Abraham Accords special envoy bill passes US House
Reflecting the broad, bipartisan nature of political support for the Abraham Accords, the Special Envoy for the Abraham Accords Act passed in the House of Representatives with a vote of 413-13. It now heads to the Senate.

The bill calls for the creation of a position that would report to the secretary of state and require extensive experience in Middle East diplomacy and an in-depth understanding of both Jewish and Muslim cultures. Dan Shapiro, the former U.S. ambassador to Israel, is reportedly under consideration.

“The addition of a special envoy will be critical for bringing Saudi Arabia into the accords and continuing to strengthen and expand them,” stated Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.), who sponsored the bill. “We are closer to a lasting, long-term peace in the Middle East than we have ever been.”

Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.), a backer of the bill, stated: “We are working to strengthen and expand the Abraham Accords, support Israel’s existing partnerships and increase regional cooperation to counter shared threats.”

The Caroline Glick Show: Why is the Biden administration Funding Terrorism?
Amb. Nides approves money to get Israel, the new "strategy" to fight antisemitism with antisemites and an update on the Netanyahu trial.

In Caroline Glick’s News Analysis, Caroline took a deep look at the Biden administration’s support for terrorism in the Middle East and how its hostility towards Israel impacts Israel and the broader Middle East.

She also delves into
- the Biden's new strategy to fight anti-semitism
- the left's continued campaign to overthrow Netanyahu
- Lapid's testifying in the Netanyahu trial and the inconsistent application of justice.

Senior Biden administration official: Israel’s Diaspora minister ‘does not understand the American Jewish Diaspora’
The Biden administration has joined the chorus of American voices criticizing Israeli Diaspora Minister Amichai Chikli.

A photo in which Chikli is making a face at a pro-Israel parade in New York City, and his unapologetic defense of the incident, is evidence that he is out of touch with the U.S. Jewish Diaspora, a senior Biden administration official told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

“The fact that a senior Israeli official came to the United States and did not have a single public meeting with the American Jewish community, and the fact [that] his only public interaction is to flip someone off or ask them to smile is telling,” said the official, who deals extensively with Israeli dignitaries.

The official requested anonymity because of executive branch rules that prohibit speaking by name without authorization. His comments are the latest in a series of statements from the Biden administration expressing disapproval of the Israeli government’s policies or the conduct of its senior officials.

During his visit to the United States for the Celebrate Israel Parade on June 4, Chikli had a number of meetings with the leadership of Jewish groups in Washington and in New York. None was open to the public, and Chikli changed the location of the Washington meeting to avoid protesters. Other Israeli ministers also faced protests during recent visits to the United States.

Chikli did appear before a couple of larger audiences. He was one of several Israeli officials to march in the parade, which drew an estimated 40,000 people, and also spoke at a conference in New York hosted by the Jerusalem Post, the Israeli newspaper.

At the parade, Chikli was photographed making what appeared to many to be an obscene gesture toward a group protesting the Israeli government. He and his staff said he did not mean to make the gesture and said he was signaling to the protesters to smile.

The Israel Guys: BREAKING: New Details Emerge Regarding the PROTESTS in Israel
If you’re American, you’re familiar with the concept of the radical left mobilizing in what they like to call protests, but what many times also turned into violent riots. If you watched my program last week, you know that similar protests have been taking place in Israel over the last five months. What we didn’t talk about last week however, was the fact that not only has the radical left mobilized with massive demonstrations and riots regarding the issue of judicial reform, but they were planned and funded well in advance of Israel’s new government being sworn in, AND before the judicial reform issue was presented.

The Israel Guys: SHOCKING: Students Wave Palestinian Flags At Hebrew University
Israel is set to approve 4,000 new housing units in Judea and Samaria within the next month, and as usual, the US administration is worried that it will harm their amazing plan of a two-state solution.

Also, the US is set to rejoin UNESCO, the agency that called the cave of the patriarchs in Hebron a “Palestinian World Heritage site”.

And a bunch of students at the Hebrew University held a pro-Palestinian event last week.

Israeli government urged to launch 'military operation to root out terrorism' after West Bank shooting
One of the survivors of a shooting in the West Bank has urged the Israeli government to launch a military operation "to root out the terrorism" in the region.

Menachem Ordman was one of five people injured after the incident which occurred near the town of Yabad on Tuesday (June 13).

The 33-year-old recounted the incident, saying that he “saw the barrel of a rifle pointed at me at point-blank range.”

Speaking from his hospital before undergoing surgery to remove shrapnel from his arms, Ordman said that he was sitting in his car when the vehicle with the attackers pulled up to him.

The father of five told JNS: "They opened heavy fire; it took me a moment to realise that I was still alive. I saw a rifle barrel aimed at me from point-blank range.

"I was standing at the junction to talk on the phone, and then a car from the opposite lane passed by, from which they fired at me.

"I noticed that I had been wounded, there was blood all over the car. I was sure that I was going to die."

Four IDF soldiers were also lightly wounded during the attack. The attackers escaped and the hunt to catch them is ongoing.

"My arms were wounded by bullets, and I will undergo surgery today to remove the shrapnel, and God-willing, I will be released tomorrow,” added Ordman, who is being treated at Hillel Yaffe Medical Centre in Hadera.

He concluded: "I have looked death in the face. They shot at me from point-blank range while I was inside the car. We need to go on the offensive and finish this saga."

IDF releases findings of Egypt border attack, says soldiers acted 'impeccably'
The military chief further noted that IDF commanders met with the families of the killed soldiers and informed them of the details of their investigation.

"Two factors stand out that had the power to prevent the incident - the attitude toward the security crossing at the fence and adherence to the principle of security," Halevi said.

As part of the investigation into the incident, a probe was held in collaboration with the Egyptian military, against the background of the strategic-security cooperation between the neighboring countries, which included a visit by senior IDF officials to Cairo.

"This is a serious incident with severe operational results that could have been prevented, and lessons must be learned from it immediately," said the IDF's chief of the Southern Command. "Despite the severe results, the forces were able to close the circle and neutralize the terrorist in Israeli territory, before he endangered civilians in nearby areas where many travelers stay."

The IDF findings were as follows:
- The main reasons for the attack were the security passage in the fence, which was hidden but not locked, and the poor implementation of the principle of security and protection in the area.
- It is necessary to refine the order of priorities established between the preparedness for an IDF incident, and the preparedness to deal with the threat of smuggling that is common in this sector.
- No faults or malfunctions were found in the action of the fallen soldiers, as they "positively stood out in their actions as soldiers in the IDF."
- The deployment of defense forces in the area, which is characterized by smuggling incidents along with a large number of Israeli travelers, was necessary. However, the split into pairs, the duration of the task, and the method of control had to be considered and carried out differently, and lessons in this area were produced and applied.
- "The investigation clearly shows that from the moment the terrorist was identified, the forces in the area made contact, acted with determination, and neutralized him," the IDF said.
- It was decided to seal the security crossings of the fence, reduce the duration of the continuous mission of soldiers from 12 consecutive hours, and determine a different minimum number for soldiers in these types of missions.
- Col. Ido Sa'ad, the commander of the Paran Brigade, of which one of the killed soldiers was a member, will be dismissed from his role and moved to another position, for his "overall responsibility for the event and the manner by which operations are carried out in his area."
- The commander of the "Cheetahs" battalion will be reprimanded and his promotion delayed.
BDS celebrates Egypt border terrorist in Arabic Facebook post
The BDS Egypt page published a post, shared by the BDS Arabic page, mourning the death of the terrorist responsible for murdering three IDF soldiers in a terror attack on the Egyptian border on June 3.

The post celebrating the terrorist, Mohammed Salah Ibrahim, was published a few days after the attack.

Despite the Facebook post celebrating the actions of Ibrahim, the BDS website claims to urge “nonviolent pressure on Israel.”

The post, on the page with 56,000 followers, had accumulated a total of 76 reactions and 11 shares at the time of the report.

The post read, "In honor of our martyrs, let us step up our popular struggle against the enemy of Israel, for Palestine and for Egypt.

"The Egyptian People's Campaign to Boycott Israel (BDS Egypt) is proceeding with sincere condolences to the Egyptian people in general and the family of the martyr hero Mohamed Salah and salutes the free people of our country and the living forces that are still clinging to Israel's hostility and the choice to boycott it, confirming that loyalty to the righteous martyrs of Egypt is escalating the popular struggle, boycott, and withdrawing investments against the Israeli colonial and apartheid system, and against companies and institutions complicit in its crimes, and escalating popular opposition to normalization in all spheres, especially economic and cultural ones.

"The state of pride of the great Egyptian people and spontaneity of the martyred soldier Mohammed Salah in Egypt comes in response to the advocates of normalization, and so do the houses of condolence opened by our people in Palestine in honor of our hero martyr, so that the Israeli enemy cannot be a natural entity between us and because our struggle against the Israeli enemy is a struggle against one enemy.
Minister outraged after terrorist smuggles semen to Gaza, wife gives birth to quadruplets
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has asked the Israel Prison Service to explain how an terrorist managed to smuggle his semen to his wife, who went on to give birth to quadruplets.

Palestinian media claimed this week that Ahmad Shamali, who is serving an 18-year sentence in the Nafha prison in southern Israel for various terrorist-related offenses, managed to have his sperm carried over the Israeli border through the Erez Crossing with a doctor who made sure it would reach his wife in Gaza.

The wife gave birth in May in a hospital in east Jerusalem and only this week returned to the Gaza Strip, having stayed with the premature babies for several weeks in the maternity ward until they were healthy enough to come back home with her. Upon returning, the story of the unusual conceiving was revealed, leading to celebrations online and a display of the four babies.

Sources close to Ben-Gvir say that semen was smuggled before he became a minister in late December, but he nevertheless sees this as a major lapse and wants to impose more restrictions on inmates.
Al Hurra Clarifies Palestinian Fatalities Were Islamic Jihad Combatants
Last month, CAMERA Arabic prompted correction in Al Hurra after the publicly-funded U.S. news outlet reproduced an Arabic article from Agence France Presse which failed to report that two Palestinians killed near Jenin were fighters belonging to Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), a designated terror organization.

Whitewashing the men’s affiliation with a US-proscribed terrorist organization, the AFP story which Al Hurra published May 10 had reported:
[The] Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the deaths of Ahmad Jamal Tawfeeq Assaf (19) and Rani Waleed Ahmad Qatanat (24) by Israeli military bullets in Qabatiya in the Jenin governorate, northern West Bank.

On the very same day, PIJ issued an announcement claiming the two as “our martyred heroes.”

Notably, major wire services like Reuters (in English and Arabic) and AP acknowledged the two fatalities’ PIJ affiliation.

As part of Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN), which in turn operates under a grant from United States Agency for Global Media, Al Hurra is subject to USAGM’s Standards and Principles which stipulate that content should be “consistent with the broad foreign policy objectives of the United States.” Indicating terrorist affiliations of casualties in conflict would seem to fall under this rubric.
China signs ‘strategic partnership’ with Palestinian Authority during Abbas visit
China said Wednesday it has established a “strategic partnership” with the Palestinian Authority during a visit to Beijing by PA President Mahmoud Abbas.

The announcement marks another step in China’s campaign to gain political and economic influence in the Middle East, where it is competing for influence with the United States.

China is seeking energy resources and markets for its military and civilian exports, while promoting its version of authoritarian government in a joint challenge with Russia to the Western-led democratic world order.

China has appointed a special envoy to meet with Israeli and Palestinian officials, but its experience in the region is mainly limited to construction, manufacturing and other economic projects.

Beijing has long maintained diplomatic ties with the Palestinian Authority and Abbas was welcomed with full military honors at the Great Hall of the People in central Beijing.

“We are good friends and partners,” Chinese president and head of the ruling Communist Party Xi Jinping told Abbas at the start of their meeting. “We have always firmly supported the just cause of the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate national rights.”

“China is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with the Palestinian side to promote a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue as soon as possible,” he said.

Xi called the strategic partnership an “important milestone in the history of bilateral relations,” but its financial details were not immediately released.
PMW: Israel accused of “targeting the entire Palestinian people” after 5 terrorists blew themselves up
Official PA TV reported that 5 members of the terror organization PFLP – GC died as “Martyrs” after they were “targeted by Israeli hostile activities” at one of the terror organization’s “bases” near the Syrian-Lebanese border.

In fact, they were terrorists and died when they set off an explosion by moving their own landmines. But neither the PA TV reporter nor PFLP – GC Secretary Talal Naji let themselves be confused by this fact. Rather the death of the terrorists served them as an opportunity to demonize Israel. Thus Naji claimed that Israel – “the enemy” in his, and usual PA terminology – wants every single Palestinian dead, “targeting the entire Palestinian people”:
Official PA TV reporter: “Five Martyrs from among the members of the Popular Front– General Command (PFLP – GC) were laid to rest… after they were targeted by Israeli hostile activities (sic.) at one of their bases next to the Syrian-Lebanese border…

PFLP – GC Secretary Talal Naji: “The enemy [Israel] is always committing acts of aggression against all the Palestinian people’s sites, against all the Palestinian factions. The enemy is targeting the entire Palestinian people. The enemy thinks that a good Palestinian is a dead Palestinian.”

[Official PA TV News, June 1, 2023]

The PA libel that Israel targets anyone Palestinian and attempts to kill every single Palestinian from the youngest child to the oldest senior citizen has been exposed by Palestinian Media Watch. Even Palestinian children are taught this libel as fact and warned that they are particularly in danger as Israel specifically seeks to kill Palestinian children. In one children’s program the host on official PA TV warned children never to walk alone because they are the target of “barbaric” Israel:
Official PA TV host: "The occupation [Israel] targets children everywhere. In their schools, near their homes... We must be very careful now. We are confronting the occupiers who act in a very barbaric terrorist way. They are trying to kill people everywhere. These are barbarians, my young friends. They try to kill people for no reason, who are just walking on their land. They make various accusations against them. This is called barbarity, my friends. Be very careful all the time. All children under 18, and children under 15, when you go out, your mom or dad, should accompany you, I mean that an adult should accompany you."

Islamic Jihad Begins Military Summer Camp for Palestinian Youth
On June 10, mosques operated by Islamic Jihad held open registration for Palestinian youth to attend military training camps in the Gaza Strip. The camp is called “Revenge of the Free,” which is the name given by Islamic Jihad to the latest conflict with Israel in May 2023. According to Islamic Jihad, the camp started on June 12 and will last for two weeks.

Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, including other militant organizations have held summer camps for more than ten years in the Gaza, often publishing propaganda videos showing children undergoing military training.

While Palestinian militant organizations often tout the camps as a place to promote religious and recreational activities for children and teens, they are primarily used to indoctrinate jihadist ideology, including the armed struggle against Israel. Also, the camps are a promotional tool for Palestinian youth to join armed militant organizations, some of whom are classified as a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S. government. FDD’s Long War Journal has tracked the recruitment of children by Palestinian armed groups such as Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and Mujahideen Brigades.

Despite the camps drawing criticism, Palestinian militant organizations continue to organize them yearly. The indifference to the condemnation was evident during the opening ceremony of a Hamas-run summer camp in 2021. Citing United Nations resolution 45/130, a Hamas spokesperson stated the group is guaranteed under international law to self-defense, including armed resistance.

“What we are doing in these camps is like all the peoples who are, and were, under occupation and persecution, where international law guarantees them the right to self-determination, self-defense, and resisting the occupier by all means available, including armed resistance under United Nations General Assembly resolution 45/130,” the spokesperson stated.

Lebanese lawmakers fail to elect president as Hezbollah pulls out of voting session
Lebanese lawmakers failed Wednesday in yet another attempt to elect a president and break a seven-month power vacuum that has roiled the tiny Mediterranean country.

The session — the twelfth try to pick a president — broke down after the bloc led by the powerful political party and terror group Hezbollah withdrew following the first round of voting, breaking the quorum.

Hezbollah’s preferred candidate, Sleiman Frangieh, the scion of a political family close to the ruling Assad family in Syria, trailed behind his main rival, Jihad Azour, a former finance minister and senior official with the International Monetary Fund, in the first round of voting.

Azour, who is supported by the opposition to Hezbollah and some of its nominal allies, received 59 votes to 51 for Frangieh, while 18 lawmakers cast blank ballots, protest votes or voted for minority candidates. However, Azour failed to reach the two-thirds majority needed to win in the first round.

The meeting came after 11 previous sessions by the parliament — the last of which was held in January — failed to elect a replacement for President Michel Aoun, a Hezbollah ally, whose term ended in late October.

The Coming Cyrus Accords?
Zionism is the legacy of Cyrus the Great and the national inheritance of the Iranians. The Islamic Republic’s anti-Zionism is not a historical norm, but a radical break from history by a radical regime. The Iranian revolution seeks to return to its historical origins, and Zionists must rejoice if it succeeds.

The former crown prince of Iran and the most prominent opposition figure, Reza Pahlavi, became the most prominent Iranian to have ever visited Israel in April. He made history by taking the first step to restore it. Pahlavi’s cautious approach to leadership, out of the fear of alienating Iranians from different camps, has been a point of criticism over the decades. His trip doesn’t suggest that he has overnight become more risk-taking, but that he understands that anti-Zionism is no longer a political force among his audience inside his country. This is an early sign that a free Iran will cease hostilities with Israel and end the region’s most destabilizing conflict, caused by one of the most destabilizing regimes in the world. Only a few years after Abraham Accords, we can now envision the potential for the future Cyrus Accords.

Pahlavi’s trip was as much about symbolic gestures as it was political business, evident by his decision to visit during Holocaust Remembrance Day and participate in the ceremonies. He posted a picture of himself wearing a kippah and his wife praying at the Western Wall. His post’s caption cited the Book of Ezra and Cyrus the Great’s edict to rebuild the Second Temple. On Farsi social media, Cyrus Accords immediately began to trend, with more than 100,000 tweets in 24 hours.

The Iranian opposition leader also met with Israeli government officials, likely to seek their assistance for the protest movement that has been roiling Iran for the last seven months. Minister of Intelligence Gila Gamliel hosted the crown prince, and the itinerary included meetings with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog. Given Israel’s covert assets in Iran, Pahlavi’s following there, and the two parties’ mutual interest in regime change, it is a reasonable guess that they discussed avenues of cooperation to effect change. He had also mentioned that, given Iran’s water crisis and Israel’s expertise in desalination, he intended to meet with Israeli water experts, so Gamliel gave him a tour of the water desalination facility in Shurk.

As seen by their reactions to Pahlavi’s visit, for many Iranians, Israel has transformed from an enemy to an ally against the Islamic Republic. Masih Alinejad, another opposition leader, tweeted that “the nation of Iran has no enmity with Israel. It is the Islamic Republic that has conquered the borders of hostility against Jews, not just in Iran, but also in the region and the world.” Hichkas, the first professional Iranian rapper, humorously tweeted his wish that the trip would result in countless Qassem Soleimani-like assassinations. Former national soccer team captain Ali Karimi, the opposition leader most in tune with the Iranian street, posted a picture of the Pahlavis and Gamliel with Iranian-flag-colored hearts.
US determined to reach ‘small’ nuclear deal with Iran, Netanyahu says
Diplomatic sources posited that while the Biden administration realized it cannot keep the president’s campaign promise to return to the 2015 Iran Deal, it sought to put the Iran issue to rest at least until the 2024 presidential election.

The informality of the deal is likely an attempt by the Biden administration to avoid Congressional review in line with the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act (INARA). The law requires the president to notify Congress within five days of any agreement with Iran relating to its nuclear program and transmit any related materials for a 30-day review period. It also requires the president to “determine the agreement in no way compromises the commitment of the United States to Israel’s security, nor its support for Israel’s right to exist.”

Netanyahu told the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that “over 90% of [Israel’s] security problems come from Iran and its proxies.”

The Iranian threat is not just about its nuclear program; its development of ballistic missiles requires Israel’s attention, the prime minister added.

Sanctions on Iran’s missiles expire in October of this year. The Islamic Republic had openly violated the ban, exporting long-range drones to Russia for use against Ukraine.

As for the Abraham Accords, Netanyahu said: “We are acting to stop Iran with one hand and acting to expand the circle of peace with the other.”

The more Israel makes peace with the Arab world, the less hope its enemies will have that the Jewish state will disappear or can be defeated, he stated.

Netanyahu said that relations with the US are excellent and that he is in constant contact with the Biden administration.

However, Netanyahu has yet to receive an invitation to the White House, which Biden hinted earlier this year is due to the prime minister’s pursuit of judicial reforms.

Herzog has not yet been formally invited to meet with Biden, either, but he is scheduled to address Congress next month, and protocol dictates that he would meet with the president, as well.

US State Department: Reports of interim Iran deal 'competely false'
US State Department Spokesman Matthew Miller on Tuesday dismissed reports of an interim Iran deal, stating “that is completely false.”

"There are a number of reports we have seen by various outlets about different deals and purported deals, the vast majority of those reports have been wrong or completely misleading.”

Miller would not confirm the existence of talks between Washington and Tehran but said that the US “has always had the ability to deliver messages to Iran when it's in the interest of the US to do so.”
Defense tech firm Rafael creates first ever hypersonic interceptor
Israel’s Rafael defense contractor unveiled Wednesday that it has been developing a first-of-its-kind anti-hypersonic missile defense system.

According to the company, the Sky Sonic interceptor missile, which has been in development for around three years, will be shown for the first time at the upcoming Paris Air Show next week.

The announcement comes after Iran earlier this month claimed it had developed a new hypersonic missile. Rafael officials said the company had only recently been given approval by the Defense Ministry to reveal the system.

Rafael said the Sky Sonic missile “represents a major technological leap in hypersonic missile defense.”

“Designed with exceptional maneuverability and high-speed capabilities, it effectively neutralizes hypersonic missiles [which travel at speeds of over five times the speed of sound] with unmatched precision and stealth,” it said.

The company could not provide a timeline as to when the missile will be ready to use but said it would be conducting first test flights in the near future.

Speaking to reporters, former minister Yuval Steinitz, chairman of Rafael, said the company had identified the potential hypersonic missile threat a number of years ago and began a research and development venture.

“We are following the developments and emerging threats in the current security context and are developing the most advanced defense systems,” he said.
MEMRI: Iraqi Academic: Amount of Uranium Enriched by Iran Indicates it Intends to Produce Nuclear Weapons
Iraqi academic Dr. Hamid Alkifaey said in a June 12, 2023 show on Al-Hiwar TV (UK) that the amount of uranium enriched by Iran clearly indicates that Iran intends to produce nuclear weapons, and that that the Gulf states, Iraq, Azerbaijan, and Turkey are rightfully concerned about Iran’s armament. When asked about Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s recent statement claiming that Iran opposes the production and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, Alkifaey said that Iran does not abide by the laws of Islam, as shown by its meddling in the affairs of other countries and killing protesters, and therefore it should not be trusted to adhere to a fatwa prohibiting nuclear weapons.
