So I looked to see what else the Al Azhar website says about the Jews.
In 2016 they published an article about the bad characteristics of Jews mentioned in the Holy Quran. The first paragraph gives a preview: Jews are have "many bad morals, ugly character, and malicious behavior." They are described as " disbelief, ingratitude, selfishness, arrogance, cowardice, lying, deceit, disobedience, transgression, hardness of heart, perverted character, and haste in sin and aggression. And consuming people’s money unjustly.
The article than goes into detail on some of these vices, including:
Their violation of covenants and covenants.Their bad manners with God Almighty, their hostility to His angels, and their killing of His prophets.Their ungratefulness towards the truth, and their hatred of the good of others out of selfishness and envy.Their rejection of the Book of God, and their following of magic and satanic delusions.Their eagerness to live, and their cowardice in refraining from jihad for the sake of God.
Because of these awful attributes, Jews "deserve to be expelled from God’s mercy, and to be subjected to humiliation and poverty."
Not exactly philosemitic.
Another document on the site from only last month starts off by saying, "The Jews are the people who steal the civilization, thought, and culture of others." It ends by saying, "Living in peace among people is something the Jews do not know. "
If this is respecting Jews, I'd hate to know what disrespect looks like.
