Palestinian leaders still have Jordanian citizenship

A Fatah leader, Azzam al-Ahmad, was reported to have accused Jordan of revoking the permanent passports of Palestinian leaders who plan to attend the Fatah conference later this month,  replacing them with temporary passports.

Jordanian officials responded with a heated denial, and al-Ahmad himself says that he never made such an accusation and it was an unfounded rumor meant to make him look bad.

So, while Jordan took away citizenship from millions of Palestinians - most in 1988, but many afterwards  - Fatah leaders in the West Bank still enjoy being full citizens of Jordan.
