Israel offers quake aid to Pakistan; AP clueless about why

In yet another example of the writers for the mainstream media being utterly clueless, we have this:
Israel has offered Pakistan assistance in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake, Israeli officials said Sunday, in the latest sign that relations between the countries are warming.

Now, relations between Israel and Pakistan may or may not be warming, but Israel's offer has nothing to do with that. Remember in 2004 when Iran was hit by a major quake, Israel offered assistance and Iran refused?

And even after this refusal, Jewish and Israeli groups still went out of their way to help the victims anyway?

I suppose that the mainstream media cannot even fathom that Israel could possibly want to help disaster victims without a selfish angle.
