Latma: The Kerry peace plan and the Heath Minister's organ donor program

Return of the yellow star
Back to the yellow star; what is the tactical word for Jude? What caricature now gets up everyone’s nose? In the post Holocaust era it is infra dig to hate Jews, publicly at least. So the Jude that everyone loved to hate has transmogrified into a Zionist. Nowadays people don’t hate Jews, they hate Zionists.
Often when their guard is down they’ll admit that one means the other. Be careful to say Zionist, warned Azzam Al-Tamimi, Director of London-based Institute of Islamic Political Thought, believing he was out of earshot. “There is an organization called MEMRI, and it monitors your channel, as well as Al-Jazeera TV, Al-Hiwar TV, Al-Quds TV… all the channels…. Therefore, my advice to my brothers in Al-Aqsa TV and the other Arab channels is that we must be very careful when we use the term ‘Jews’.”
BDS fail: Alicia Keys continues to fight against anti-Israel bigotry
And now, since the anti-Israel brigade has failed to pipe down, Ms. Keys has delivered a further blow to the BDS movement.
Boycott activists, it would seem, had infringed copyright laws by using Ms. Keys's material in a propaganda video on YouTube. A prompt response, however, from the artist and her legal team put that to rest quickly.
I believe that's what they call 'BDS fail'.
Jews from Muslim lands: The forgotten refugees of 1948
On the recent World Refugee Day, the Israeli Knesset member Shimon Ohayon, whose family fled Morocco in 1956, called on the Arab League to “accept their great responsibility for driving out almost a million Jews from lands [in] which they had lived for millennia.” He explained that “In 1947, the Political Committee of the Arab League drafted a law that...called for the freezing of bank accounts of Jews, their internment and [the confiscation of their assets]. Various other discriminatory measures were taken by Arab nations and subsequent meetings reportedly called for the expulsion of Jews from member states of the Arab League.”
Ohayon challenged the League to accept responsibility for “the ethnic cleansing of the Jewish population from most of the Middle East and North Africa...[and] to provide redress to the Jewish refugees.”
French justice: Overruling the truth
This week the Paris Court of Appeals disgraced itself and revealed the dark side of France’s arcane laws of defamation, elevating the principle of French honor above the value of truth-telling for French journalists. The appellate court’s sentencing of Philippe Karsenty to a fine of 7,000 Euros for the “crime” of speaking truth to power telegraphs how France has decided to treat whistle-blowers who have the temerity to demand that state-sponsored media outlets differentiate between theater and news. Perhaps this second panel of the appellate court was not entirely at fault for its misstep. It operated with blinders, since the French Supreme Court forbade it from viewing the relevant evidence that led the first panel of the court to acquit Karsenty. For the French legal system, the facts of what happened at Netzarim were and are essentially irrelevant. This case was not about getting at the truth, but about protecting the honor of French institutions.
Doctor: Here’s Why Mohammed al-Dura Really Died
Dr. Yehuda David won his case in France’s Supreme Court in 2012 after being accused of libel for revealing that Jamal Al-Dura, Mohammed al-Dura’s father, had lied. Karsenty lost his own Supreme Court case this week, and was convicted of defamation for accusing French state television of deliberately staging the hoax.
In an interview with Arutz Sheva, David repeated his assertion that the Mohammed al-Dura shooting video was fake, and revealed what he believes was the child’s real cause of death.
“Mohammed al-Dura’s father assisted Israel. Hamas murdered one of his children. Then they demanded that he bring a different son – Rami al-Dura – and make it look like IDF soldiers were murdering him,” he declared.
“That child who was supposedly killed by the IDF is alive to this day,” he added.
Anti-Semitic Graffiti on Montreal Shoe Store
In the latest anti-Semitic incident in Montreal, the phrase “f--- Israhell” and two swastikas were scrawled on June 14 on the Naot shoe store located on St. Denis Street, Shalom Toronto reported.
According to the report, the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) contacted Richard Bergeron, the city councilor for the district in which the store is located, who worked to immediately remove the graffiti. Bergeron expressed his solidarity with the local Jewish community in a post on his Facebook page and said that the vandalism was an unacceptable discourse of hatred.

Retired Marine Gen. James “Hoss” Cartwright, a former vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has been told he is a target of the probe, NBC News and The Washington Post reported Thursday. A “target” is someone a prosecutor or grand jury has substantial evidence linking to a crime and who is likely to be charged.

Archbishop of Canterbury: Israel the center of the world
Israel is the center of the world “in so many ways,” the archbishop of Canterbury said Thursday in Jerusalem. He stressed Israel’s legitimacy and right to security, and also spoke, in the context of persecution of Christians by Islamists in the Middle East, about the Christian imperative to “love our enemies.”
The Most Reverend Justin Welby, who has a Jewish father, is the leader of the Church of England and of 80 million Anglicans worldwide. He was enthroned in Canterbury on March 21.
Ford Foundation makes $1 million grant for Yad Vashem trees
The Ford Foundation has supported the work of Yad Vashem’s Righteous Among the Nations department since 2006, according to the memorial.
A JTA investigative report in 2003 found that the Ford Foundation had supported several pro-Palestinian NGOs that promoted anti-Semitism at the 2001 World Conference Against Racism in Durban, South Africa.

A TV news channel in your iPhone, with Wibbitz
Imagine putting your daily newspaper through a shrink machine, with the version coming out on the other side no bigger than 4 inches high and two inches wide. It sounds ridiculous — and unreadable — but that is exactly what millions of people are doing every day with their iPhones, says Zohar Dayan, CEO of Israeli start-up Wibbitz.
