From Ian:

Seth Mandel: France and Britain Thought the Jews Would Be Pushovers
Voices from within the mainstream Jewish world have similarly been important in getting this message across.

UK Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis noted that Starmer’s plan treats Israel more harshly than it does Hamas: “So many in the Jewish community are viewing this as a profound betrayal of Israel’s quest to live free of terror on its borders. And as is often the case, when the Jewish state appears more vulnerable, extremists at home and abroad are emboldened, and Jewish people are more vulnerable as a result.”

It was also gratifying to see the response from the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, the umbrella organization for U.S. Jewish groups. After Emmanuel Macron made his Palestine announcement, his foreign minister reached out to the Conference to offer to meet with them in New York about it.

Again, this was after Macron went public.

“We are disappointed that our organizations were invited to discuss a policy that appears to already have been finalized rather than being consulted beforehand as partners committed to sustainable peace,” the Conference and six of its member organizations—the Anti-Defamation League, the American Jewish Committee, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, B’nai B’rith International, UJA-Federation of New York and the World Jewish Congress—said in a statement. For good measure, they added that France’s move “not only emboldens extremists, but risks the security of the Jewish people around the globe.”

Their refusal to meet with the French minister sends an important message, as do the reactions around the Jewish world. I’ll let Conference of Presidents head William Daroff, who gave a statement to eJewishPhilanthropy, have the last word and hope his point comes through loud and clear:

“The decision here by these organizations acting jointly and unanimously, I believe, is indicative of a new wind that has been blowing since Oct. 7, where Jewish organizations are not fighting amongst themselves, not elbowing each other, but are working more in concert and focus together on the best interest of American Jewry. And so I’m proud that we’ve come together, all the organizations that were invited, to say, ‘Non, merci.’”
Arsen Ostrovsky: Stop Blaming Israel for Starvation in Gaza; The Real Culprit is the UN
Standing at the Gaza side of Kerem Shalom, surrounded by mountains of aid left idle, the contrast could not be clearer. While Israel was facilitating aid, the UN had effectively abandoned the children and people of Gaza.

Where is the outrage?

Where are all the human rights champions, the activists and NGOs who scream ‘famine’ and ‘starvation’, while blindly condemning Israel? Why are they not demanding the UN do its job, collect the aid and distribute to those who need it so urgently?

The truth is, too many in the international community would rather weaponize hunger to vilify Israel than take real steps to help Gazans.

It’s about keeping Israel as the forever scapegoat and undermining the U.S.-led Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, a game changer, which has at last bypassed Hamas, to deliver aid directly to the people of Gaza.

This isn’t just negligence. It’s moral bankruptcy. And it’s putting Palestinian lives, including children, at dire risk. It is simply unforgivable, that baby formula is going to waste, while the UN is engaging in petty politics.

If the world truly wants to help the people of Gaza, then stop lying about Israel. Stop peddling Hamas propaganda. And start holding the real culprits, Hamas and the UN, accountable.

But as long as the world continues to defame Israel, the one party actually trying to help, with baseless accusations of starvation, while enabling those who weaponize suffering, then the people of Gaza will continue to pay the price, not because of Israeli policy, but because of international cowardice.

I went to Kerem Shalom to see the truth for myself.

Now it’s time the world does the same.
Netanyahu discussed partial Gaza annexation if hostage talks stall, source tells 'Post'
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed partial annexation of the Gaza Strip as a potential course of action if hostage deal talks fail, during a Monday small cabinet meeting – an Israeli source confirmed to The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday.

“It was raised as a serious matter and was debated,” the source said.

This comes after a source told the Post on Monday that Israel will have “no choice” but to expand its military operation in some capacity if hostage talks stall.

In addition, IDF sources confirmed to the Post that senior military officials were kept out of the meetings and were not consulted.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Office added that it would not comment on internal cabinet discussions.

The Post contacted multiple sources within the Justice Ministry with authority related to the issue, but has not received a response.

According to an Israeli source, the prime minister is currently waiting for two things: the possibility that Hamas may still show flexibility in the hostage negotiations and the upcoming meetings in Washington – where Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer and National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi are expected to hold talks with senior Trump administration officials about the war in Gaza.

The official added that he expects the security cabinet to convene this week to further discuss the situation.
How the media breathed new life into Hamas’s war effort
On July 21, Hamas was broke.

The Washington Post reported that it could not pay its fighters or pay “death benefits” to families of slain terrorists. It was in ceasefire talks. A week later, Israel has been forced to create a “humanitarian pause,” that is a ceasefire, with Hamas giving up nothing in exchange.

How did we get from there to here? This is another story of advocacy masquerading as journalism.

On July 20, The Jerusalem Post reported, “Israel, the U.S., Qatar and Egypt are still waiting for Hamas’s response to the proposed hostage and ceasefire deal presented by mediators last week.” A source reportedly told N12 news that “Hamas’s foot-dragging, even if it believes it serves its interests, may ultimately work against it.”

And according to The Washington Post report, “Hamas is facing its worst financial and administrative crisis in its four-decade history, facing stiff challenges in mustering the resources it would need to continue to fight Israel and rule Gaza.”

The article made clear, according to multiple sources in Gaza, that the seizure of humanitarian aid had been a key source of revenue for the terror group. As laid out in the piece: “Hamas profited ‘especially off the aid that had cost them nothing but whose prices they hike up,’ said a contractor who has worked at Gaza’s border crossings during the war.

“Over nearly two years, he said, he saw Hamas routinely collect 20,000 shekels (about $6,000) from local merchants, threatening to confiscate their trucks if they did not pay. He recalled that civil servants for the Hamas-led government said several times that they would kill him or call him a collaborator with Israel if he did not cooperate with their demands to divert aid. He said he refused. But he added that he knew at least two aid truck drivers who he said were killed by Hamas for refusing to pay.”

The Washington Post also quoted sources explaining that the reason Hamas wanted a return to the old methods of aid distribution, before the creation of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, was that it needed that revenue. In other words, at this point, Hamas was over a barrel. Based on that article, it certainly seemed that if Hamas could be prevented from resuming aid theft, the group would not be able to hang on for much longer.

But the very same day that The Washington Post report appeared, 28 world leaders stepped in to put pressure—not on the side that started the war with a brutal and savage attack and that continues, nearly two years later, to hold hostages, but on Israel. These countries made a statement saying the war in Gaza “must end now.” And the following day, July 22, Hamas rejected the ceasefire proposal that was on the table, adding new demands, including that the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation cease operations.

At this point, the international media stepped up, as if in concert, with a cacophony of headlines and photographs on starvation in the Gaza Strip, designed to put pressure on Israel to give Hamas exactly what it wanted—the ability to live another day.

'You're Rewarding Hamas If You Do That': Trump Dismisses European Calls To Recognize Palestinian State
President Donald Trump on Tuesday dismissed British and French plans to recognize a Palestinian state, saying that doing so amounts to "rewarding" Hamas terrorists.

"You could make the case that you're rewarding people that, you know, you're rewarding Hamas if you do that," Trump told reporters when asked whether he would pressure Israel to pursue "some sort of longer-term solution."

"I don't think [Hamas] should be rewarded," Trump went on. "I'm not in that camp, to be honest. We'll let you know where we are, but I am not in that camp because if you do that, you really are rewarding Hamas. And I'm not about to do that."

The remarks came just hours after U.K. prime minister Keir Starmer pledged to recognize a Palestinian state in September unless Israel takes "substantive steps to end the appalling situation in Gaza" and commits to a two-state solution. Trump said Tuesday that he and Starmer, who met Monday in Scotland, "never discussed" such a statement.

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu blasted Starmer's announcement, saying it "rewards Hamas's monstrous terrorism & punishes its victims."

France last week also announced it would recognize Palestinian statehood, prompting Trump to dismiss French president Emmanuel Macron. "What he says doesn't matter," Trump said of Macron, adding that the move doesn't "carry any weight."

Hamas has celebrated the announcements, with one official declaring, "The international support for Palestinian self-determination shows we are moving in the right direction. Victory and liberation are closer than we expected," according to a translation by journalist Khaled Abu Toameh.

Hamas official: Recognising Palestine is a ‘victory’
A senior Hamas official has welcomed Sir Keir Starmer’s promise to recognise Palestine, saying that “victory and liberation are closer than we expected”.

Basem Naim, a former minister in the terror group’s government of Gaza, said: “International support for Palestinian self-determination shows we are moving in the right direction.”

His announcement comes after Sir Keir was accused by Israel of rewarding Hamas by promising to recognise a Palestinian state in the absence of a peace process.

On Wednesday, the Prime Minister also faced criticism from the families of hostages held by Hamas for failing to make their release a precondition to recognising Palestine.

One British hostage freed earlier this year after 471 days in captivity said “shame on you”, in comments directed at Sir Keir, for “rewarding terror”.

“This move does not advance peace – it risks rewarding terror. It sends a dangerous message: that violence earns legitimacy,” Emily Damari said.

“By legitimising a state entity while Hamas still controls Gaza and continues its campaign of terror, you are not promoting a solution; you are prolonging the conflict. Recognition under these conditions emboldens extremists and undermines any hope for genuine peace. Shame on you.”

‘Shame on you,’ ex-hostage tells Starmer over Palestinian state bid
Former Hamas hostage Emily Damari said on Wednesday that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer‘s intention to recognize a Palestinian state “does not advance peace—it risks rewarding terror.”

“As a dual British-Israeli citizen who survived 471 days in Hamas captivity, I am deeply saddened by your decision,” wrote Damari on X.

“It sends a dangerous message: that violence earns legitimacy,” continued the former abductee, who was kidnapped from her home in Kibbutz Kfar Aza during the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas-led massacre, losing two of her fingers in the process.

“By legitimizing a state entity while Hamas still controls Gaza and continues its campaign of terror, you are not promoting a solution; you are prolonging the conflict,” tweeted Damari. “Recognition under these conditions emboldens extremists and undermines any hope for genuine peace. Shame on you.”

In an Instagram post earlier on Wednesday, Damari stressed that Starmer “is not standing on the right side of history.”

Had the prime minister “been in power during World War II, would he have advocated recognition for Nazi control of occupied countries like Holland, France, or Poland? This is not diplomacy—it is a moral failure. Shame on you, Prime Minister,” she wrote.

Also Wednesday, lawyers representing British families of hostages who were or are still in captivity in Gaza said they were “deeply concerned” that London has made the captives a “bargaining chip” with its statement on recognizing a Palestinian state.

Canada will recognize a Palestinian state, PM Carney says
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced on Wednesday the country's intentions to recognize Palestinian statehood at the 80th session of the United National General Assembly in September.

"This intention is predicated by the Palestinian Authority's commitment to much-needed reforms," Carney said.

He explained that PA's President Mahmoud Abbas plans to reform its government, hold general elections in 2026, in which Hamas can play no part, and to demilitarize the Palestinian state.

"Canada will increase its efforts in supporting strong, democratic governance in Palestine and the contributions of its people to a more peaceful and hopeful future."

Carney continued, saying he spoke with Abbas and that "Canada reiterates that Hamas must immediately release all hostages taken in the horrific terror attack of October 7, and that Hamas must disarm."

"Canada will always steadfastly support Israel's existence as an independent state in the Middle East, living in peace and security," he assured.

However, Carney added that any path to lasting peace for Israel also requires a viable and stable Palestinian state.

Reactions to Canada's announcement
Following Carney's speech, Israel's Foreign Ministry said that it rejected the Canadian Prime Minister's statement. "The change in the position of the Canadian government at this time is a reward for Hamas and harms the efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and a framework for the release of the hostages," the ministry shared on X.

Israel Air Force to receive KC-46A refuelers by next year, enabling long-range missions
The first two KC-46A refuelers will land in Israel by next year, as the Israel Air Force continues to carry out long-range missions against hostile threats.

They will replace the IAF’s fleet of Re’em Boeing 707 tankers, with the first two deliveries expected in 2026 and an additional two aircraft at a later date.

Israel ordered the aircraft from Boeing in a deal with the US government worth approximately $930 million that allows the IAF to purchase up to eight tankers to replace its Re’em (Boeing 707) tanker aircraft, many of which are over 60 years old.

The aircraft are strategic assets required for long-range missions to countries like Iran and Yemen, and they played a critical role in the 12-day war with Iran, carrying out hundreds of aerial refuelings over hostile territory.

Israel’s fleet of Re’em planes, the number of which remains confidential, is comprised of former civilian aircraft adapted for military uses, such as aerial refueling for fighter jets and its fleet of transport aircraft.

Able to carry 20 extra fuel tanks while modified for aerial refueling, the 707s are adapted to carry passengers as well as cargo, such as military equipment and ammunition from the United States.
Seth Frantzman: How many men has Hamas continued to recruit in a year?
Yehoshua adds, “The Gaza Strip has been transformed: Rafah no longer exists, neither above nor below ground, with the IDF destroying all terror infrastructure and tunnels in the city. Much of Khan Younis, except for a sensitive area and a humanitarian zone, has met a similar fate.

In northern Gaza, from Beit Hanoun through Beit Lahia and Al-Atatra to the outskirts of Gaza City, little remains. This was not a series of raids and withdrawals but a methodical, systematic operation, albeit slow.”

Hamas appears to continue to recruit. Its forces are mostly confined to the 25 percent of Gaza that Hamas continues to control. It controls the Central Camps area: Deir al-Balah, Maghazi, Nuseirat, and Bureij. It also has forces in Gaza City.

The rest of Gaza is ostensibly controlled by the IDF. Around two million Gazans have been evacuated to the areas that Hamas controls, as well as the Mawasi humanitarian area near Deir al-Balah in southern Gaza.

As such, Hamas can draw on these 2 million people for recruits. Most Gazans are young, with many under the age of 25. This means Hamas just needs to recruit a few percent, and it has many forces.

Israel’s Minister for Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer posted on July 28 a clip on X where he speaks with former US Ambassador David Friedman. This was apparently from a segment that was posted on July 24 as part of the One Jewish State podcast.

“No outside force will be able to take control of Gaza if there are still 20,000 Hamas terrorists running around the territory. No investor will rebuild Gaza if Hamas remains, and things could flare up again. This is our opportunity to put Gaza on a different track and ensure security for decades to come,” Dermer noted in his July 28 post.

If Hamas still has 20,000 men, that would appear to indicate that it has made up for many of its losses in 2023 and 2024. It has lost many brigades and battalions, but continues to refill the ranks. The new recruits may not be able to replace the hardened terrorists who planned October 7. Nevertheless, Hamas has not collapsed.

European Leaders Just Sided With Hamas—And No One’s Talking About It…
In this episode, we break down the shocking move by European leaders—specifically Keir Starmer and Emmanuel Macron—to recognize a Palestinian state while echoing Hamas’s propaganda about a so-called starvation crisis in Gaza. This isn’t just political posturing—it’s a dangerous endorsement that plays directly into the hands of a terror group responsible for the October 7 massacre. As Israel continues to fight for its survival, the West’s willingness to reward Hamas sends a chilling message. It’s a betrayal that can’t be ignored.

"People Are Being MANIPULATED!" | U.N Leave Tons Of Food & Aid To Rot Instead Of Delivering To Gaza
The UN has come under fire for allowing aid & food supplies to “rot in the sun”, while writing press releases blaming Israel.

Earlier in the week, Sir Keir Starmer faced pushback after announcing the UK will recognise a Palestinian state if the crisis in Gaza is not brought to an end.

The Prime Minister said the UK could take the step of recognising Palestine’s statehood in September, ahead of a major UN gathering.

The UK will only refrain from doing so if Israel allows more aid into Gaza, stops annexing land in the West Bank, agrees to a ceasefire and signs up to a long-term, peace process over the next two months.

Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, must immediately release all remaining Israeli hostages, sign up to a ceasefire, disarm and “accept that they will play no part in the government of Gaza”, Sir Keir also said.

Talk’s Mike Graham is joined by former Israeli spokesperson Eylon Levy, who says people “are being manipulated”.

“Starmer Appeasing The WORST Parts Of The Electorate” | Labour On Palestine State Recognition
Benjamin Netanyahu has slammed Keir Starmer for pledging to recognise Palestine unless Israel acts to end the Gaza war, accusing him of “appeasing terrorists.”

Starmer recalled Cabinet to discuss the worsening crisis and said recognition would be delayed only if Israel allows more aid, halts land grabs, agrees to a ceasefire, and commits to peace talks within two months.

He also demanded Hamas release hostages, disarm, and accept no future role in Gaza’s government.

Netanyahu responded: “Starmer rewards Hamas’s monstrous terrorism and punishes its victims.”

UK joins ‘conga line of capitulation’ as nation pledges to recognise Palestinian state
Sky News host James Macpherson says UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has joined the “conga line of capitulation” as he has claimed the UK will recognise a Palestinian state.

“When Hamas terrorists swarmed into Israel on October 7 and slaughtered more than 1000 Jews, they knew exactly what they were doing," Mr Macpherson said.

“They knew Israel would retaliate with the fury of a nation defending its right to exist, and they knew that Gazans would suffer greatly.

“They also knew that Western media would dutifully republish Hamas propaganda with all the scepticism of a Labrador being offered a snack.

“Now, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, well, he’s joined the conga line of capitulation.”

‘Unbelievable’: Keir Starmer is ‘incentivising Hamas’ to carry on with ‘barbarism’
Spiked Online Chief Political Reporter Brendan O'Neill says UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is “incentivising Hamas to carry on with its barbarism”.

“It’s unbelievable what Starmer has done, I think this is one of the dumbest and most dangerous things a British prime minister has done in many, many years,” Mr O’Neill told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio.

“He’s incentivising Hamas to carry on with its barbarism.”

Leftist media ‘pushing’ anti-Israel narratives in the US
Filmmaker Ami Horowitz discusses new polls showing a shift in public opinion against the Israeli government, attributing the change to leftist media promoting anti-Israel narratives.

“It’s a problem, it’s not good, let’s be honest about it,” Mr Horowitz told Sky News host Rita Panahi.

“There’s been a dramatic shift in public opinion in the US, and Israel needs the US, it’s their number one ally … you cannot afford to lose the American people.

“While those numbers are real, it’s CNN and the other players in the mainstream media that are pushing these anti-Israel narratives, which have led to the decrease in support in the US.”

‘Hoodwinked’: Media outlets torched for falling for Hamas’ propaganda
Sky News host Danica De Giorgio discusses the New York Times’s backpedalling on a recently posted image of a starving Gazan child, stating the child suffered from a “serious genetic condition”.

“I spoke last night about the media around the world and at home being hoodwinked by Hamas' propaganda - believing the lies being peddled out of Gaza from the terror group,” Ms De Giorgio said.

“None more than the New York Times, which ran this front page last Friday with the headline ‘young, old, sick, starve to death in Gaza’ with a picture of 18-month-old Muhammad Zakariya Ayyoub al-Matouq being held by his mother.

“The paper has been forced to admit that photo was indeed misleading, as we have been reporting, as I said on the show last night - the child has a serious genetic condition and suffers from cerebral palsy.”

Anti-Israel Activist Network Finds New Cash Pipelines as Longtime Fiscal Sponsor Faces Legal and Financial Collapse
A vast network of anti-Israel groups has found "alternative fiscal sponsorships" after a main backer, the Westchester People's Action Coalition (WESPAC), was exposed in a number of lawsuits as the financial powerhouse underwriting the nationwide campus protest movement, a new watchdog report shows.

WESPAC, a nonprofit headquartered in the affluent New York suburb White Plains, served until recently as the official "fiscal sponsor" for many of the organizations orchestrating violent and often anti-Semitic demonstrations on college campuses across the country. With WESPAC now embroiled in nationwide lawsuits, its partner organizations have been forced to find new benefactors and alternate fundraising channels.

WESPAC's financial relationships with numerous pro-terror groups allowed it to accept tax-deductible donations on behalf of many organizations "directly responsible for targeting Jews with antisemitic rhetoric and creating a hostile environment across the United States," according to a new report by NGO Monitor, which tracks anti-Israel funding networks. Those organizations include National Students for Justice in Palestine, Within Our Lifetime, the Palestinian Youth Movement, the U.S. Palestinian Community Network (USPCN), International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network, the Palestinian Feminist Collective, and Adalah-NY.

WESPAC's support for these groups landed it in hot water, with the organization finding itself in congressional crosshairs over its funding of activists who vandalized Washington, D.C., landmarks when Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to Congress in July 2024. It has also been on the receiving end of a torrent of lawsuits over its support for the pro-Hamas contingent in the United States over the past year. One such lawsuit came from survivors of Hamas's Oct. 7, 2023, attacks and families of the terror group's victims who alleged that WESPAC affiliates function as "collaborators and propagandists for Hamas."

In recent months, "almost all the NGOs" once backed by the charity "have secured alternative fiscal sponsorships," the report states. NGO Monitor's findings suggest that, even with increased scrutiny, the organizations driving the anti-Israel movement on campus continue to enjoy a privileged tax status and access to cash.

WESPAC itself admitted in a January 2025 funding email that it is facing "dire fiscal trouble" as a result of what it characterized as "the well-funded forces of darkness" waging "legal warfare." It asked supporters for $90,000 in funds to "protect WESPAC from the precipice," noting that the threat to its "survival is real." Amid these struggles, WESPAC's multiple "fiscal sponsorships have apparently been dissolved, with NGOs switching to new fiscal arrangements."

The Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM)—which the Israeli government says maintains "close ties" with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine terror group—directed its donations through WESPAC until May 2024, when both groups were named in a lawsuit for blockading Washington, D.C., traffic during an anti-Israel demonstration. By June, PYM "began soliciting donations via Honor the Earth, an 'Indigenous-led organization fighting to dismantle settler-colonialism, racial capitalism, white supremacy, and imperialism,'" according to NGO Monitor.
Palestine Action wins right to judicial review of its terrorism proscription
The High Court has ruled that terrorist group Palestine Action should be allowed to challenge the Government’s decision to proscribe it, with government lawyers denied permission to appeal the ruling.

Mr Justice Chamberlain accepted the group’s argument that it had a right to a judicial review of the decision, which will take place in November. He rejected the government’s argument that there was a POAC (Proscribed Organisations Appeal Commission) expressly for use in such cases, saying that a POAC would be unlikely to be held into the middle of next year, while a judicial review was likely to be held more quickly.

Citing cases of recent arrests by the police of people supporting the Palestinian cause, he said that he considered it “reasonably arguable that the proscription order amounts to a disproportionate interference with the article 10 [freedom of expression] and article 11 [freedom of Assembly] rights [under the European Convention if Human Rights] of the claimant and others.”

Another reason the High Court justice gave for granting the judicial review was that it was reasonable to argue that Palestine Action should have been consulted by the government before it was proscribed, which the government had failed to do.

Founded five years ago, Palestine Action has carried out a wave of attacks across the UK, particularly over the last two years. Many of their targets have been the UK branches of Israeli defence firms, but the group has also targeted Jewish charities with Israeli links. In May it vandalised a Jewish business premises in the heart of Stamford Hill which the group claimed had leased a UK site to an Israeli defence company.

The group was proscribed as a terrorist organisation after two of its members broke into an RAF base last month, filming themselves vandalising military planes. The infiltration of the base caused major embarrassment to the government, and a report from The Telegraph at the time of a Palestine Action meeting suggested that the group was planning to target further military bases across the UK.
