Victor Rosenthal: How to End the New War of Attrition
Many seem to have forgotten that on 13 April of this year, Iran launched a direct attack on Israel, launching more than 300 ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones against us. Israel – with some help from the US and others – succeeded in shooting most of them down (at an estimated cost of $1 billion). But had a large number of them reached their targets, the destruction and death would have been beyond estimation. It was an attempt to destroy the fabric of our nation and demanded a suitable response. Instead, we bombed an Iranian air defense radar installation. We were told this would “send a message” to Iran. It did, but not the intended one. It informed them that it’s acceptable to shoot at Jews, and they should keep trying. After all, what do they have to lose?

The Majdal Shams attack cannot be allowed to go unavenged. We cannot afford to allow our deterrence to erode further. The wolves are circling. Yesterday, the little pisher of Turkey, Tayip Recip Erdoğan, threatened that he too could invade Israel. Why not? Everyone is doing it. But still more important: we cannot betray our Druze citizens (and those in the Golan who still hold Syrian citizenship but more and more are becoming Israelis). We owe them, and we need them.

There is little chance that we can make the Americans agree. I would like to think it is because they don’t understand the Middle East, and it’s partly that, but it’s also because the Democratic administration is still following the pro-Iranian policy established by Barack Obama. Nevertheless, we have no alternative but to do it anyway.

But what about the danger from Hezbollah’s arsenal? Many analysts think that Israel could not survive the full force of the blow it could inflict. Of course the state of Lebanon would also be bombed into the stone age, but the Iranian puppeteers are perfectly happy in sacrificing the hosts of their proxies if it will achieve their goal.

We are in a bad spot, but there is one strategy that might succeed: that is to strike a massive blow at the Iranian regime and Iran’s infrastructure, to cut off the head of the snake, so to speak. If this could be done quickly and effectively, Hezbollah would be left high and dry, and could be persuaded to avoid the mutual devastation that would result from all-out war with Israel.

Would it work? How would we do it? I am not a military expert. But I do know that we cannot continue along the road we are following today, because it leads only to destruction.

It’s not often that you wake up to the news of your own death.

And yet, when I opened my phone earlier this morning, I had several messages from friends wondering if I was OK, if I knew this person, if I had any idea.

Earlier this week, a Hamas attack on Israeli soldiers in Rafah had mortally wounded a young member of the Shaked Battalion of the Givati Brigade. This is an anti-terror section of the IDF, a special unit tasked and trained to handle threats from fighters who eschew uniforms for civilian clothes so they can blend into the crowds and hide among the innocents.

Last week on July 20, an IDF soldier who had been inside a building in Rafah was wounded when Hamas fired rocket-propelled grenades into the structure, essentially toppling it. The young man had been transported to a hospital inside Israel for treatment but succumbed to his wounds. He was the 331st soldier to be killed in Gaza, an operation initiated in response to the 10/7 massacre when thousands of Hamas terrorists swarmed into southern Israel, murdering 1200+ people.

The 21-year soldier who died yesterday was named Yonatan Ahron Greenblatt.

It hit me like a punch in the face.

Dead at 21.

I knew that this young man would be nothing more than a stray statistic to the Western press, that they would ignore his sacrifice and misrepresent his death, so I went to the Israeli press to learn more about him.

Yonatan was a young man with dark eyes and short dark hair. He looked a lot like me at his age, though he peered at me from behind rounded glasses that made him look serious and studious. His broad, knit yarmulke suggested a religious upbringing. Sure enough, the article reported that he hailed from Beit Shemesh, a religious city due west of Jerusalem.

Why Has the Biden Administration Donated Close to One Billion Dollars in "Aid" to Hamas since the October 7 Massacre?
Since October 7.... the total of US taxpayer funds donated to Gaza as a reward since the massacre on October 7 to $896 million, or close to a billion dollars.

A lawsuit, brought in December 2022 and updated in March 2024, by Rep. Ronny Jackson and victims of terror attacks in Israel, alleges that President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken "knowingly and unlawfully" provided more than $1.5 billion in aid to Gaza and the West Bank since taking office. Biden and Blinken have "known for years" that the US aid is providing "material support" for Hamas' "tunnels, rockets, weapon procurement, and command and control infrastructure," among other terror structures, the lawsuit stated.

The Biden administration has sought to have the case dismissed twice but failed. On June 28, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas ruled that the lawsuit can proceed, and that there is evidence the Biden administration continued awarding taxpayer cash to UNRWA even after Congress blocked funding to that group due to its support for Hamas's military infrastructure.

In short, the Biden administration has donated less to Sudan and DRC Congo combined, where a total of nearly 50 million people face starvation, than to Gaza, where 2 million people face no such thing. What is going on? And where is Congress?

According to FBI director Christopher Wray, "the actions of Hamas and its allies will serve as an inspiration the likes of which we haven't seen since ISIS launched its so-called caliphate years ago." Iran, officially labeled the world's leading sponsor of state terrorism by the 2023 US annual Terrorism Report, calls the US "the Great Satan" and continues to vow "Death to America." Blinken casually announced in a July 19 interview that Iran had reduced the time it would need to create sufficient fissile material for a nuclear weapon "to one to two weeks." He then went on to gaslight the audience by claiming that the Biden administration has been "maximizing pressure on Iran across the board." Why is the Biden administration, under the pretense of "humanitarian aid," drowning these terrorist enemies of America in US taxpayer money? And what, if anything, is Congress going to do about it?


Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh killed in Tehran
The chairman of Hamas’s political bureau was killed in Iran early on Wednesday morning, according to Iranian government sources and Hamas. Ismail Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were reportedly killed by a missile in his Tehran guest house at 2 a.m. local time. The Hamas leader was in Iran for the inauguration of President Masoud Pezeshkian. Haniyah was staying at a special residence for war veterans in the north of the capital, “when he was martyred by an air-launched missile,” according to the semi-official Fars news agency. An Iranian source told the Lebanese Al-Mayadeen network, which is affiliated with Hezbollah, that the strike “was carried out by means of a missile launched from country to country, not from within Iran.” Qatari news outlet Al–Araby Al-Jadeed, citing informed sources, reported that Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader Ziyad al-Nakhaleh was in the building where Haniyeh was staying, on a different floor. Haniyeh was killed in a “treacherous Zionist raid,” according to a Hamas social media channel. The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also confirmed Haniyeh’s death in a statement published by the Islamic Republic’s state-run media. The Israeli government has not commented on the incident, which came a few hours after the targeted killing by Israel of senior Hezbollah official Fu’ad Shukar in the heart of Beirut, which was acknowledged by the Israeli military.
A stinging blow designed to avoid war
Ultimately, Hezbollah’s use of a Falaq-type Iranian rocket in Saturday’s deadly rocket attack on the Golan Heights marked a severe escalation, necessitating a formidable Israeli response. The targeted elimination of Shukr was that response, although it will not fundamentally change the security situation in northern Israel. Only a full-scale war, which would likely last months and see Israel hit with many thousands of rockets, mortars, drones and precision guided missiles, as well as an aggressive Israeli ground maneuver in Southern Lebanon, would accomplish that. In such a scenario, the IAF would need to strike at least 3,000 targets a day in Lebanon—an unprecedented Israeli use of airpower. And Iran could well become directly involved, placing Washington in a strategic dilemma. In such a conflict, the Iran and Syria fronts would likely be fully activated, posing additional challenges. Tens of thousands of Shi’ite militia members, under the command of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), are already operating in Syria, as is Hezbollah. These forces would likely launch ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and UAVs at Israel, further complicating such a war scenario. Israel is in continuous dialogue with the United States and CENTCOM, Hagari confirmed in his statement on Wednesday. While Israel aims to avoid a broader conflict, it is fully prepared for one, according to Hagari. Yet the decision to escalate now rests with Hezbollah and Nasrallah. One way or the other, the residents of northern Israel, some 60,000 of whom remain displaced since Oct. 8 due to ongoing Hezbollah attacks, cannot remain in limbo forever. Looking ahead, there are two main possibilities. The first is that Hezbollah in its response to the Beirut strike sparks a war. The second is that it choses to respond but stays beneath the threshold of war, and then returns to regularly firing on the north as part of its strategy to force Israel into surrender in Gaza. Should a ceasefire be reached with Hamas in Gaza, leading Hezbollah to enter into an informal truce. However, this would only delay a war, not prevent one. Israel’s elimination of Shukr was a calculated attempt by Israel to deliver a stinging blow to Hezbollah while maintaining Gaza as its primary focus. Nasrallah’s next steps will determine whether or not Lebanon becomes the new primary front in the fateful conflict between Israel and Iranian-backed jihadist armies.
Netanyahu: IDF will settle score with anyone who threatens our existence Just as the Israel Defense Forces settled the score with Fuad Shukr, the Jewish state will not hesitate to take out anyone who dares threaten its existence, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned in his first public remarks since the killing of the top Hezbollah commander. In a primetime address to the nation on Wednesday night, the Israeli premier again reiterated that Jerusalem is fighting an existential war against Iran’s “axis of evil,” which includes Hezbollah and Hamas. “Yesterday, we attacked Fuad Shkur, the chief of staff of Hezbollah,” Netanyahu said, emphasizing that the terrorist commander was the one who ordered Saturday’s “massacre of our dear boys and girls in Majdal Shams.” Hezbollah’s No. 2 “was responsible for the unceasing assault against our citizens in the northern communities over nine months of war. He was one of the most wanted terrorists in the world. The US put a $5 million bounty on his head, and for good reason. He was involved in the murder of 241 American soldiers and 58 French soldiers in Beirut in 1983,” the prime minister continued. Netanyahu in his approximately five-minute speech did not mention the death of Hamas “political” leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed in a targeted killing attributed to Israel early Wednesday morning while visiting Tehran. The Israeli leader did note that the Jewish state dealt “crushing blows” against Iran’s terrorist proxies in the region in recent days. “For months, there has been no week in which they have not told us—at home and abroad—to end the war. But I did not give in to these voices then, and I will not give in to these voices today either,” he vowed. Israel has “challenging days” ahead as Hezbollah and Iran have threatened to avenge the death of the terrorist leaders, Netanyahu said. “We are prepared for any scenario and we will stand united and determined against any threat. Israel will exact a very heavy price for aggression against us from whatever quarter,” the premier vowed.
Israel Settles Some Scores
The strike, almost certainly conducted by Israel, was a stunning display of military precision and strategic prowess, made all the more astonishing by the fact that Fuad Shakr, effectively Hezbollah’s second in command, was taken out by Israel less than 12 hours earlier. Just two weeks ago, in Gaza, Israel appeared to have done the same to Mohammad Deif, the head of Hamas’s military brigades, with another targeted strike. These operations underscore a truth forgotten by Israel’s enemies, and even to an extent by Israel itself: when it chooses to be unencumbered by international pressure, Israel is an unstoppable force in the fight against terrorism.

Its recent series of targeted assassinations should send a stark warning to terrorist leaders worldwide: they are not safe. The moment they leave the safety of their underground bunkers—or their fancy accommodations in Qatar, in the case of Hamas leaders—they may find themselves in Israel’s crosshairs. To drive this message home even more powerfully, however, the international community, particularly the United States, should unequivocally express support for the strikes. Better yet, the U.S. should leverage its influence and pressure Qatar to expel the remaining Hamas officials enjoying safe haven in Doha.

Critics of the targeted assassinations will doubtless voice concern over potential escalatory responses from Hamas and Hezbollah, as well as other Iranian-backed proxies like the Houthis and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. But these critics forget that the escalation already occurred—on October 7, to be exact, when Hamas led thousands of terrorists in the most devastating mass slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust.

Others might worry that the assassination of Haniyeh will complicate a potential hostage deal for the Israeli (and American) hostages still held captive by Hamas in Gaza. The opposite is true. Perhaps for the first time since October 7, Hamas leaders and their Iranian overlords realize that they are not as bulletproof as they might have thought. Moreover, Israel has in the past exhibited a tendency to “over strategize” and allow concern about escalation and international pressure to stop it from enacting swift justice. This is no longer an acceptable standard for most Israelis. A society that fails to guarantee justice and security for its people by vanquishing those that threaten it is a society on course for collapse.

U.S. leaders should recognize that supporting a proactive Israel also safeguards American interests. Both Shakr and Haniyeh have American blood on their hands. Shakr, for his part, played a key role in the planning and execution of the 1983 attack on the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut that killed 241 American service personnel. And Haniyeh oversaw the October 7 massacre, in which dozens of American were murdered. Justice for these Americans has now been served, at least in part.

Unsurprisingly, these considerations matter little to America’s enemies, like China, Russia, and Qatar, who have already condemned Israel for the Haniyeh strike. Qatar’s language was particularly fierce, calling the assassination “a heinous crime, a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of international and humanitarian law.”

Despite what is sure to be a relentless campaign by other international actors troubled by a strong Jewish state protecting its people, the United States must stand firm and provide unwavering support to the targeted Israeli operations. Anything less is not just a disservice to Israel but to the global fight against terrorism.
Iran’s supreme leader says duty to avenge Haniyeh killing
Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that Tehran views it as a duty to avenge the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in the capital hours earlier.

“The criminal and terrorist Zionist regime martyred our beloved guest inside our house and made us mournful, but it paved the way for a harsh punishment to be imposed on it,” he said in a statement quoted by the state-run IRNA news agency.

The newly inaugurated Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also threatened Israel after the attack, saying that “we will defend our land and make them regret their actions.”

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement that the assassination “will be met with a harsh and painful response,” adding that “Iran and the resistance front will respond to this crime.”

The Israeli government has not commented on Haniyeh’s death.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said on Wednesday that the blood of Haniyeh “will never be wasted,” according to Reuters.

“Haniyeh’s martyrdom in Tehran will strengthen the deep and unbreakable bond between Tehran, Palestine, and the resistance,” said Kanaani.

Haniyeh was killed “in a Zionist airstrike on his residence in Tehran” after attending the inauguration of Pezeshkian, said Hamas according to the Associated Press.
FDD: Hamas chief political leader Ismail Haniyeh killed in Tehran
Israel has conducted at least a half dozen, precision assassinations in Iran over the last number of years, including high-ranking Revolutionary Guards Corps members and top Hezbollah commanders. Their latest apparent strike should call into question the security of other top leaders in Iran, since Haniyeh was photographed on Tuesday with other top leaders of Iran’s Axis of Resistance, including Hamas, Hezbollah and Yemen’s Houthis. Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, even spent time with Haniyeh on Tuesday.

Haniyeh, 62, rose to power at the hand of Hamas founder Ahmed Yassin, where he served as Yassin’s personal secretary. He was named senior Hamas leader in Gaza in 2006 and elevated to chief political leader in 2017, the face of a terrorist group which he tried to soften with frequent appearances.

Haniyeh was designated by the Department of State as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist in 2018. He served multiple stints in Israeli prison in the 1980s and 1990s, and Israel’s first unsuccessful assassination attempt on Haniyeh was carried out 21 years ago alongside Yassin, according to reports.

In the hours after Haniyeh’s death, Iran reportedly held an emergency meeting of its Supreme National Security Council on Wednesday—with Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani reportedly present at Khamenei’s residence—as Iran, the Axis, Hamas and the region at-large begins to grapple with the fallout.
FDD: Israeli airstrike kills top Lebanese Hezbollah commander
The IDF alleged that Shukr was the commander responsible for the Majdal Shams attack and had been directing attacks on Israel since the start of the northern conflict on October 8, 2023. The IDF also detailed his additional roles with the terrorist group:

“[Shukr] was responsible for the majority of Hezbollah’s most advanced weaponry, including precise-guided missiles, cruise missiles, anti-ship missiles, long-range rockets, and UAVs. He was responsible for force build-up, planning, and execution of terror attacks against the State of Israel,” stated the IDF.

Furthermore, the IDF emphasized Shukr’s longstanding involvement with Iran’s proxy in Lebanon, noting his recruitment into Lebanese Hezbollah in 1985 and his ascent to senior positions within the organization. Of particular significance, the IDF pointed out that Shukr was a member of the Jihad Council, the most prominent military forum within Hezbollah.

The United States had sought Shukr for his role in orchestrating and executing the 1983 terrorist attack that killed 241 American service personnel at the Marine Corps barracks in Beirut. Due to his actions on Lebanese Hezbollah’s behalf, the US Treasury Department also imposed sanctions on Shukr as a Specially Designated National on July 21, 2015, while the State Department Rewards for Justice program offered a $5 million reward for information on him.

Hamas and the Houthis, including other members of the Iran-led Resistance Axis, have issued statements condemning the Israeli attack on Beirut. As of now, Lebanese Hezbollah has yet to comment on the strike and has not acknowledged the death of Shukr. The group has also not responded militarily to the attack, despite credible reports it was moving precision-guided missiles in anticipation of an Israeli retaliation for the Majdal Shams incident.

During Tuesday’s swearing-in ceremony for Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Enrique Mora, the European Union official coordinating nuclear talks with Tehran, sat next to now-slain Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh and other Palestinian terrorist leaders as they called for the destruction of Israel.

Footage aired by Tehran’s official IRIB channel showed that Mora remained seated as attendees—including Haniyeh and Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad and Houthi terrorists—chanted “Death to Israel.”

In addition, a group photo shows Mora standing right behind Haniyeh, whose terrorist group has been sanctioned by Brussels since 2001.

“Yesterday in Tehran, the E.U.’s Enrique Mora was posing for a photo with the late Ismail Haniyeh, head of the E.U.-designated Hamas, for the inauguration of the president of the genocidal, antisemitic Iranian regime,” Daniel Schwammenthal, head of the American Jewish Committee’s Transatlantic Institute, tweeted on Wednesday.

Hannah Neumann, a member of the European Parliament for the German Green Party, addressed Mora: “As an experienced diplomat, at the age of 65, you should know when to accept an invitation to a ceremony—and when not.

“Producing this all-male family picture, featuring a number of persons on the E.U. sanctions list, legitimizing the new Iranian president, undermining all [European Union] foreign policy agendas,” Neumann wrote. “What exactly was the message you intended to send with this?”


Abbas condemns ‘cowardly,’ ‘dangerous’ Haniyeh assassination
Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday condemned the killing of Hamas terror chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, describing it as a “cowardly act and dangerous development.”

Abbas “called on the Palestinian people to unite, be patient and steadfast in the face of the Israeli occupation,” according to the P.A.’s official Wafa news outlet.

Secretary General of the PLO Executive Committee Hussein al-Sheikh also denounced Haniyeh’s killing.

“We strongly denounce and condemn the assassination of the head of the Political Bureau, the national leader, Ismail Haniyeh,” he tweeted, according to Wafa.

“This pushes us to remain more steadfast in the face of the occupation, and the necessity of achieving the unity of the Palestinian forces and factions,” he added.

Palestinian and Islamic factions have called for a general strike and mass demonstrations in Judea and Samaria, according to the report.

Do you know what the real problem was with Ismail Haniyeh?

That he was leader of a genocidal terror organisation committed by charter to the extermination of every Jew on the planet? No, don’t be silly.

That he was leader of an Iranian proxy, used as part of the Islamic Republic’s strategy to destroy Israel? Of course not.

That he led the organisation which committed the single worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust? Oh, please.

No, the real problem, according to the BBC’s middle east correspondent, Yolande Knell, is that Haniyeh (who is now, lucky man, off having fun with 72 virgins) used hurty words.

Reporting this morning on what we must assume is Israel’s assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, Ms Knell told us that Haniyeh was overseeing peace talks – heh, he must have been a really good guy because, you know, peace – and so “despite his tough rhetoric”, “analysts” saw the now dead Hamas leader as actually "moderate and pragmatic". She called his killing "shocking" for good measure.

Tough rhetoric. Yes, that’s it. That was the real problem with Haniyeh. As he put it, recording a message to Palestinians from his luxurious home in Qatar: "We need the blood of women, children, and the elderly of Gaza... so as to awaken our revolutionary spirit." So yes, tough rhetoric. But as for being leader of a murderous cult that butchered 1200 people on October 7? Not so much.

I guess in one sense Ms Knell had a point. By the standards of genocidal maniacs, Haniyeh was indeed “moderate”. The total number of Jews murdered by Hamas does not come close to six million. Not that Haniyeh would have regarded that as anything other than disappointing, given he led an organisation committed to wiping out every Jew from the face of the earth.

As for “pragmatic”: well, he was prepared to let others join Hamas in murdering Jews. October 7 saw at least four other Islamist terror groups take part. Kudos to Haniyeh for not keeping the glory all to Hamas. That’s proper pragmatism for the good of the cause.


CAIR Leader Mourns Hamas Head Haniyeh: ‘His Martyrdom Is Not in Vain’
Zahra Billoo, head of the Council on American-Islamic Relations’s (CAIR) San Francisco branch, mourned the death of top Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, portraying the terrorist as a martyr before calling for Israel's eradication.

"Never say that those martyred in the cause of Allah are dead—in fact, they are alive! But you do not perceive it," Billoo wrote as news broke of Haniyeh’s death in Tehran. "Tonight, we mourn Ismail himself but know his martyrdom is not in vain. From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free."

Billoo is the highest ranking CAIR official to publicly praise Haniyeh, who shortly before his death attended the inauguration of Iran's new president, Masoud Pezeshkian. Chants of "death to America" and "death to Israel" rang out at the ceremony, where Haniyeh was filmed embracing Pezeshkian. Haniyeh was killed just hours later through a reported strike on his luxury home in Tehran.

CAIR is one of the main forces driving anti-Israel protests across the country, with several of its leaders praising Hamas’s Oct. 7 terror attack on Israel. Haniyeh watched the attack from a luxury building in Qatar, where he smiled and prayed with other Hamas terrorists.

CAIR has leaned on the Biden-Harris administration to pressure Israel to ink a ceasefire with Hamas and cut off arms shipments to the Jewish state. Last year, the administration tapped CAIR to serve on its "national strategy to counter anti-Semitism" but later scrubbed references to the group after its executive director, Nihad Awad, said he was "happy to see" Hamas terrorists attack Israel.

Billoo, who has labeled Jewish groups and synagogues as her "enemies," also praised Haniyeh for his cavalier response to an Israeli strike several months ago that killed his children.


Enforce UN Security Council Resolution 1701
Hezbollah, a U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and proxy of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, another FTO, last week used a missile provided by the Iranian Regime to murder 12 children in Majdal Shams on the Golan Heights.

This latest horrendous attack is part of an ongoing war by Hezbollah against Israel that began in 2006 and has continued ever since with Iranian regime backing.

It is noteworthy that on Aug. 11, 2006, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) adopted Resolution 1701. It required:
1. Full cessation of hostilities begun by Hezbollah and cessation of military operations by Israel in response.
2. The Lebanese army and the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) to deploy their forces throughout southern Lebanon and, as that deployment begins, the IDF to withdraw its forces in parallel.
3. The government of Lebanon to extend its control over the area and replace Hezbollah control.
4. Complete demilitarization south of the Litani River by Hezbollah and no armed groups in Lebanon other than the official army and UNIFIL.
5. No arms sales or supplies or related material in Lebanon except as authorized by its government.
6. No foreign forces in Lebanon without consent of the Lebanese government.
7. All states to take all necessary measures to prevent their nationals, which would include the Iranian regime and its IRGC, from supplying weapons, ammunition, military equipment, etc. to Hezbollah or training or assistance in the use or manufacture of such prohibited items.

Despite Israel’s withdrawal from south Lebanon, Resolution 1701 proved to be not just a failure; it is a fiasco. Instead of disarming and withdrawing from south Lebanon, Hezbollah became an even more potent malign force, reportedly armed with over 100,000 missiles. The resolution also didn’t stop Hezbollah from attacking Israel.

The failure of the UNSC and its members, including the U.S., France and the U.K. to enforce Resolution 1701 has had devastating consequences. Hezbollah attacked Israel on Oct. 8, 2023, and has continued its unprovoked war against Israel, causing death and destruction, including enormous fires and damage in the Galilee. It is reported that more than 80,000 Israelis have been displaced from their homes because of Hezbollah’s attacks.
