to be "pro-Palestinian" - like the entire staff at Electronic Intifada - are against any Palestinian being naturalized in any Arab country, and in fact they will say they are against Palestinians becoming citizens of any other country until they can "return" to destroy Israel. To these supposed lovers of all things Palestinian, they demand that millions of Arabs with Palestinian ancestry remain stateless, indefinitely.
What love they show!
But there is one recent exception where they fought mightily for a Palestinian to be a citizen of another country.
Terrorist Rasmea Odeh, as they fought hard to allow her to remain an American citizen. And even that they tried to justify on the basis of whatever crazy legal arguments they could find to hang their love for a murderer of Jews on.
Purim teaches us that the haters of Jews and Israel aren't ever going to go away. All we can do is win, over and over again.
We have lots of ideas, but we need more resources to be even more effective. Please donate today to help get the message out and to help defend Israel.

By Petra Marquardt-Bigman
We have lots of ideas, but we need more resources to be even more effective. Please donate today to help get the message out and to help defend Israel.
A few days ago, Ali Abunimah’s Electronic Intifada published
a
story about the situation in Gaza that started out with the untimely demise
of Nidal al-Jaafari, a recently married 29-year-old, who “was killed on 17
August in a suicide bombing near Gaza’s boundary with Egypt.”
Since Nidal al-Jaafari was a member of the Qassam Brigades,
he would have certainly been among those who would celebrate any suicide
bombing targeting Israelis. But other Islamist terror groups love suicide
bombings just as much as Hamas, and Jaafari was killed in a “bombing [that] was
attributed to the Islamic State group.”
Unsurprisingly, Abunimah’s Electronic Intifada
doesn’t mention terrorism in this story that is really about one terrorist
group – namely Hamas – being forced to fight another terrorist group – ISIS –
in order to appease the Egyptians.
The reader learns that already in June, “Hamas also began clearing a buffer zone along its boundary with Egypt” –
and the link leads to an article in Ha’aretz that notes that this “will
force a lot of families out of their homes.” Well, if even one Palestinian faced
the prospect of being forced to move just a few yards because of Israel,
Abunimah’s Electronic Intifada would have had plenty to say about this
terrible hardship…
But now that
Egypt is forcing Hamas to confront ISIS supporters in Gaza, it’s of course time
to trot out the usual variations of the Nazi slogan “The Jews are our
misfortune” – so here goes:
“Some also see an Israeli hand in the area.
Akram Attalla, a political analyst and columnist for al-Ayyam newspaper,
speculated that Islamic State in Gaza and the Sinai is funded by Israel in
order to undermine Hamas.
‘Israel is aware that the Palestinians have adapted to the division among
them and the siege,’ he told The Electronic Intifada. ‘Hence, Israel is trying
to create groups that can wear Hamas down.’
Omar Jaara, an Israel affairs expert and lecturer at An-Najah National
University in the West Bank, echoed this theory. Islamic State, he said, is a ‘tool
controlled by Israel to maintain instability’ at the boundary with Egypt. As
the group’s threat to Egypt grows, he added, it becomes a ‘wild card’ that
Israel can wield against Hamas.”
Well, if even an
“Israel affairs expert and lecturer at An-Najah National University” thinks
Israel is behind ISIS, there must be something to it, right? And indeed, I
think no one can deny that this view reflects as much “expertise” as Dr. Omar
Ja’ara’s amazing performance on Palestinian TV a few years ago, when he explained that “Moses the Muslim” led “the first
Palestinian liberation through armed struggle to liberate Palestine from the
nation of giants led by Goliath.” As he said: “This is our logic and this is
our culture.”
