From Ian:

Douglas Murray: Violent, lawless Antifa forces deserve to be labeled terrorists
For years these terrorists have been allowed to attack federal buildings with impunity. They have been allowed to attack and hospitalize journalists (including Ngo) simply for reporting on their fascistic activities. They behave as though they are untouchable.

Of course at this stage many people, on right and left, will make a set of claims. They will say that designating “Antifa” as a terrorist organization cannot be done, because this affects the group’s First Amendment rights. Some conservatives will argue the “boot on the other foot” rule and say that banning Antifa is government overreach.

But you do not need to designate Antifa as terrorist to pull the group apart. Democrat lawmakers in the past (under Obama and Biden in particular) have eagerly pulled apart right-wing groups like the Proud Boys. They have even taken conservative family values groups apart using the IRS and every other means available to them.

Why not use the power of the state to go after these actual terrorists of Antifa?

There is every reason to stop the group. The means of doing so can be debated. But however it is done, if these vile extremists can be stopped it would be a net gain for this country. And remove one of the nastiest streams of poison in this society.

Vile Kirk conspiracy theories
Talking of poison, various conservative influencers like Tucker Carlson, have decided to use the days since Kirk’s murder to pretend that someone else did the killing. Specifically, Carlson and other online influencers, have spent the past week trying to suggest that the Jews killed Charlie Kirk.

Their “rationale” is that they say Kirk — a lifelong supporter of Israel — was turning against the Israeli government. So of course the Israelis killed him. Or at least have “questions to answer.”

Naturally there is no evidence for any of this. But “just asking questions” is the great fall-back for the click-bait trolls of the right.

But is it not just sick but grotesque to use the death of a friend to cover for his actual murderer? It seems that for people like Carlson the Jews are behind everything. Indeed on 9/11 this year Carlson was due to drop a new set of conspiracy theories about the Jews and 9/11.

Interestingly enough, Kirk was often critical of certain tenets of the Muslim faith. But none of these right-wing podcasters have yet said “the Muslims did it.”

Perhaps they don’t have a Muslim fixation like they do a Jewish one. Or perhaps the Qatari money currently flooding through the American information-wars has something to do with it.
Op Nation
Or perhaps the coincidence of that symbolism has nothing to do with this story at all. Perhaps Malik and Carlson simply met one night at a bar by chance and found they agreed about more than they disagreed on, including the idea that Zionists are bad, America’s involvement in World War II was bad, Adolf Hitler is misunderstood, and Winston Churchill is a villain, and the lifelong Democrat Malik then handed over a large chunk of his own personal savings on the spot so that Tucker Carlson could found a new right-wing media empire centered around himself. I.e., both men are morons.

I doubt that, though. A more likely possibility, at least to my eyes, is that Omeed Malik is backing Tucker Carlson at the behest of whatever power it is that does stuff like gather the signatures of 51 high-ranking U.S. intelligence officials on a letter declaring that Hunter Biden’s laptop is a Russian op on the eve of an election. At the very least, the collision of American domestic politics, the US intelligence community and the Pynchonesque aesthetic is too enticing to ignore completely, especially when one tosses in the pervasive social media and spatial presence of however many thousands of FBI agents and subcontractors performing the outward behaviors of “being neo-Nazis.”

That’s not a conspiracy theory, by the way: “Protecting the United States from terrorist attacks” is the FBI’s No. 1 priority, with domestic terrorism being on par with foreign-inspired terrorism—and “white supremacists” being among the bureau’s chief domestic terror targets. As the FBI explains on its public website: “The approach taken by the FBI in counterterrorism investigations is based on the need both to prevent incidents where possible and to react effectively after incidents occur. Our investigations focus on the unlawful activity of the group, not the ideological orientation of its members. When conducting investigations, the FBI collects information that not only serves as the basis for prosecution but also builds an intelligence base to help prevent terrorist acts.”

Anyone familiar with COINTELPRO and other FBI radical infiltration programs in the 1960s knows exactly how this stuff works. Suffice it to say that a good friend in the U.S. intelligence community once estimated to me that by the time the Berlin Wall came down, a majority of the members of the CPUSA and its various front organizations were FBI agents. It is reasonable to surmise that much the same type of thing is happening now, with a key difference being that it is much easier to pose as a neo-Nazi or an antisemite on social media than it is to attend in-person meetings in someone’s basement. It is all but certain, then, that the U.S. government is spending an enormous amount of money, time, and effort pumping out antisemitic and neo-Nazi propaganda into the social media space, in the hope of identifying actual antisemites and neo-Nazis.

Future historians will tell us whether the cure is actually worse than the disease, if there remain such things as “historians.” But either way, the justification for the current wave of domestic antisemitic propaganda echoing the propaganda lines of foreign enemies of America and being paid for in part by the FBI will be simple: Namely, that the U.S. intelligence community has been tasked with protecting the domestic information space, and that the free play of 350 million individual human atoms is simply too dangerous to be allowed to continue unsupervised. In addition to amplifying antisemites, neo-Nazis, and white supremacists, it is also reasonable to assume that “protecting the domestic information space” also means creating or shaping buckets like the QAnon conspiracy, the massive multiplayer role-playing game that more or less miraculously disappeared after Joe Biden was inaugurated. Whoever is in charge of this work would also be remiss in their duties if they did not consider the explosive potential inherent in Donald Trump losing another election, and take measures to ensure that the reactions of his supporters are safely contained. At the very least, it seems like the natural background for the plot of a Robert Stone novel.

Do you follow me so far? If so, here’s another clue worth clocking. Sept. 4 was the kickoff date for Carlson’s first ever 16-city live tour, which was set to feature all of Donald Trump’s surrogates for onstage appearances, including JD Vance, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Kennedy’s former running mate, Nicole Shanahan. According to a source, Tucker had taped a conversation with Vance in August. But the interview he chose to open the curtains on his tour—which he dropped on Sept. 2, two days before the tour began—was with Darryl Cooper. This choice in turn forced Trump and his surrogates into a bind: Either authenticate Cooper’s antisemitic message by keeping silent while sitting chummily onstage with its messenger, or to draw even more attention by refusing to get on stage with him.

They chose to keep silent, and to go through with their appearances. A few days after the Cooper interview ran, Trump, who had Tucker sitting in the box with him at the opening of the Republican National Convention so that tens of millions of viewers would see it, released a video proclaiming himself to be the most pro-Israel president in history. RFK Jr. tweeted a photograph of his father with the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Vance tweeted about meeting an Auschwitz survivor. I suppose these men did what they imagined they could to signal rejection of Carlson’s poison. But their responses came off like hostage notes.

So why is Carlson using his platform and his following to hold Trump and the Republican Party hostage to antisemitism? There are three plausible explanations, beginning with the idea that Carlson himself is an antisemite. Even if that’s true, it’s too boring to be the whole story. The second is that Carlson wants to be president of the United States, and believes that Trump will lose—and he sees antisemitism as a useful wedge with which to break off a large chunk of the despondent MAGA base for himself while denying that fraction to potential rivals. The third explanation is that he’s a Fed. In all three cases, his aim would be for Donald Trump to lose in November.
The ‘settler violence’ lie
For many years now, international media and global organizations have pushed one narrative about Israel’s presence in Judea and Samaria, also known as the West Bank: the “settler violence” narrative.

This specific phrase is repeated so frequently that many don’t even think to question the term and simply accept as fact the vilification of our Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria. However, if history has taught us anything, it is that a lie repeated often enough can come to be accepted as truth—and that is precisely what is happening here.

Recent research by the Israeli NGO Regavim found that the apparent phenomenon of “settler violence” is in most cases simply false, and in many instances misleading or exaggerated.

The study confirms that while isolated cases of violence by Jewish residents do exist, they are rare, involve a tiny fraction of the population, and are dealt with by Israeli authorities according to the law. These incidents are not widespread, nor do they represent the broader Jewish communities in the region.

So where do the inflated numbers come from? The U.N.’s humanitarian office (OCHA) records the statistics. Between 2016 and 2023, they claimed there were 8,332 incidents involving Israeli “settlers.”

But when Regavim dug deeper, it found that many of these were not violence at all. In fact, many would not be classified as violence in any honest or accurate report. The OCHA list includes traffic accidents, school trips, infrastructure work, archaeological visits and even hikers simply walking in disputed areas.

Worse than this gross distortion, OCHA often counts Palestinian Arabs injured or killed while attacking Israelis as if they were victims of “settler violence” themselves. For example, when Muhammad Abd al-Karim Marshoud tried to stab Israelis, the U.N. logged his shooting as one incident and his death as another. Both instances were recorded as Jewish violence, even though he was the attacker.

Once the United Nations’ 8,332 incidents were systematically analysed, only about 833 real cases remained—less than ten per month over seven and a half years. This figure hardly supports the idea of a widespread problem.

Bethany Mandel: One last lesson from Charlie Kirk: We can ALL keep the Sabbath to save our sanity
The murder of Charlie Kirk has left a gaping wound in the conservative movement and in the hearts of millions of Americans who admired his courage, his clarity and his conviction.

It’s also left behind Charlie’s sixth and final book, set to be released this December — “Stop in the Name of God: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life.”

That title now reads less like a prescription for individual renewal and more like a legacy, a call to carry forward one of the most essential lessons he wanted to impart: the need to stop, rest and return to God’s rhythm for life.

Charlie was a Christian, but he was candid about how abiding by a traditionally Jewish Sabbath observance — namely turning off his phone, detaching from the frenetic pace of politics and dedicating 24 hours each week to faith and family — transformed his life.

At a recent Turning Point USA event, he and his wife, Erika, spoke about what this practice meant for their marriage, their sanity and their faith.

“Turn your phone off for one day,” Charlie urged. “No contact, no social media, no work. Your mental health will improve dramatically.”

“Every Friday night, I take a Jewish Sabbath,” he continued. “Turn off my phone, Friday night to Saturday night. The world cannot reach me; I get nothing from the world. It will bless you infinitely.”

Erika explained what that looked like in practice.

“When he turns his phone off and it goes in that drawer, he’s all on for the family. There are no distractions.

“He finally gets to reset his brain. He finally gets to breathe.

“As a wife, there’s nothing more precious than my husband’s sanity … I have seen it change him and impact our family in the most beautiful ways.”

Their testimony was profoundly countercultural.

In a society that glorifies busy-ness, constant connectivity and the illusion that we must always be available, Charlie and Erika preached rest. Not laziness, but intentional rest.

The circumstances of Charlie’s murder give this message even more urgency.

Comedy Cellar USA: “I’m not saying Israel Did It…”: The Charlie Kirk Conspiracy Chorus and its Enablers.
Charlie Kirk’s assassination has sparked a firestorm of conspiracies. The Live from the Table crew, joined by journalist Ross Barkan, exposes how antisemitic tropes are spreading on the right—from Candace Owens’ tweetstorms and Max Blumenthal’s “sources” to Holocaust denier Ian Carroll’s overt accusations.

And why is Megyn Kelly - staunchly pro-Israel - hesitant to call out Candace Owens, even at times praising her, as Owens’ blatantly anti-Semitic conspiracy talk spreads?

Why has Kirk’s murder been reframed around his Israel stance?

Medieval antisemitism and modern anti-Zionism fuse in Spain
As antisemitism’s center of gravity shifted eastwards down the centuries—to France, Poland, Russia, Germany and other countries—Spain became less significant. But the legacy of its anti-Jewish polemics and persecutions, as the eminent historian Benzion Netanyahu (the late father of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu) wrote, “full of the race hatred and race bias that characterized the thinking, feeling and attitudes” of the Old Christians, certainly impacted the nature of antisemitism elsewhere.

The current surge of hatred in Spain, centered upon Israel, reproduces those ancient themes. At its root is the notion that there is an inherent rottenness within every Jew passed down through the generations. It explains why even those Jews who claim to accept Christ as their Redeemer cannot be trusted.

In a modern Inquisition based on rooting out Zionism, that distinctly Spanish conception can play a major role inside and outside Spain. In many ways, we are already seeing it manifesting in the pro-Hamas movement in several countries, where Jews who declare themselves as anti-Zionists still find themselves accused of “tribalism,” “invoking privilege,” “seeking victimhood” and similar thought crimes as defined by the antisemitic left.

As far as the Spanish government is concerned, it is this same legacy that explains why Spain will cynically follow a policy determined by national interests in the case of Russian slaughter in Ukraine, yet suddenly rediscover its moral compass in the case of Israelis defending themselves from Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran. For these attitudes to be cast aside, nothing less than a fundamental reformation of Spanish attitudes to Jews is needed.

Absent such a profound transformation, Israelis and Jews need to understand that Madrid is an enemy. That does not mean that every Spanish citizen is a supporter of the government or in agreement with these antisemitic and antizionist positions, and many of them actively and bravely oppose it. It does mean that our interests are served by frustrating and isolating Spain economically and diplomatically, especially in the United States, where the Trump administration increasingly understands the nefarious role that antisemitism plays in setting attitudes, and eventually policies, towards the conflict between the Palestinians and Israel.

Syria: Al-Sharaa's Campaign of Extermination against Druze, Minorities
"Other groups were reported held hostage in Dar'aa and Idlib, locations where the Jolani regime is still utilizing 'extra judicial' prisons and has a market for the 'spoils of war,' as they call the abducted people. The regime provides no information about their current status or condition." — Socrates Naufal, a Druze from Syria, to Gatestone.

"The Jolani regime (HTS/al-Nusra) declares...its attacks on [the Druze] as a jihad (holy war). The deeper reason, however, is that Sweida and the Druze community have consistently called for a secular, democratic Syria based on equal citizenship, human rights, and the rule of law. This vision directly contradicts the Islamic state government that Jolani seeks to impose.... The Druze stand for an alternative Syria that extremists cannot tolerate." — Socrates Naufal, to Gatestone.

"The Druze are hoping that the US and EU will recognize the real nature of this threat. Washington says it is committed to eliminating ISIS, yet ISIS is part of the forces aligned with the Jolani regime. HTS/Al-Nusra is merely another name for ISIS. Normalizing relations with such a regime means nothing but supporting terrorists and empowering them to expand their influence. The West needs to be clear-eyed: these groups are built on an ideology that rejects democracy as a 'heresy' against Allah's law, denies universal human rights by placing Muslims above all others, and suppresses any attempt at building national institutions in favor of an 'Islamic nation.'" — Socrates Naufal, to Gatestone.

"Jolani committed the massacre in July under the pretext of 'extending state control over all Syrians.' In Sweida, however, he acted selectively. He demanded the disarmament of Sweida but did not demand the disarmament of the Sunni Arab tribes, who are surrounding and attacking Sweida..." — Amr Fahed, a Druze from Syria, to Gatestone.

"Strategically, controlling Sweida means controlling the border with Jordan, which al-Sharaa's regime seeks as part of its political project. The ultimate goal of the regime is to subjugate Sweida and integrate it into the 'Islamic administration' project promoted by the regime, but strongly rejected by the people of Sweida." — Amr Fahed, a Druze from Syria, to Gatestone.

"The Western governments also have not contributed to implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2254, which calls for a political transition in Syria with the participation of all Syrians." — Samer Fahed, a Druze from Syria, to Gatestone.

How much longer will the West tolerate this "experiment"?
The Cyrus Accords: The beginning of a new chapter in Israel-Iran relations
The hostility that currently defines relations between Iran and Israel is not an unchangeable fate. Until the Islamic Revolution and the rise of the Ayatollahs’ regime in 1979, the two countries enjoyed close and friendly ties, grounded in ancient connections between their cultures, a shared and intertwined history, and wide-ranging mutual interests and cooperation — from oil and infrastructure to security.

The Islamic Revolution sought to erase this history by force, choosing to brand Israel as “the little Satan.” Yet beneath the surface of imposed enmity, the peoples still share a memory of closeness and a belief in a different future.

History teaches that sometimes, out of deep crises, unique opportunities arise. Some 2,500 years ago, it was King Cyrus the Great, founder of the Persian Empire, who in his famous edict laid down principles of respect for national identity, freedom of worship and religious belief.

His decree allowed the Jews to return after about 70 years of Babylonian exile to Jerusalem and rebuild the Temple — a move that changed Jewish history and earned Cyrus an honored place in the Hebrew Bible: “Thus said Cyrus king of Persia: All the kingdoms of the earth has the Lord God of heaven given me; and He has charged me to build Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah” (Ezra 1:2).

Today, the two nations whose destinies have long been intertwined stand before a historic opportunity to open a new chapter of cooperation between their nation-states and to create a shared future leading to regional prosperity.

We seek to promote this vision together with our partners, the Iranian people — both those living in Iran and those in forced exile who wish to return once the Ayatollahs’ regime passes. As the Iranian nation longs for a future free of oppression, open to the world, and founded on human liberty and civic prosperity, we extend our hand.

This is the moment for the people dwelling in Zion to repay the noble Persian nation with assistance in rebuilding its country and shaping its future. Naturally, we have chosen to name this vision after King Cyrus the Grinitiative is a joint effort of the State of Israel with those seeking to establish a transitional government that will serve the Iranian people on the day after the Islamic regime falls — an event that may tarry but will come. The initiative to form such a transitional government is led by Crown Prince Reza Cyrus Pahlavi, son of Iran’s last shah, together with his professional team, and is built on hope, pragmatism and mutual recognition.
UN Security Council vote advances ‘snapback’ nuclear sanctions on Iran
The U.N. Security Council voted down a resolution to provide sanctions relief to Iran on Friday, moving significantly closer to imposing “snapback” penalties on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear efforts.

Under the terms of resolution 2231, which codified the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, nine council members had to affirmatively vote to lift sanctions on Iran after France, Germany and the United Kingdom notified the Security Council in August that they believed Iran was not complying with the deal.

Only four members of the council—Algeria, China, Pakistan and Russia—backed Iran during the vote.

As a result, absent further action from the Security Council, U.N. nuclear sanctions on Iran will be reimposed on Sept. 27.

Gideon Sa’ar, Israel’s foreign minister, welcomed the vote on Friday.

“Iran’s nuclear program is not intended for peaceful purposes,” he said. “A nuclear-armed Iran would mean that the most dangerous regime possesses the most dangerous weapon, dramatically undermining global stability and security. The international community’s goal must remain unchanged: to prevent Iran from ever acquiring nuclear capabilities.”
German shop posts sign: No entry for Jews
A shop owner in Flensburg, northern Germany, has sparked outrage after hanging a sign in his store window reading “Jews are forbidden here.”

He claimed it was a protest against Israel’s military operations in the Gaza Strip. Despite police arriving at the scene on Wednesday night, the sign remained in place, according to German media reports published Thursday.

The sign, written in large letters, read “Jews” with “forbidden here” underneath, followed by four exclamation points. In smaller letters it added: “Nothing personal, not even antisemitism, I just can’t stand you.”

The store owner, Hans Platen-Reisch, 60, insisted he was not being antisemitic. “Jews live in Israel, and I can’t tell who supports the strikes and who doesn’t,” he told a local paper. “To me, it’s hypocrisy. They always say history must not repeat itself, and then they do the same themselves.”

Simone Lange, a former lord mayor of Flensburg, filed a complaint with the police. “I went to the police station today and filed a report about the incident,” she wrote on Facebook.

Felix Klein, Germany’s commissioner for combating antisemitism, condemned the act in an interview with German television. “This is clear antisemitism, with direct connections to the Nazi period, when Jews were boycotted and signs like these were widespread,” he said. “This must not be tolerated under any circumstances.”

German Education Minister Karin Prien of the conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU), the first Jewish woman to serve as a federal minister in Germany’s modern history, praised the legal complaints against the shop owner. “Anyone who expresses or justifies antisemitism opposes everything our democratic life represents,” she told a local newspaper. “We stand firmly with the Jewish community. Let there be no doubt: We will not tolerate antisemitism – not in Flensburg, not in Germany, not anywhere in the world.”

The man who managed Banksy moves to Israel
Banksy’s name alone is enough to divide a room. His artwork has long drawn fire from the Jewish community: whether it was the image of the Israeli soldier and masked Palestinian in a pillow fight, feathers erupting as a metaphor for conflict, or The Walled Off Hotel in the West Bank against the Israeli separation barrier.

Simon Durban was there for all of it.

As Banksy’s business manager – the man who handled the money, the projects and the problems. He was there at the boutique inn – “with the worst view in the world” – smoothing logistics before Banksy swept in to wow the world’s press with his chutzpah.Simon Durban was Banksy’s gatekeeper.

And, unbelievably, he is Jewish.

“Did he know?” I ask. “I don’t recall at what point it was spoken about,” he replies carefully, “but it was known at some point.” Clearly.

It’s a sunny day in a garden centre, too quaint a setting to be talking about the artist whose identity Durban spent years protecting. The world still obsesses over who he really is. “We always met as privately as possible,” says the handsome man with blue eyes as intense as the topic. “He was tough to work for. But I learnt how to handle creative people who didn’t want to think about the numbers.”

Banksy’s art has often sparked division, but he is barely a bit-player now, amid the constant headlines. Days before our meeting, Israel was being bombed by Iran and most look weary, but not Simon. He is full of energy, determination and even relief, because he made a decision. “My ‘Welcome to Israel’ flight was in July,” he says simply. “I’m making aliyah.”

The irony is striking. After a decade managing the contentious artist, Simon will soon be living in Tel Aviv with girlfriend, Galit. “It seems it was always meant to be,” he says. Israel has been a thread running through his life.

1,600-year-old coins from Jewish rebellion against Rome found in Galilee
A rare hoard of coins from the time of the last Jewish rebellion under Roman rule more than 1,600 years ago has been discovered in the Galilee, the Israel Antiquities Authority announced on Thursday.

The 22 copper coins, which have been dated to the 4th century C.E., were found last year in a small crevice deep in an underground complex beneath the ruins of the Lower Galilee settlement of Hukok, the state-run archaeological body said.

“It seems that the people stashing this hoard carefully planned its hiding place, hoping to return to it when the threatening troubles were over,” said researchers Uri Berger from the Israel Antiquities Authority and professor Yinon Shivtiel of Zefat Academic College.

The Lower Galilee complex, an underground network of tunnels and rooms built to conceal Jewish people and practices from the eyes of the Roman army, was apparently first created and used during the Great Revolt (66–70 C.E.), and then developed and improved in preparation for the Bar-Kochba Revolt (132–136 C.E.), according to the IAA.

Upon its discovery, the researchers expected it to be dated to the time of either of these rebellions, but to their great surprise, the visages of emperors Constantius II and Constans I appeared on the coins, who reigned during the time of a later revolt—the Gallus Revolt (351-352 C.E.), the lesser-known and last Jewish revolt against Roman rule.

“This shows that hundreds of years after these tunnels were dug out, they were reused,” the researchers said. “Shortly after this final revolt—apparently at the end of this tragic period of hardship, a magnificent synagogue with magnificent mosaics was built on the top of the hill, and the settlement here began an era of long-lasting prosperity.”

“The discovery of the rare hoard of coins in the Hukok hiding complex is a living testimony to the determination of the Jews of the Galilee and their ongoing struggle to maintain their identity and traditional Jewish lifestyle even in difficult times under the Roman rule,” said Israeli Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu. “Finds of this type connect us directly to the lives of our ancestors, and remind us of the depth of our historical roots here.”
Ex-hostage Naama Levy to diplomats in NY: ‘No greater crisis to work toward ending’
Former Hamas hostage Naama Levy on Friday urged diplomats in New York City to use diplomacy and negotiations to free the captives still held in Gaza.

“I implore you, there is no greater crisis to work toward ending, this unbearable situation for the hostages. Diplomacy and agreement brought me back. That same diplomacy must bring back all the people who can still be saved,” she said.

Levy, freed in January in a ceasefire-hostage release deal, spoke on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly at an event held by the Hostage Aid Worldwide advocacy group. The General Assembly’s High-Level Week begins on Monday.

The event was attended by representatives from the United Nations and from countries’ UN missions, including Israel, the US, the UK and Germany.

Levy described being taken captive and held in Gaza.

“I suffered severe malnutrition, indescribable hunger and many untreated injuries. I was kept in unbearable, unsanitary conditions with the constant fear that each moment could be my last,” she said, speaking in English. “My time being held hostage will remain carved into my body and soul for the rest of my life.”

She said of the hostages she met in Gaza who remain in captivity: “Their faces don’t leave me, their voices are silenced.”
‘Until victory’: Ex-hostage Edan Alexander announces he’s returning to IDF service
Edan Alexander, an American-Israeli soldier who was released in May after 584 days in Hamas captivity, announced Thursday that he will be resuming his service in the Israel Defense Forces next month.

“I was held for 584 days. Those were the hardest days of my life. Days of struggle, pain and separation from my family. But tonight, I’m standing here free,” Alexander said at a Friends of the IDF event in the United States.

“Next month, God willing, I will return to Israel. I will once again, put on the IDF uniform, and I will proudly serve alongside my brothers,” Alexander added in a clip of the speech released by the beleaguered organization.

“My story does not end with survival. It continues with service,” he said.

Alexander then switched to Hebrew and declared, “Until victory,” before passionately knocking his podium with his hand two times.

The former hostage returned to New Jersey in June and subsequently met with US President Donald Trump in the White House after Washington helped secure his release.

Following the 30-minute meeting with Trump, Alexander said he had urged the president to do whatever he could to secure the release of the remaining hostages, and shared with him the fear that continued fighting in Gaza could endanger those still in captivity, according to comments published by the Hostages and Missing Families Forum.

Alexander, 21, came to Israel from the United States to serve as a soldier in the Golani Infantry Brigade.
