Trump Can Still Win the Iran War
The Revolutionary Guards, who now run Tehran very much as the SS did once Hitler died, have no plan other than to keep fighting, and a readiness to hang anyone who disagrees. This latest bout of warfare started with June's botched "Memorandum of Understanding," which was so loosely worded that it could be read as surrendering the Persian Gulf to Iran - as well as its direct opposite. It was also inevitable that the surviving Revolutionary Guard officers who now rule Iran would go for the maximum; all along they have boasted about their glorious victories, so they were hardly going to stand down and let America's Arab and Sunni friends ship out their oil, liquefied natural gas, and fertilizers undisturbed.

So they made an unprecedented and plainly illegal claim of sovereignty over the whole Gulf, together with a demand for transit fees. When Iran started attacking ships to assert its claim, the Trump administration imposed a total embargo on the Islamic Republic's oil exports.

Because Iran's usable foreign exchange reserves are very small, the oil export embargo had an immediate impact. It hampered Iran's ability to import rocket fuel, drone motors and other such urgent necessities from China. It also slowed its money transfers to Shi'a allies in Iraq, to Hizbullah in Lebanon, and to Yemen's Houthi militia. Meanwhile, in Iran the stop to oil exports has collapsed the rial. It now costs 1,900,000 rials to purchase one U.S. dollar in Tehran; a year ago it was 590,000 rials.

The regime's paid inspirational orators spell out their victory plan: If the war is pursued vigorously enough, the Twelfth Imam (the Mahdi), who has remained hidden since the year 874, will return as the redeemer, to install Shi'a Islam as the world's only religion. They insist that Iran is on a path to certain victory.

In the latest round of fighting, Iranian missiles and drones have targeted Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria and the UAE, but not Israel. The Revolutionary Guards could easily draw Israel in by launching missiles towards it, or ordering its Houthi auxiliaries to do so. They have chosen not to.

The reason is no mystery. The bombing capacity of the U.S. is far greater, but only the Israelis have demonstrated a consistent ability to find and kill Iran's top leaders - and a willingness to do so. In Washington's foreign affairs and intelligence bureaucracies, by contrast, there is a dogmatic opposition to attacks against political leaders. But when a leadership is willing to impose unlimited sacrifices on its own population, it is no use inflicting more hardship on that same population - and the leaders are the only valid targets.

American strategy continues to target the country's economy and infrastructure rather than the regime itself. But destroying bridges would only raise the cost of war; removing the Revolutionary Guard leadership could end it. It would immediately comfort the desperate, oppressed population, and might sooner or later bring to power new leaders less eager to enjoy the luxuries of Islamic martyrdom.
Trump's Iran Strategy
Wednesday's U.S. airstrikes on Iran following its missile attack on Jordan were confined to the Persian Gulf region, as Trump appears intent on avoiding a major escalation.

According to assessments by officials in Israel and other Middle Eastern countries, Trump does not want a broad confrontation before the U.S. midterm elections in early November.

The three months remaining would allow the U.S. to accelerate production of munitions, particularly interceptors, and make other preparations for a wider confrontation that is expected to resume later.

Washington has concluded that diplomatic efforts with Iran's new regime will not succeed or produce results, either with regard to reopening the Strait of Hormuz or preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

The conclusion is that another significant military confrontation will be required, with Israel participating.

While the Pentagon and U.S. Central Command assess that airstrikes in their present form have exhausted their ability to pressure the Iranian regime and produce results, the maritime and economic blockade is viewed as effective and as a threat to the regime's ability to govern.

According to U.S. intelligence officials, Iran's military and Revolutionary Guards have been unable to pay salaries for several months because of the loss of oil revenue.

U.S. officials have concluded that intense military action would only allow the Iranian regime to divert public attention from domestic hardship. Their preferred course is to maintain and possibly expand the economic blockade.

President Trump has stated repeatedly that Iran's rulers must never be permitted to obtain nuclear weapons. But he hasn't clearly explained why, so let me put it bluntly: They would use them. Iran's rulers are self-proclaimed Islamic revolutionaries and the world's leading sponsors of terrorism. For 47 years, they've vowed "Death to America!" If they were to obtain nuclear warheads and missiles that could deliver them to American cities, why would they refrain?

These are jihadis who, for decades, have been murdering their own people. Under a nuclear umbrella, Iran's rulers could subjugate their neighbors, attack American assets, and insist that all Americans retreat from the Middle East. Maybe they'd champion the "right" of American Muslims to live according to Sharia - Islamic law.

Before last year's Twelve-Day War and this year's Operation Epic Fury, Iran's rulers were making steady progress toward the development of nuclear weapons in subterranean fortresses while simultaneously amassing an enormous arsenal of missiles and drones. The regime's nuclear weapons program has been set back from just a few weeks to as much as three years. That's progress. But it's not mission accomplished.

Military experts I've consulted suggest this strategy: Maintain the blockade which denies the regime revenue, dries up supply lines and will soon force the regime's troops to battle pro bono. Continue airstrikes against military targets, especially weapons depots and factories.

Airports, government buildings, banks, and communications facilities used by Iran's military should be added to the target list, as should the military commanders and government officials responsible for the mass murders of innocent Iranians. None of the above requires "boots on the ground."


UN Rapporteur's report accuses Israel of 'femicide,' omits Jewish victims
A new report by UN Special Rapporteur on violence against women and girls Reem Alsalem accuses Israel of “femicide,” “reproductive violence,” and using attacks on mothers as a tool of genocide, but presents contested allegations as established facts while entirely omitting the experiences of Israeli women and mothers during and after the October 7 Hamas attacks.

The 22-page report “Violence Against Mothers” was issued this week in all official UN languages. Its stated intention is to examine the main forms and manifestations of violence experienced by women and girls because of their status as mothers. For the purpose of the report, women and girls are considered mothers if they have given birth, are pregnant, or if they adopt children.

In the section “Conflicts and Crises,” Alsalem writes that “mothers are attacked and killed with the intent of destroying a group in whole or in part, including through femicide in contexts such as the Gaza Strip or Afghanistan.”

Alsalem, alongside other UN independent experts, has accused Israel of ‘femicide’ before.

‘Femicide’ – the intentional killing of women or girls because of their gender – is not a standalone international crime under the Rome Statute of the ICC in the way that genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes are.

Additionally to that, no single international court, including the International Court of Justice or the International Criminal Court, has issued a judgment finding Israel guilty of the crime of femicide.

Nevertheless, this is presented as a fact by Alsalem.

Report presents genocide allegation despite no international court ruling
In the same section, she writes that “reproductive violence is also increasingly reported in conflict, disproportionately affecting mothers, including as a tool of genocide in Myanmar and the Sudan, as well as the state of Palestine.” While the accusation of genocide has been increasingly leveled against Israel, Israel has not been found guilty of genocide by any international court.

Alsalem then says that “in the first 100 days of the Israeli invasion of Gaza after October 7, 2023, on average, two mothers were killed every hour” and “Palestinian mothers and their children were specifically targeted by Israel with genocidal language.”

The statistic of two mothers an hour circulated in January 2024, and is based on casualty data reported by the Hamas-run Gaza Ministry of Health.


Exclusive: UN Is Actively Obstructing US Probe Into Links Between Its Gaza Relief Groups and Hamas, as Americans Warn UN To Divorce 'Cancerous UNRWA'
Multiple U.N. relief agencies continue to stonewall a U.S. probe into their ties to Hamas, withholding key documents and other information that could reveal their employees as affiliates of the terror group, according to U.S. officials and diplomats briefed on the matter.

The ongoing standoff between federal investigators and the United Nations is causing tensions at a time when the international organization is facing intense U.S. pressure to shutter the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), the largest relief organization in Gaza, which critics say is fully infiltrated and controlled by Hamas.

A senior American diplomat tells the Washington Free Beacon that the United Nations must cut the cord "once and for all" from "the cancerous UNRWA" for the work that will be continued in Gaza.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) inspector general's office, a statutorily independent law enforcement entity separate from the largely defunct USAID, in December 2025 sent letters to six separate U.N. agencies that purport to do humanitarian work in Gaza. The letters asked these groups to name all their employees "who worked on U.S.-government funded awards" and provide their contact information and "date and place of birth." The office also asked the agencies to detail their "interactions with Hamas," among other requests that went largely unanswered, the Free Beacon first reported in April.

More than three months later, none of the six organizations have furnished the full list of documents requested by the USAID inspector general, a source briefed on the USAID inspector general's investigation confirmed to the Free Beacon.

"This administration will not allow the U.N. to evade accountability in its handling of U.S. taxpayer dollars," a senior State Department official told the Free Beacon. "The UN's failure to cooperate with the USAID IG investigation into Hamas diversion and interference of aid to Gaza is totally unacceptable."

Iran War Is Not Breaking America, It Is Breaking Tehran
The commentary accompanying each round of fighting between the U.S. and Iran has produced a familiar narrative: Iran has far greater economic and social staying power than the U.S., while the American public is supposedly united against the war.

How much of this is supported by the facts?

The war has so far cost between 0.2% and 0.3% of the United States' $32 trillion annual GDP, a negligible burden on the U.S. economy.

The price of a barrel of oil is also nowhere close to creating global economic chaos. The U.S. is now a major energy exporter, and its oil and gas sector is earning enormous profits from higher prices.

Iran cannot survive more than several additional weeks of fighting. Outside the wealthy neighborhoods on Tehran's outskirts, the Islamic Republic is rapidly collapsing. Even subsidized basic goods are rising in price at an annual rate of 180%.

In closed briefings, Trump and his closest advisers argue that Iran's leaders are the ones trapped in illusion.

Their military has been defeated and largely dismantled, their economy is on its knees, and their society is beginning to fracture, yet they continue to portray themselves as the victors. Those illusions will eventually collapse. For America, the most effective strategy is a controlled war of attrition combined with diplomatic patience.
An Economic Drama Is Unfolding in Iran
Beneath the regime's shell of regional threats, the Iranian economy continues to bleed.

The damages of war and the naval blockade, the sanctions, alongside structural corruption and the massive investment of state resources into funding regional terrorism, are pushing the regime against the wall.

These consequences trickle directly into the pocket of the average Iranian citizen, who is daily losing purchasing power and trust in the system.

The regime is planning a sharp hike in fuel prices, a move it tried to avoid for years due to its immense public sensitivity. Raising fuel prices will also translate into price increases for transportation, basic commodities, and services.

In November 2019, a sudden and drastic fuel price hike led to a nationwide wave of protests that was brutally suppressed through the killing of hundreds of citizens.

Applying heightened economic pressure and tightening sanctions are not merely punitive measures, but a primary strategic lever.

The deeper the economic distress grows, the greater the internal pressure will be that forces regime leaders to turn their attention inward instead of exporting terror and regional subversion.
US denies that IRGC destroyed three F-35s, after Iran claims it killed US soldiers in Jordan
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed that it killed several US soldiers and destroyed three F-35 aircraft in an attack on Jordan's Al-Azraq Air Base in a Thursday message on Telegram.

In the same message, the statement claimed that three other aircraft were damaged.

The US military denied Iranian claims that any aircraft were damaged in Thursday's attacks.

"No US aircraft were destroyed or damaged in recent attempted Iranian attacks. All missiles and drones were intercepted or failed to reach targeted areas," a US CENTCOM statement read.

The US military did not confirm if any US service members were slain.

The IRGC said that the attack was in retaliation for strikes on Iran's Qeshm Island on Wednesday evening.

Earlier, Iranian state news agency Tasnim reported that three IRGC soldiers were killed in a US missile attack in the Zanjan province branch.

The IRGC soldiers were identified as Mahmoud Mollajabari, Mohammadreza Cheraghi and Jamal Amiri.

The US and Iran have been trading strikes within the past week after days of relative calm in the Middle East.

US President Donald Trump warned that the US will strike Iran “very hard” in retaliation for Iranian strikes on US military assets in the region during a White House press conference on Wednesday.

"We're going to hit them very hard, because now it's our turn to hit them. They know it's coming,” he asserted. “They're asking us not to do it, but you know - they tried to fire last night.”

Earlier, he said that the US will “beat the f***ing s***” out of Iran in retaliation for Tehran’s overnight launch of ballistic missiles towards US military bases in the region.
IRGC warns ‘aggressor’ will be ‘punished’ as Iran hits Jordan, Kuwait
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps threatened on Thursday morning that “the aggressor will be punished today,” according to Tehran’s state-run IRNA outlet.

Any country assisting the United States militarily will face a “harsh response,” the IRGC warned in the statement.

Earlier on Thursday, the Islamic Republic launched missile and attack drone at Jordan and Kuwait, the two countries said.

The assault hit a building belonging to a Chinese company in northern Kuwait, the country’s defense ministry said in a post on X. The attack killed a worker at the facility and inflicted “significant” damage, the post added.

In Jordan, air defenses intercepted five Iranian ballistic missiles on Thursday, a military source told the Hashemite Kingdom’s official Petra News Agency. The missiles were shot down “efficiently and professionally, resulting in the thwarting of the attempted targeting of the kingdom’s territory, without any human casualties being recorded,” the source said.


Israeli who served in secret IDF unit charged with espionage for Iran
Israeli authorities revealed on Wednesday that an Israeli citizen who served in a classified military unit had been charged with maintaining contact with an Iranian intelligence operative and attempting to pass information to benefit the enemy.

The indictment was filed on July 16 by the State Attorney’s Office Cyber Department in the Tel Aviv District Court, according to a joint statement from the Israel Police, the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) and the Ministry of Defense.

The suspect served in both mandatory and reserve duty in a classified Israel Defense Forces unit, the statement said.

The investigation, conducted by the Israel Police’s Arazim Major Crimes Unit, the Defense Ministry’s Security Department and the Shin Bet, found that the suspect had been in contact with a person who identified himself as an Iranian intelligence operative.

Authorities said the suspect was also asked at one stage to help recruit another IDF soldier to establish contact with the same hostile elements.

The agencies warned Israelis against maintaining contact with individuals from enemy states or “unidentified individuals.”

“The public is urged to report any suspicious or unusual contact to the relevant law enforcement authorities,” the statement said. “It is important to emphasize that such contact may constitute a criminal offense from its very inception.”

A senior official involved in the investigation cited by the Kan News public broadcaster described the charges as “one of the most shocking cases” of espionage on Tehran’s behalf.

The suspect’s attorney, Nati Rom from the Honenu legal-aid organization, denounced the charges, saying they pertained to an “isolated incident that, at most, reflects a lack of caution.”
Israeli ambulance driver indicted for spying on hospitals, sites for Iran
An Israeli Arab man from the Western Galilee village of Bi’ina was indicted on Thursday for allegedly carrying out intelligence missions for Iran, the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) and Israel Police said in a joint statement.

Amir Hisham Mohammed Titi, 34, was arrested on June 29 by undercover officers from the Border Police’s Tactical Brigade, following a joint investigation by the Shin Bet and the Central Unit of the police’s Northern District.

According to the statement, Titi worked as an ambulance driver and used his unrestricted access to hospitals across the country to pass his Iranian handler information and photographs of hospital deployments during both routine periods and emergencies. During one visit to a hospital in northern Israel, he allegedly photographed a senior official.

Beyond tasks tied to his job, Titi was reportedly directed to document several other locations, including “Hostages Square” in Tel Aviv, where he was photographed holding a sign bearing images of hostages held in the Gaza Strip; a protest at the Merkaz Horev complex in Haifa; and a moshav in the Sharon region where a senior security official lives.
Erdogan says Turkey seeks to join a post-UNIFIL security force in Lebanon
Turkey is interested in participating in a new security initiative for Lebanon when the 7,500-member UN peacekeeping mission in southern Lebanon expires at the end of the year, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a press statement with his Lebanese counterpart on Thursday.

The United Nations Security Council voted unanimously last year to terminate the peacekeeping mission known as UNIFIL, bowing to demands from Israel and the US. Israel says the 48-year-old mission did not fulfill its mandate and failed to prevent the military buildup of Iran-backed terror group Hezbollah.

Speaking alongside Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in Ankara, Erdogan said that “after the withdrawal of the current international force, Turkey wants to take part in all initiatives that will be launched to support security in the region and ensure Lebanon’s sovereignty.”

“The end of the mandate of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, UNIFIL, deployed in southern Lebanon, will constitute an important development,” Erdogan said.

Other countries have also voiced an interest in contributing to a UNIFIL successor force, including France and Italy, but it remains unclear what form that force might take and whether it would be under a UN mandate or some other arrangement.

Turkey’s inclusion in such a force would almost certainly be opposed by Israel, given Ankara’s bitter criticism of the Jewish state in recent years. Israel managed to block Turkey’s participation in the Board of Peace’s International Stabilization Force for Gaza, but that may be a more difficult task in Lebanon, where it doesn’t control the entirety of the territory.
Israel destroys terror tunnels in southern Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces destroyed terror tunnels in the Beaufort area of southern Lebanon, which Hezbollah planned to use to invade communities in the Galilee, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday.

“The tunnels were blown up using approximately 700 tons of explosives, as part of the IDF’s systematic operation to destroy all of Hezbollah’s terror infrastructure in southern Lebanon,” Netanyahu stated.

He added that the operation follows Hezbollah’s “blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement” on Wednesday.

“The State of Israel will not accept any violation of the ceasefire agreement,” Netanyahu said. “Any attempt by Hezbollah to harm IDF forces or Israeli citizens will be met with a harsh and powerful response that will exact a heavy price from the terror organization.”

Netanyahu added that the IDF will remain in the southern Lebanon security zone and continue to destroy terror infrastructure.


IDF troops seize Hezbollah arms cache in Southern Lebanon
Israel Defense Forces reservists operating in southwestern Lebanon discovered dozens of weapons hidden inside civilian infrastructure, the military said on Thursday.

The weapons cache was found in the village of Majdal Zoun, about four miles north of the border, during operations to eliminate Hezbollah threats in the Israeli-controlled security zone, according to the IDF.

The storage facility held items including Kalashnikov rifles, magazines, ammunition, grenades, explosives, anti-tank missiles and mortar shells.

Soldiers also demolished structures in the area that had been used by Hezbollah terrorists, the military stated.

“The IDF will continue to operate to remove any threat to its troops and will not allow the Hezbollah terrorist organization to harm Israeli civilians,” the statement concluded.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir told soldiers during a visit to Lebanon on Wednesday that the military would maintain its security zone in the country’s south until “long-term security is ensured.”

“We have established a security zone and are clearing it of terrorist infrastructure—these are areas from which the Hezbollah terrorist organization prepared, threatened and operated against the communities in northern Israel,” Zamir told ground troops. “If required, we will deepen our operations and reach additional areas,” he added.


Hamas has agreed to disarm, Trump says
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the Board of Peace, which he chairs, reached an agreement with Hamas for the complete disarmament ‌of the terror groups that rule and control the Gaza Strip.

Trump stated that it was a “major milestone in the implementation” of his 20-point plan to bring an end to the Israel-Hamas war and begin the recovery process in the enclave.

The pact will be implemented in phases, as the Israel Defense Forces withdraw as disarmament progresses, according to Trump.

An international stabilization force under the auspices of the Board of Peace is to work in tandem with a newly-built Palestinian police force to provide security.

Trump praised Egypt, Qatar and Turkey, which helped mediate with Hamas, he said.

“This agreement is a critical step towards Gaza finally being governed by a new Palestinian ‌government ⁠that will work closely with the Board of Peace to help the Palestinian people,” Trump wrote. “At the same time, Israel will have the security it deserves.”

Israel has not commented on the development, although officials have said that they are skeptical that Hamas will follow through.

Hamas has not commented officially, though two senior officials confirmed the deal anonymously to AFP.

A U.S. official said that Iran tried unsuccessfully to persuade Hamas not to agree to the deal.

Officials on a call with reporters following Trump’s post acknowledged that there is no trust between Israel and Hamas. The proposal is based on “zero trust” but “with every step verified,” they said.

An official involved in negotiations said that the disarmament process would take place over a matter of weeks, but urged reporters not to get hung up on timelines.


US takes control of Gaza tunnel operations
The United States and Israel are moving forward with plans to establish four additional concrete plants in the Gaza border area to meet growing demand for sealing Hamas tunnels in the Strip and constructing a massive military base intended to serve the International Stabilization Force (ISF). The enormous quantities of concrete required for both projects have created the need for the additional plants.

The current system is operating amid cash-flow difficulties. The concrete plants shut down every week because of budget problems, dramatically affecting the continuous effort to seal the tunnel routes. In fact, it has emerged that the Israel Defense Forces has no comprehensive, structured work plan for sealing all the tunnels discovered in the Gaza Strip, and operations are being conducted according to ad hoc budget allocations.

As part of the preparations to transfer responsibility for operating and financing the plants to the United States, workers at the existing concrete facilities have already been informed that, for payroll and management purposes, they will become employees of the US administration overseeing the project.

Thousands of kilometers of tunnels built and used by Hamas remain in the Gaza Strip. Some are still used by the terrorist organization's military wing, and hostages were held in several of them.

It should be noted that the Americans are not making the operation conditional on a transition to Phase 2 of the 20-point plan, since it is not considered reconstruction but rather the filling of tunnels located in territory under IDF control.
IDF strikes eliminate two Hamas terrorists, including Oct. 7 infiltrator
The Israel Defense Forces said on Thursday that it had eliminated two Hamas terrorists in separate airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, including a platoon commander who infiltrated the Jewish state during the terror group’s Oct. 7, 2023, attack.

Ahmad Hisham Mahmoud Louh, identified as the last remaining sniper cell commander in Hamas’s Nuseirat Battalion, was killed in a strike in southern Gaza on Monday, according to the military.

In a separate strike in the northern Strip on Monday, the IDF eliminated Mahmoud Ali Mahmoud Taroush, a Hamas platoon commander, it said.

The statement noted that Taroush took part in the Oct. 7 cross-border massacre in southern Israel.

“Throughout the war and recently, the terrorists attempted to advance terror attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians,” the IDF said. “The terrorists posed a threat to the troops and were eliminated in precise aerial strikes.”

UK court convicts Norwegian over role in murder-for-hire ordered by Iran-linked gang
A Norwegian teenager was convicted in a London court on Wednesday of traveling to Britain to carry out a contract killing on behalf of an international crime gang linked to Iran.

Prosecutors said Johannes Kongsnes Natland, 19, agreed to shoot an unknown person for 25,000 euros ($28,000) in March last year. But two days after arriving in the UK, he was arrested at a hotel in Huddersfield in northern England with two guns and ammunition.

A jury at Central London Criminal Court found Natland guilty of conspiracy to murder after deliberating for more than 17 hours.

Natland, who was working part-time at a pizza restaurant at the time of his arrest, was recruited by a Swedish organized crime group known as the Foxtrot Network, which has links to the Iranian government, counterterrorism officers from London’s Metropolitan Police Service said in a statement.

“Although the target of the murder plot has never been identified, (counterterror) London officers uncovered a significant amount of evidence demonstrating that Natland was fully aware he was being asked to kill someone in the UK,” the statement said.

Natland was hired by a 17-year-old known as “Generalen.” A court in Norway last year convicted the teenager of attempting to “contribute to murder” and sentenced him to 14 years in custody. A 16-year-old is awaiting trial in Norway for his role in the conspiracy.
