Israel shatters Hamas’s Doha sanctuary
In one dramatic strike, Israel has upended the rules of the game. Hours after Hamas proudly claimed responsibility for the bus bombing that killed six Israelis in Jerusalem on Sunday, Israeli Air Force F-15s and F-35s delivered justice not in Gaza, not in Lebanon, but in the capital of Qatar, Doha, the gilded refuge of Hamas’s leadership.A message to Western leaders: Palestinians don't want peace, they want dead Jews - comment
For years, Qatar has bankrolled Hamas, sending suitcases stuffed with cash to fund the terror tunnels of Gaza and offering sanctuary to its commanders. While Hamas paraded its hatred of Jews openly, Qatar perfected the art of taqiyya—the calculated deception of pretending to mediate peace while hosting, protecting, and enabling jihad.
Its state-funded propaganda arm, Al Jazeera, has done more than any Arab army to delegitimize Israel, promoting the libel of “genocide” and building an entire front of psychological warfare against the Jewish state.
That sanctuary is now rubble. Reports indicate that much of Hamas’s top brass—Khalil al-Hayya, Zaher Jabarin, Musa Abu Marzouk, Husam Badran, Muhammad Ismail Darwish and perhaps even Khaled Mashaal—were killed in the strike. These were not minor figures. They were Yahya Sinwar’s heirs, masterminds of Oct. 7, 2023, and the men who used the hostages as human bargaining chips.
The consequences are enormous. The hostage deal Hamas’s Doha-based leaders sought to manipulate may be dead, but so is their leverage. Israel has again demonstrated its doctrine: what happened once will not be allowed to happen again.
Just as it confronted Gaza’s warlords, Hezbollah’s Hassan Nasrallah and Iran’s nuclear adventurism, Jerusalem has shown it will strike wherever necessary, even at the heart of an oil-rich emirate that fancied itself untouchable.
The United States, which controls the skies over Qatar thanks to its massive airbase there, is reported to have coordinated closely with Israel.
If so, this marks a profound shift. Washington may finally be tiring of Qatar’s duplicity—its role as Hamas’s patron, its alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood and its obstruction of peace initiatives, including U.S. President Donald Trump’s efforts to conclude the war before the midterms. The Saudis, who loathe Qatar, will see this as an opening to push forward a regional realignment under the Abraham Accords.
Two weeks ago, official PA TV urged its citizens to "Kill Jews one by one." On Monday, two people did just that.Israel must be forceful in taking out Hamas, ex-soldier says
As The Jerusalem Post's editorial rightly stated last night, this is the same Palestinian Authority, which seeks international recognition as the legitimate government of a future Palestinian state but which has consistently failed to unequivocally condemn terror attacks. The same PA, which cannot even govern the West Bank effectively without Israeli security coordination, now demands control over Gaza as well.
Palestinian statehood
And yet the international community - Canada, France, the UK, to name a few - have all announced their plans to recognize a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly this month.
"As blood is spilled on Jerusalem’s streets, the international community rushes toward a predetermined outcome that ignores these harsh realities," the editorial added.
Anyone who thinks the Palestinians deserve a state, or that such a state would miraculously be 'peace-loving and neighborly,’ is either living in la la land, or is masking their desire for dead Jews behind an obsequious façade of diplomatic intent.
As Zionist Organization of America President Morton Klein said on Monday, “Not only has Abbas refused to specifically condemn these murderers, his intact Fatah charter still calls for the ‘armed struggle’ against Israeli Jews and the Jewish ‘demolition’ of the Jewish State.”
In Starmer's July 29 speech about his intent to recognize a Palestinian state, he said that such a state "is not in the gift of any neighbour and is also essential to the long-term security of Israel."
On what planet would such a state have any conceivable benefit to Israel's security?
Following their meeting on Monday, Starmer praised Abbas's "commitment to reform of the Palestinian Authority." Having served 20 years of his four-year term, Abbas has had ample opportunity to reform the Palestinian Authority. Has he? No.
And yet he successfully swanned into the UK - the once paragon of democracy - and convinced the country's feckless leader of his desire for peace, reform, and rainbows.
But over here in Israel, the irony is spectacularly unfunny; six Israelis were murdered in cold blood while commuting.
Yaakov Pinto, 25; Rabbi Levi Yitzhak Pash; Rabbi Israel Matzner, 28; Rabbi Yosef David, 43; Sarah Mendelson, 60; and Rabbi Mordechai Steintzag, 79.
Whole words. Whole lives. Loved ones, families, dreams, and hopes.
The gifting of a state to violent, jihadist people who glorify terror against Jews is the greatest form of gaslighting. It's saying, 'kill Jews and we will grant you legitimacy.' It is saying 'dead Jews don't matter.'
The world has sacrificed Jewish lives in the pursuit of the 'greater good.'
But it is clear to me at least that no 'good' will come from giving Palestinians a state while they still view martyrdom-through-murder as their greatest achievement.
Richard Kemp is a retired soldier, but he still talks like one in active service.
Speaking to a crowd of attentive listeners at the Toronto home of former Canadian Senator Linda Frum this week, Kemp foretold Israel’s precision strikes in Qatar, just hours before they happened.
“One pressure point is Qatar,” said Kemp, who knows a thing or two about war, having served in many for the United Kingdom. “Qatar hasn’t been exploited yet — to undermine Hamas.”
Qatar is the puny oil-rich Arab nation that, among other things, hosts and funds Hamas. Directly or indirectly, Qatar has funded al-Qaida, Syria’s al-Nusra Front, ISIS, and their philosophical nexus, the Muslim Brotherhood. It has supplied Hamas, in particular, with tens of millions to fund its terror war against Israel and the West.
(Oh, and Qatar is sponsoring and funding seven films at the Toronto International Film Festival, which recently attracted some negative headlines for its hastily recanted decision to cancel a documentary about an Israeli family on the Oct. 7, 2023 massacre. That was produced by, you know, a Jew. But we digress.)
While Kemp does not explicitly advocate for Israel to take out Hamas targets in Qatar — as they attempted to do on Monday night — he says that Israel must take forceful steps if it is to win its war against Hamas. “It’s all simply a question of destroying Hamas,” he says. Something that he says is inevitable, in the near or long term.
“And,” he adds,” please don’t think I don’t have sympathy for the Palestinian people. I don’t want to see the suffering of innocent children or women or the elderly. But I believe Israel must defeat Hamas.”
IDF targets Hamas terrorists in Doha, Qatar
The Israel Defense Forces and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) on Tuesday carried out a targeted strike against senior members of Hamas’s leadership in Doha, Qatar.
Those targeted had for years directed the Palestinian terror group’s operations, were directly responsible for the Oct. 7, 2023, massacre and have been managing the ongoing war against Israel, according to an IDF statement.
The military said measures were taken to minimize civilian casualties, including the use of precision munitions. It added that efforts would continue with determination to defeat Hamas.
“Today’s action against the top terrorist chieftains of Hamas was a wholly independent Israeli operation,” according to a statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office. “Israel initiated it, Israel conducted it, and Israel takes full responsibility.”
Netanyahu provided further details in a joint statement with Defense Minister Israel Katz, saying that he instructed on Monday all security agencies to prepare for potential assassination attempts on Hamas leaders abroad following two Palestinian terrorist attacks—a shooting in Jerusalem that killed six people and a tank bombing in northern Gaza that killed four IDF soldiers.
“Today at noon, in light of an operational opportunity, and after consultation with all the heads of the security establishment and with complete backing, the prime minister and the defense minister decided to implement the directive given last night to the IDF and the Shin Bet, who carried it out with precision and professionalism,” the statement continued.
“The prime minister and defense minister believe the operation was entirely justified given that this Hamas leadership initiated and organized the Oct. 7 massacre and has continued to launch murderous actions against the State of Israel and its citizens since then, including claiming responsibility for the killing of our citizens in yesterday’s attack in Jerusalem,” the statement concluded.
Netanyahu provided further details of the operation, which the IDF named “Summit of Fire,” during a speech on Tuesday evening at an American Independence Day celebration hosted by the U.S. Embassy in Israel, held in Jerusalem.
He authorized the “surgical precision strike on the terrorist chiefs of Hamas,” who, he said, “planned, launched, and celebrated the horrific massacres of Oct. 7—the savage murder of 1,200 people; the beheading of men; the rape and murder of women; the burning of babies; the taking of over 250 hostages, including innocent hostages—grandmothers, grandchildren, Holocaust survivors.”
Netanyahu stated that they “perpetrated the worst attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust,” speaking at the event, which took place at the Museum of Tolerance in the Israeli capital. (The event was originally scheduled for July 4 but was postponed due to the Israel-Iran war in June.)
“They were meeting in the same place—exactly the same place—where they celebrated this savagery almost two years ago,” Netanyahu continued. “At the beginning of the war, I promised that Israel would reach those who perpetrated this horror. Today, Israel and I have kept that promise.”
The prime minister said that “much of the world, including much of the democratic world—or governments at least—have shamefully forgotten Oct. 7. But I don’t forget, and Israel will never forget. Never. There was a time when Jews could be murdered with impunity, but since the founding of the State of Israel those days are over.”

Erin Molan: Jonathan Conricus: The TRUTH Behind Israel’s Qatar Strike on Hamas Leaders & Trump’s Role
What REALLY happened in the Israeli Qatar Strike on Hamas leadership? 🇶🇦💥 Erin Molan sits down with Jonathan Conricus (Former IDF International Spokesperson & Senior Fellow at FDD) to uncover the truth behind the headlines.
Conricus explains why there is zero chance the U.S. didn’t know about the operation in advance, whether the Qataris themselves gave the green light, and how President Trump may have sent a powerful message: “I’m the boss — if I want this war to end, it will end. Whoever stands in the way will be eliminated.”
This is the inside story of the strike shaking the Middle East — and the global power play behind it.

Israeli attack on Hamas ‘worthy goal’ but took place ‘very unfortunately’ in Doha, Trump says
U.S. President Donald Trump feels “very badly” about Israel’s strike on a Doha residence that housed a Hamas negotiating delegation earlier in the day.
“Unilaterally bombing inside Qatar, a sovereign nation and close ally of the United States, that is working very hard and bravely taking risks with us to broker peace, does not advance Israel or America’s goals,” the president stated. “However, eliminating Hamas, who have profited off the misery of those living in Gaza, is a worthy goal.”
Trump stated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to strike the Doha residence. “I immediately directed special envoy Steve Witkoff to inform the Qataris of the impending attack, which he did; however, unfortunately, too late to stop the attack,” Trump said.
“Shorter Trump: The location of the Hamas leadership was unfortunate,” stated David Hazony, director and Steinhardt senior fellow of the Z3 Institute for Jewish Priorities.
Some media reports were skeptical of Trump’s claim that Washington wasn’t forewarned.
Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, said during a media briefing that the U.S. military told Trump about a pending attack. She didn’t clarify how the U.S. military learned of the attack.
Washington shares parts of its largest military base in the Middle East–located just outside Doha at Al-Udeid—with the Qataris. (Iran attacked the base in June, seemingly in a symbolic strike, after the United States bombed the regime’s nuclear facilities.)
Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Qatari prime minister, said that the message from a U.S. official came about 10 minutes after the attack. The death toll remains unclear. Hamas says all members of its delegation survived, though some relatives, security and others were killed.
Trump stated that he spoke with Al Thani and the emir of Qatar and thanked them for their “support and friendship” and assured them “that such a thing will not happen again on their soil.”

Stephen Pollard: The BBC’s anti-Israel bias kicked in before the dust in Doha had settled
I know you’re not supposed to laugh when the BBC’s security correspondent, Frank Gardner, does his “Israel is a reckless threat to the world” shtick, but I have to confess that was my reaction this afternoon.
Commenting on the Israeli strike against Hamas leaders in Qatar, Gardner told us it was “exactly what many feared would eventually happen, given the determination by some in the Israeli government to continue a campaign of ‘score settling’ for the 7 October 2023 Hamas-led raid into Israel”.
There comes a point when the blinkers are screwed on so tightly that you can see only what you want to see. Gardner appears to have passed that point. Yes, “many” will indeed have feared Hamas terrorists getting what they had coming: oblivion. And they will doubtless indeed also dismiss it as “score settling” – as if it is so very petty of the Israelis to be interested in hunting down those responsible for the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. Why can’t they just turn the other cheek, like decent chaps?
So yes, I know I shouldn’t be laughing now; this is serious. But Gardner and his ilk are so predictable that when they trot out the lines so perfectly, you can guess every word of what they are about to say. It’s amusing.
I happened to be watching the BBC’s news channel when news of the strike broke, and carried on for an hour and a half. Not once in that time did they have anyone – not a single soul – who sought to explain why Israel might have been trying to take out the latest group of Hamas leaders.
Israel has repeatedly vowed that this is what it will do, and did it in July 2024 when it assassinated Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. On August 31, Eyal Zamir, the IDF chief of staff, said that “the bulk of Hamas’s ruling leadership that remains is abroad, and we will reach them too”. Could that be any clearer? Israel believes – and who can seriously suggest they are wrong? – that Hamas needs to know there is nowhere on earth it should feel safe. Israel will get them. Always and everywhere.
And if the IDF chief of staff isn’t good enough, how about Donald Trump, who put it like this at the weekend in a social media post: “Everyone wants the Hostages HOME. Everyone wants this War to end! The Israelis have accepted my Terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well. I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning, there will not be another one!”
BBC framing at its most grotesque.

Fourth soldier killed in Gaza attack named as Matan Abramovitz, 21
The IDF names the fourth soldier killed in yesterday’s Hamas attack on an army encampment on the outskirts of Gaza City as Lt. Matan Abramovitz, 21, from Ganei Tikva.
Abramovitz, who served in the 401st Armored Brigade’s 52nd Battalion, was killed alongside the three other members of his tank early Monday.
The three others were named yesterday evening as Staff Sgt. Uri Lamed, Sgt. Amit Arye Regev, and Sgt. Gadi Cotal.
According to an initial IDF probe, Hamas gunmen opened fire on the tank at the entrance to the encampment, before hurling an explosive device which exploded inside the armored vehicle, killing the four troops.
Lieutenant Matan Abramovitz fell in the same incident as Sergeant Gadi Cotal (20), Staff Sergeant Uri Lamed (20), and Sergeant Amit Arye Regev (19).

Qatar JUMPED Into Bed With Hamas, They Will Soon REGRET IT!
Journalist and human rights activist Emily Schrader is joined by former Arkansas Governor and U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee for a hard-hitting interview that unpacks the disinformation war targeting Israel, the manipulation of Gen Z minds and the global campaign to legitimize Hamas. Emily kicks off the episode by exposing Qatar’s state-funded influence machine: a multi-billion-dollar campaign involving fake social media bots, media networks like Al Jazeera, PR firms and massive donations to U.S. universities aimed at spreading anti-Israel propaganda and anti-Semitism across the West. The host highlights new data showing that 60% of Gen Z Americans now support Hamas over Israel, with evidence pointing to foreign digital warfare from China, Russia, Iran and Qatar shaping opinions through TikTok and other platforms. Emily and Ambassador Huckabee discuss the psychological operations (psyops) taking place online and in academia, and explain why the U.S. is losing the narrative war despite having the moral and strategic high ground. The conversation also tackles media disinformation about famine in Gaza, the demonization of Israel at the United Nations and the broader international failure to hold Hamas accountable for its war crimes. Huckabee sheds light on the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) and its success in delivering over 150 million meals while circumventing Hamas theft, and he slams the mainstream media for pushing propaganda disguised as journalism. The two also discuss Christian support for Israel, the U.S.-Israel alliance, Iranian regime change and how the truth must prevail over ideology, ignorance and foreign manipulation.

Another Piers Morgan Mash-Up and Jonathan Conricus on the IDF Gaza Operation
When I saw the viral clips from Piers Morgan’s show - featuring State of Tel Aviv and Beyond friend and regular guest, FDD Senior Fellow, Jonathan Conricus debating Mehdi Hasan - I could not resist. Jonathan and I spoke Sunday morning about what went down during that raucous exchange, which is more than television theatrics. Conricus has emerged as one of the most powerful and articulate spokespeople globally addressing issues arising regarding the Israel-Hamas war as well as regional issues. He has deep experience in the military and a gift for explaining complex issues in a way that makes them accessible. And, unlike Mehdi, he never loses his cool. We spend most of our time today speaking about the IDF operation in Gaza City and Conricus explains why he believes that it is the correct course of action for Israel at this time, in spite of the fact that the operation imperils the lives of the remaining hostages held by Hamas. It’s hard to keep up, I know. But it struck me that we are at a critical nodal point regarding Hamas, Gaza and the hostages and merited a quick rundown. Given what’s going on - this discussion is a quickie.
The issue of media handling of issues relating to Israel is a longstanding interest of mine, as you are likely aware. And the tenor of Piers Morgan’s show is also important, in my view. Like him or hate him he has millions of viewers globally and has maintained a strong focus on the Israel-Hamas war. Which means we have no choice but to pay attention to what goes down on his show. You can watch the full episode of the Conricus-Hasan debate at the link provided in the notes. The BBC can’t stop lying about Israel, using fake famine photos and hiding the truth about zero-casualty IDF strikes. Instead of exposing terrorists who brag about murdering Jews, they bury the story and put Israel in the headlines.

In a lively exchange with Matt Gaetz, I argue that Israel has 3 separate claims to the title deeds of the land. Jews have a stronger claim to Israel than the Pilgrims and other European settlers have to America! pic.twitter.com/k69GWPsAn7

Spain bars Smotrich, Ben-Gvir from entry amid escalating diplomatic row
Spain is banning Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir from entering its territory, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The decision was taken as part of Madrid’s “commitment to peace” and stance against “unacceptable violence,” Albares claimed at a press briefing following a Council of Ministers meeting on Israel.
Madrid’s move also came in the wake of Israeli sanctions targeting two Spanish Cabinet members due to their hostility toward the Jewish state.
Ben-Gvir responded on X, writing in a Spanish-language post: “Don’t let me in… but give the people from Gaza free entry into Spain.” Smotrich did not immediately respond to Madrid’s announcement on Tuesday.
On Monday, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar announced an entry ban for Deputy Prime Minister and Labor Minister Yolanda Díaz and Youth and Children Minister Sira Rego, accusing them of “pursuing a hostile, anti-Israel line, marked by wild, hate-filled rhetoric.”
Albares subsequently recalled Spain’s envoy to Israel for consultations.
Jerusalem’s action came on the same day that Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez presented nine measures against Israel to “prevent genocide in Gaza,” a charge that Israel and Washington deny.
Among other measures, the Spanish premier announced that Madrid would enshrine a royal decree in law to establish a comprehensive arms embargo, banning all military trade and technology exports to Israel.
One of the measures that could impact a wide swath of Israeli society states that “entry to Spain is prohibited for anyone directly involved in genocide, human rights violations, or war crimes in the Gaza Strip.”
According to Israel’s Channel 12, this could mean denying entry to IDF soldiers and officers as well as ministers and other government officials.

‘They’re targeting the wrong people’: Israeli filmmakers hit back at ‘profoundly misguided’ Hollywood boycott
The pledge – which the group said was inspired by the 1987 Filmmakers United Against Apartheid movement, founded by Jonathan Demme and Martin Scorsese at the height of apartheid in South Africa – reads: “As filmmakers, actors, film industry workers, and institutions, we recognise the power of cinema to shape perceptions.
"In this urgent moment of crisis, where many of our governments are enabling the carnage in Gaza, we must do everything we can to address complicity in that unrelenting horror.
"The world’s highest court, the International Court of Justice, has ruled that there is a plausible risk of genocide in Gaza, and that Israel’s occupation and apartheid against Palestinians are unlawful. Standing for equality, justice, and freedom for all people is a profound moral duty that none of us can ignore. So too, we must speak out now against the harm done to the Palestinian people.”
Examples of complicity include “whitewashing or justifying genocide and apartheid, and/or partnering with the government committing them,” the group added.
Hitting back against the boycott, the Israeli Film and TV Producers Association (IPA) said: “The signatories of this petition are targeting the wrong people.
“For decades, we Israeli artists, storytellers, and creators have been the primary voices allowing audiences to hear and witness the complexity of the conflict, including Palestinian narratives and criticism of Israeli state policies. We work with Palestinian creators, telling our shared stories and promoting peace and an end to violence through thousands of films, TV series, and documentaries.”
The group added: “This call for boycott is profoundly misguided. By targeting us – the creators who give voice to diverse narratives and foster dialogue – these signatories are undermining their own cause and attempting to silence us.
"This shortsighted act seeks to eliminate precisely the collaborative efforts working toward ending violence and achieving peace. We will not allow this and will push back in our efforts to end violence and bring just peace to our region for the benefit of all.”

How very not surprising.
You threaten to take something away but we never had it.
When did you ever treat us fairly?
