Judging from its Twitter feed, the IPU seems to spend a lot of time concentrating on women's issues. While it deplored Israel's "regularization law" and it has released plenty of anti-Israel documents, it doesn't seem to be as obsessed with Israel as most international bodies.
Kuwait wants to change that.
The head of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, Marzouq Al-Ghanim, says that Muslim majority states - which make up 57 of its members - should band together and expel Israel from the body, since there is no country that has the right to veto any resolution.
The USm which doesn't have a parliament, is not a member of the IPU.
Ghanim is urging the delegates at the Second Conference of Arab Parliaments meeting in Cairo this weekend to work together to expel the Knesset from the body.
