10/27 Links Pt1: 1,703 terror attacks in 2015; 20,000 Israelis sue Facebook for ignoring Palestinian incitement

From Ian:

By the numbers: 1,703 terror attacks since the start of 2015
Since the beginning of 2013, it said, there is a continuing trend of worsening security situation and the steady increase in terrorist activity.
This is reflected in an increase in the number of terrorist attacks and the number of Israeli casualties as a result of terrorism, with a steady rise in terror activity since March 2014.
In 2013 there were approximately 1,414 attacks; in 2014 there were about 1,650 terrorist attacks; in 2015 this trend continued, with 1,703 attacks from January until October 18. Of the victims, 35 have been killed - up from zero in 2012.
Of the 1,703 attacks in 2015, a staggering 778 attacks have been launched against Israelis since Rosh Hashana (the Jewish New Year) last month - which killed 11 civilians and injured about a hundred civilians and soldiers.
"The above data indicates a significant change in circumstances and the escalating scope, intensity and level of murderous terrorism, that require knowing that political and security officials are taking measures to deter potential terrorists from carrying out attacks in general, and such as those that recently circulated, in particular," the report said.
The professional assessment of security officials - also shared by the Prime Minister, Defense Minister, and IDF Chief of Staff - is essential now that the maximum deterrence from committing further attacks, it added - including the High Court issuing a ruling on the demolitions as soon as possible.
20,000 Israelis sue Facebook for ignoring Palestinian incitement
A class-action lawsuit against Facebook is accusing the social media platform of ignoring widespread Palestinian posts calling for violence against Jews.
In the suit filed Monday in New York State Supreme Court in Brooklyn, the 20,000 Israeli plaintiffs claim the Facebook posts have inspired many recent terror attacks and that “Facebook’s algorithms and platform connects inciters to terrorists who are further encouraged to perpetrate stabbings and other violence attacks against Israelis.”
According to a news release issued by the plaintiffs, many recent assailants “were motivated to commit their heinous crimes by incitement to murder they read on Facebook — demagogues and leaders exhorting their followers to “slaughter the Jews,” and offering instruction as to the best manner to do so, including even anatomical charts showing the best places to stab a human being.”
The suit alleges that Facebook has a “legal and moral obligation” to block much of this content but that it chooses not to.
WATCH the videos that made 20,000 Israelis SUE Facebook over Palestinian incitement
While mainstream North American television recycles the same footage, we decided to go deeper.
This report includes selected videos that were posted this week on social media and Palestinian TV.
Nearly 5000 Israelis marched in Tel Aviv last night, calling on Israeli leaders to sit down with Palestinian leaders and work for long lasting solution to the Middle East conflict.
In contrast, Palestinian youth are being bombarded by visuals of incitement by the PLO, Hamas and various Arab nations.
They call on the youth to sacrifice their lives and be martyrs.
While Israelis are protesting for peace -- and suing Facebook for its role in spreading anti-Semitic hatred -- the ongoing incitement by Palestinian on social media and Palestinian television creates a culture and society of martyrdom that seemingly worships death over life.

Update: One Algemeiner Article Restored on Facebook
Snapshots has been monitoring an Algemeiner article that had been deleted from Facebook.
The Bernard-Henri Levi article that was previously blocked from being posted by Facebook (and deleted from users' personal pages) has been restored to The Algemeiner's Facebook page and can now be posted. The previously mentioned article about the stabbing at Kiryat Arba is still not shareable on Facebook however.
Update Oct. 26, 2015: The Algemeiner reports: "UPDATE 10/26 2:00 pm: After Jewish human-rights group the Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC) — which communicates regularly with Facebook about online hate issues — contacted the company on The Algemeiner’s behalf, the post was returned to Facebook. A representative told SWC that the post had not been banned because of its content and that further inquiries would be made to determine why it had been removed."
Obama Willfully Lies on Israel, Then Retracts, But the Damage Is Done
Obama officials have been doing this in five ways:
1. Condemning violence and incitement on both sides: Specifically condemning attacks on innocent Israelis, Secretary of State John Kerry nonetheless also called upon “all sides to take affirmative steps to restore calm” and called for “leadership that condemns the tit-for-tat.” And State Department spokesman John Kirby explicitly stated, “We recognize that incitement can go both ways here.”
2. Refusing to identify or condemn PA incitement to violence: Despite disseminating falsehoods about Palestinian terrorists being innocents murdered in cold blood by Israel and Muslim supremacist calls by Abbas for Muslims to block imaginary Israeli take-over and “desecration” of Muslim shrines with “their filthy feet,” administration officials don’t allude to this, much less condemn it. Quite the contrary: State Department spokesman Mark Toner implied Israel isn’t upholding the status quo on Temple Mount, while Mr. Kirby explicitly endorsed this false Palestinian claim, saying , “Certainly, the status quo has not been observed, which has led to a lot of the violence.”
3. Refusing to identify which side is using terrorism: Secretary Kerry has spoken of “a revolving cycle,” while Mr. Toner has referred to the “recent wave of violence,” not Palestinian terrorism, and refused to “assign blame” for the attacks. So did Mr. Kirby (“This isn’t about affixing … blame on either side.”)
4. Accusing Israel of using excessive force in dealing with the knife-wielding terrorists: Mr. Kirby baldy stated, “We’ve certainly seen some reports of what many would consider excessive use of force.”
5. Rationalizing the Arab violence as partly the product of Jews moving into or living in the West Bank: Secretary Kerry spoke of a “massive increase in [Jewish] settlements over the course of the last years,” which is neither a warrant for murder nor even true. Construction within Jewish communities in the West Bank has dropped during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s six-year tenure to its lowest point since the Rabin government.
State Department Cracks Down on Israel Travel Amid Violence
The Department of State’s diplomatic security section is tightening restrictions on travel for its employees throughout Israel amid a spike in Palestinian violence that has killed at least eight Israelis, according to a recent internal report distributed to U.S. employees residing in the Jewish state.
The State Department’s Overseas Security Advisory Council is prohibiting Americans from traveling to the West Bank and Jerusalem’s Old City, as well as other areas, after dark due to the ongoing violence, according to the report.
The report also cites “analysts” claiming that so-called Israeli settlements are to blame for the spike in violence, an assertion made by the State Department multiple times but called inaccurate by experts in the region.
The council’s warning highlights the instability of the current situation and threat to Americans living in the region, who could become caught up in the violence.
“Such violence erupts periodically, with some analysts citing a correlation with conflict over Israeli settlements in Palestinian neighborhoods, Israeli visits to the Haram al-Sharif/Temple Mount (HAS/TM) compound, restrictions on HAS/TM for Palestinians, reports of Palestinians killed as a result of Israeli security force action, settler violence against Palestinians, and other issues,” the report states.
US warns against PM’s idea of revoking residency for some Jerusalem Arabs
The Obama administration on Monday hurried to express its opposition to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s tentative talk of revoking the permanent residency status of tens of thousands of Arabs living in East Jerusalem.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest said that, as far as the US government knows, Israel is not actively considering such a move. But if it were, he said, “it would obviously be of some concern to us.” The US, Earnest went on, reiterates the “importance of all sides avoiding provocative actions and rhetoric.”
Netanyahu discussed the idea in vague terms at a Knesset committee meeting earlier Monday, as part of possible measures aimed at halting an ongoing spate of terror attacks.
Hospitals and Universities Try To Stay Above the Fray
Coexistence quietly continues in Jerusalem
Ahmed Eid, an Arab, and Elchanan Fried, a Jew, admit that there are sometimes tensions between them. Fried is the Director of the Surgical ICU unit at Hadassah hospital on Mount Scopus, and Eid is the director of surgery. But the tensions have nothing to do with politics.
“We both have big egos,” Fried told The Media Line. “We often work on the same patients and we have to figure out how to do that.”
That is what happened recently when a 13-year-old Israeli arrived at Hadassah hospital on Mount Scopus, after he was stabbed by a 13-year-old Palestinian. The young Israeli was clinically dead and had no pulse. Both Fried and Eid saw the young patient.
“He had a small stab wound near his shoulder but that didn’t explain why he was in such bad condition,” Dr. Ahmed Eid, the head of the Department of Surgery told The Media Line. “I asked to turn him over to see if there was a wound there. Then blood started coming from this wound, and I understood that a major blood vessel was cut or injured.”
It was touch and go for a few days, but now the patient is out of danger and “spinning us around on his little finger,” as Fried said.
Another Forgotten Victim of Palestinian Terror
After every Palestinian terrorist attack, the news media report the names of those killed and the number of those wounded. The names of the injured are almost never mentioned. In many cases, they are maimed for life, but nobody outside their immediate families will ever know their names or remember what happened to them.
The one tragic exception to this Rule of the Forgotten Victims is if someone who is injured in an attack later dies from his wounds. And so the name of Rabbi Haim (Howie) Rothman briefly entered the consciousness of world Jewry this week, when he passed away from the devastating injuries he suffered in the November 2014 Har Nof synagogue massacre.
Rabbi Rothman left the comforts of Toronto in 1985, to make his home in Jerusalem, where he and his wife raised 10 children and became beloved members of the Har Nof community. On Nov. 18, 2014, the Palestinian terrorists Uday Abu Jamal and Ghassan Muhammad Abu Jamal burst into a Har Nof synagogue, swinging axes and firing automatic weapons.
Some of the worshippers may have known the Jamals. The two cousins worked in one of the neighborhood’s grocery stores. Some people probably see the fact that Palestinian Arabs take jobs in Jewish businesses as a sign of peaceful coexistence. Not in this case.
Police: Jerusalem terrorism wave largely curbed
Following three weeks of heightened security – including numerous roadblocks placed at violent Arab neighborhoods, an extra 1,200 Border Police officers, and coordination with the IDF and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) – police on Monday said Jerusalem’s terrorism wave has largely been contained.
While emphasizing that the city remains at its highest state of alert, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the capital’s far-reaching emergency security plan has prevented another terrorist attack from taking place for roughly one week.
“With police across the country drafted to Jerusalem, as well as 16 extra Border Police units, and rotating roadblocks and checkpoints as a strategic maneuver, police have been able to stop another threat of a terrorist attack,” Rosenfeld said.
However, he noted that the frequency of attacks over the last week against IDF soldiers has increased in the West Bank, where over 10 knife attacks have taken place and at least five terrorists have been shot dead.
Kippah-Wearing Arab With Hidden Knife Arrested in Tiberias (VIDEO)
Israel Police arrested an Arab aboard a bus in northern Israel on Sunday, carrying a hidden knife and wearing a Jewish skullcap, also known as a kippah, a Reuters correspondent revealed on Twitter.
The Arab spoke about “seeking martyrdom,” according to Dan Williams. A video from the scene of the arrest was posted on YouTube by Israel’s Arutz Sheva. The publication reported that the Arab was detained for questioning and arrested on suspicion of planning a stabbing attack. He boarded at a stop along Route 90, near Kibbutz Gesher, and police intercepted the bus as it entered the city of Tiberias. UPDATE: Suspect has been released (h/t Michael W)

Attack by 2 Palestinian teens foiled in Jerusalem, police say
A police officer apprehended two Palestinian teenagers Tuesday in Jerusalem’s Old City and confiscated an ax and a utility knife that were on their person, and with which they intended to carry out an attack, police said.
The officer’s suspicion was raised by the sight of the two, aged 16 and 17, standing on a street corner and observing passersby, a police statement read. After questioning them, the officer searched their belongings and found the potentially lethal objects.
The teenagers, residents of the Arab East Jerusalem neighborhood of A-Tur, were transferred to a nearby security facility for interrogation.
Earlier in the day, police arrested two Palestinian women who were carrying large knives near the Tomb of the Patriarchs in the West Bank city of Hebron.
American-Israeli Richard Lakin dies two weeks after terrorist attack on Jerusalem bus
American-Israeli Richard Lakin, 76, who was critically wounded in a brutal bus attack in Jerusalem’s Armon Hanatziv neighborhood two weeks ago, died on Tuesday morning, a hospital official announced.
Lakin, a grandfather of eight, is the third victim to die from the October 13 shooting and stabbing attack carried out by two Palestinian terrorists from the adjoining Arab neighborhood of Jebl Mukaber.
Haim Haviv, 78, and Alon Govberg, 51, were also killed, and several other passengers were hospitalized after being seriously wounded, before one of the assailants was shot dead by police and the other arrested.
Lakin, a former principal at Hopewell Elementary School in Glastonbury, Connecticut, underwent numerous emergency surgeries at Hadassah University Medical Center in Ein Kerem after being shot in the head and stabbed multiple times.
On his Facebook page, one of Lakin’s sons praised the hospital’s staff for working “diligently around the clock” to save him, but said his wounds were too grave to be healed.
Undercover unit arrests Hamas, Islamic Jihad operatives in Jenin raid
Security forces led by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and the Border Police's undercover unit in the West Bank arrested two wanted terrorist operatives in the Jenin refugee camp early on Tuesday, on suspicion of planning attacks on the IDF.
Kais Sa'adi, 24, a well-known Hamas operative, has carried out shooting attacks on the IDF, manufactured and planted explosives, and trafficked weapons, the Shin Bet said. He was arrested in the counter-terrorist operation. Islamic Jihad operative Tair Jaradat, 29, was also arrested.
Security forces seized large quantities of arms during the Jenin raid, including an M16 assault rifle, ammunition clips, a handgun, a stun grenade, night-vision goggles, and military vests.
In a separate raid, the Kfir infantry brigade's Duchifat Battalion seized an M16, a handgun, hunting rifles, knives, ammunition, and propaganda material in the village of Talat, southeast of Kalkilya.
Shin Bet: Arab teens plotted knife attack due to incitement, situation on Temple Mount
The two teens were spotted on October 13th lurking at a gas station outside Migdal Ha'emek by a number of passersby who called police to report two young men “behaving strangely”, the Shin Bet said. The two teens fled the scene but were found soon after by officers, who saw them try to throw away a kitchen knife and a makeshift blade while police gave chase.
The Shin Bet said Tuesday that while at the gas station the two pointed out a specific target – a religious Jewish man - but changed their plans when the man’s family arrived at the station.
According to the security agency, under questioning the two teens – both from an Arab village near Migdal Ha'emek - admitted that “they were deeply influenced by recent events and by incitement dealing with claims about Israel’s actions on the Temple Mount.”
They were also told investigators that they were upset that “Arabs can’t pray at the [al-Aksa] mosque” and that they were inspired by recent stabbing attacks in Jerusalem.
Rocket from Gaza hits open area in southern Israel
At least one rocket fired from the Gaza Strip hit southern Israel on Monday evening, as air-raid sirens sounded across the communities adjacent to the Hamas-ruled Palestinian territory.
The Israel Defense Forces said the rocket, which landed in an open area in the Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council, caused no injuries or damage.
Local residents reported hearing an explosion outside one of the Israeli communities adjacent to the border fence.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

Rabbi’s First Interview Since Stabbing Attack in France: Assailant Wasn’t ‘Crazy,’ Bystanders Did Nothing
The rabbi attacked outside a Marseilles synagogue on Saturday morning, the Jewish Sabbath, conveyed his version of events in an exclusive interview with the French-Jewish publication Actualité Juive on Monday.
Wanting to set the record straight, and to “restore some truth,” the rabbi — referred to only by the initial “A” — was responding to what he considers to be misleading reports in the French press about the attack on him, his 19-year-old son and a friend, by a knife-wielding assailant.
For example, the French daily Le Figaro made a point of stressing that the assailant, a Muslim-Arab in his 30s, was drunk and mentally unstable when he lunged at his victims with a knife, after hurling antisemitic epithets at them and mumbling “Allahu Akbar.”
The rabbi, still in shock a mere two days after the assault, in which his friend suffered multiple stab wounds to the abdomen, told Actualité Juive that while he appeared to have been tipsy, “The perpetrator was not crazy.”
Netanyahu's Call For Civilians To Be Armed Has Saved Lives in Israel
The current “wave of terror” where Palestinians attack Israeli citizens has taken at least 10 lives, but the death toll might very well have been higher if it wasn’t for armed civilians.
Attackers are much more likely to die because civilians have armed themselves in recent weeks. Fatalities among Palestinians more than double that of stabbing victims during October.
Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu made a controversial call earlier this month for citizens who legally own firearms to bring them to the streets to increase security amid the wave of stabbings.
“The responsible civilian population — in the framework of the rule of law — has a part to play,” Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev said in an interview with CNN Oct. 15. “We’ve urged Israelis to be vigilant. … Having the civilian population work closely with law enforcement is one of the keys in defeating this threat.”
Israel Developing Emergency Mobile App to Fight Terror, Netanyahu Says
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Monday that the government is developing an emergency smartphone application that would allow anyone to notify security forces immediately in the event of a terror attack.
“We will develop an application for all citizens, for free of course. Anyone who has a mobile phone—which is everyone —will be able to press a button that will immediately send a trace of his location to security forces. This will allow the forces to intervene quickly in Jerusalem and all Israeli cities,” Netanyahu said, as translated from the Ma’ariv newspaper.
In addition, the Hebrew edition of Yedioth Ahronoth quoted Netanyahu as saying, “Since the beginning of the [current] terror wave, the Israeli security cabinet has held eight discussions. We are acting to de-escalate the sensitive explosiveness of the Temple Mount in order to reduce the level of violence.”
PreOccupiedTerritory: Netanyahu Unveils “I’m Being Stabbed” App (satire)
The app launch is one of several other measures aimed at helping Israelis combat the wave of attacks, including the possible revocation of Israeli citizenship from East Jerusalem residents involved in such attacks. I’m Being Stabbed is configured to work with the user’s Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, and Instagram accounts, and activates the phone’s camera to capture the action and post the content automatically. Netanyahu said next month extensions will be made available for Tinder and JDate, to help those users looking to spice up their profiles with the street cred of having been attacked by an Arab with a sharp implement. By January, he said, a companion app called I’m Being Firebombed will launch, to serve users under attack with Molotov cocktails.
Critics of the prime minister called I’m Beng Stabbed too little, too late, and said it was Netanyahu’s own policies that made the app necessary. “If Bibi were serious about Israel’s security, not only would he be pursuing final-status negotiations with the Palestinians with greater alacrity, but he would include stoning attacks in this app’s capabilities,” charged Opposition leader Isaac Herzog. “No government under my aegis would be so negligent as to leave out such an important element of the Israeli experience.”
Likud lawmakers defended the app, saying Herzog was in no position to criticize it. “Buji would die to have something as dramatic as getting attacked happen to him,” said Minister for Jerusalem Affairs Gilad Erdan. “Just look at the way the Left pretends they’re under constant attack and incitement, as if that somehow makes them more interesting to the electorate.” He recalled an incident following the election campaign earlier this year when Herzog claimed his wife’s car was stoned, when in fact the damage was from debris kicked up by a passing vehicle.
MK Ahmad Tibi of the Joint Arab List called the app discriminatory, and that the government should have also allocated funds to develop an “I’m Stabbing You” app.
Watch: Hevron woman chases German far-left activists
Anat Cohen of Hevron turned into a Facebook celebrity overnight after a video emerged of her confronting and scaring off two German leftists.
The altercation was documented on Shuhada Street, where many leftists from abroad loiter in attempts to harass Jews and stage provocations between local Jews and Arabs.
"Why? Why help them?" she is seen saying. "Why? To kill us? Why are you helping them?" She strikes one of the leftist's camera, frightens them and sends them scampering off.
She told Walla! News that one of the Germans had attacked her before the scene that was captured on tape and that she was only reacting to this provocation.
"This is what they do," she explained. "They come from Europe to videotape everything, all the time, and it is nothing short of collecting intelligence and disseminating it throughout the world. The fact that the state of Israel does nothing about it is a sign of stupidity or worse."
Reuters Graphic: Palestinians, Israelis Die in "Street Violence"
Following last week's photo caption which whitewashed Palestinian attacks against Israelis as "Palestinians confronting Israelis," Reuters' graphics department has come up with new terminology for Palestinian stabbings, shootings and ramming attacks against Israeli civilians and security forces: "street violence."
The text at the top left of the graphic reads:
At least fifty-five Palestinians and nine Israelis have died in recent street violence, which was in part triggered by Palestinians' anger over what they see as Jewish encroachment on Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
In fact, some 30 Palestinians were killed as they carried out, or attempted to carry out, stabbing, shooting and ramming attacks against Israelis. The rest were killed as they engaged in violent clashes with Israeli security forces. The nine Israelis were killed in Palestinian stabbing, ramming and shooting attacks.
USA Today Turns Jerusalem 'Neighborhood' into 'Jewish Settlement'
USA Today’s “1 Single Street, 2 Worlds Apart” makes several errors that could potentially misinform readers. Reporter Michele Chabin describes two east Jerusalem neighborhoods. One, Jabel Mukaber, is Arab. The other, Armon Hanatziv, is Jewish. As the headline notes, the neighborhoods are separated by a single street. So why are they described as “worlds apart?” The article omits essential details that could have gone far in explaining why this is the case.
USA Today can’t seem to make up its mind on how to describe the eastern Jerusalem neighborhoods. Beneath a large photograph depicting a young Palestinian girl running past a wall constructed to prevent Arab attacks on Israelis, a cutline describes Jabel Mukaber as a “Palestinian neighborhood.” By contrast, the Jewish neighborhood of Armon Hanatziv next door is called a “Jewish settlement.” This contradicts the article’s own description of Armon Hanatziv as a “Jewish neighborhood.” “Settlement” implies a temporary, even colonial status when contrasted with “neighborhood.”
Chabin uncritically quotes Daoud Kuttab who claims “Palestinians in East Jerusalem pay the same national and municipal taxes as Jews in West Jerusalem but receive a fraction of the services.” A visit to these neighborhoods Kuttab says, “Show clearly a huge disparity.” USA Today fails to ask Kuttab why differences exist. CAMERA previously has noted that disparities between Jewish and Arab neighborhoods in east Jerusalem or Israeli Jewish and nearby Israeli Arab towns are sometimes the result of higher rates of Arab tax avoidance or failure to pay for municipal services and/or even accepting services from the Jewish state. In eastern Jerusalem some such instances may reflect an intention not to accept the legitimacy of Israel or reluctance or refusal to have any involvement with municipal politics (“East Jerusalem: Setting the Record Straight,” Nov. 21, 2013).
Whose Lives Matter? The Media on Israel and Ferguson
Random acts of violence. Daily stabbings. Bystanders run down on the sidewalks. A religious couple shot dead in front of their four children.
There’s one predictable narrative we can be certain will emerge from these horrific headlines: It’s Israel’s fault.
So says James Zogby, president of the Arab-American Institute. But Mr. Zogby offered an additional insight in an interview with Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC.
“Palestinian lives matter,” declared Mr. Zogby.
“Look, there’s a bit of Ferguson going on here. Maybe a little bit more than a bit of Ferguson… Unless we find a way for those who control the occupation — it’s not the Palestinians, it’s the Israelis — to give these kids a ray of hope, to say that there is a future for you that’s different than what you’re seeing right now, this isn’t going to end… The violence is the result of a situation of despair that is eating away at the lives and souls of both peoples.
“Palestinians are at the end of the day the ultimate victims.”
Mr. Zogby’s comparison is absolutely right. But he’s right for all the wrong reasons.
The Judean People's Front: The Concise Palestinian Dictionary
One of the biggest problems supporters of Israel are encountering today is not just ideological - Zionism vs. radical Islam - but rather linguistic. We know that while Israel haters have no compunction about lying, most normal people do. So when promoting their radical agenda the BDS-holes have a major problem:
How can people committed to ethnically cleansing Israel of Jews through terrorism, people who support violently misogynistic and homophobic organizations, gain the support of good-hearted, progressive westerners?
Sure, getting the media to promote lies like "attacks on the Temple Mount" or framing a Palestinian stabber as a victim rather than terrorist help, but that can only go so far.
In order to win over the West, the Palestinians have simply decided to redefine the English language in a way that casts them in a positive light. That is why when talking to Palestinians and their supporters one cannot just consult an Concise Oxford English Dictionary, rather one must consult the Concise Palestinian Dictionary to understand their true goals.
Ethnic Cleansing
[eth-nik klenz ing]
Noun.
Western Definition
The elimination of an unwanted ethnic group or groups from a society, as by genocide or forced emigration. As a result, the population of a group that undergoes ethnic cleansing is invariably smaller afterwards.
Palestinian Definition
1- Any act taken by Israel against a Palestinian individual, family or home, regardless of the act's legality.
If a Palestinian illegally builds a home on land he does not own and is removed from it by Israel, that is ethnic cleansing.
2- Ethnic cleansing need not significantly diminish the numbers of Palestinians in a given area.
3- Any military act undertaken by Israel, regardless of intent, action or result.
Islamic Movement leader Raed Salah's appeal rejected, to serve 11 month sentence
Raed Salah, the leader of the extremist Northern Branch of the Islamic Movement, had his appeal rejected in the Jerusalem District Court on Tuesday and will have to serve the 11-month sentence he received in March for incitement in a speech he gave in 2007.
Salah is scheduled to begin serving his sentence on November 15.
The verdict comes at a sensitive time of daily terrorist attacks by Palestinians against Israelis. The decision could set off even more protests and violence from within the Israeli Arab sector, which sees Salah as one of its leaders.
Joint List MK and Ta’al party chairman Ahmad Tibi told The Jerusalem Post after the court decision that it “was influenced by the impassioned public atmosphere.”
Walmart stirs controversy for selling IDF soldier children's Halloween costume
Gigantic US retailer Walmart has stirred controversy on social media by offering for sale a children's IDF soldier Halloween costume, the BBC has reported.
The costume is available on the store's website for $27.44, according to the report. The BBC noted that the retailer has not yet reacted to the criticism.
The sale of the soldier uniform comes at a time when violence has spiked in Israel. Eleven Israelis have been killed in attacks by Palestinians and fifty-five Palestinians, for the most part suspected terrorists, have been killed by Israeli security forces and Israeli civilians.
Another Halloween item for sale on Walmart's site that was stirring controversy was the "Sheikh Fagin nose," a large latex prosthetic nose described on the website as being "perfect for an Arab Sheik," the BBC reported.

Amb. David Roet's statement on the UN's 70th Anniversary
“Every day, UN programs and personnel help to improve the lives of millions around the world by distributing food aid, protecting the environment, vaccinating children, and in countless other constructive capacities.
The UN’s 70th anniversary is a time to celebrate the important accomplishments of this institution’s past, but it is also an opportunity to reflect on the course we are charting as an organization today. Let us ask ourselves- are we living up to the ideals and commitments visualized by the Charter.
The ongoing double standards and delegitimization that Israel faces in these halls is not only harmful to the Jewish state, it denigrates the core principles this institution was founded on.”
Israel’s Deputy Permanent Representative, Ambassador David Roet, delivered remarks on the UN’s 70th anniversary.

Iran Shuns Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Favor of Shiite Terror Group
Iran is changing its priorities where employing proxies in Gaza is concerned, the London-based, Saudi-backed Asharq Al-Awsat reported on Sunday.
According to the report, Tehran is scaling back support for Sunni terror groups Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), while throwing more weight behind the Shiite Al-Sabirin movement — a move that has aroused great anger within the scorned organizations.
Iranian support has already enabled Al-Sabirin to pay the salaries of its 400 employees and arm its militants. This amounts to $300-$400 per month for most, and $700 per month for those in leadership positions.
Al-Sabirin, whose flag is a variation of that of Hezbollah in Lebanon, was formed within the last three years and operates mainly in northern Gaza. Its Secretary General is Hisham Salem, a former PIJ leader with close ties to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Hezbollah leadership.
Competing Jihadists Place 2 Million Euro Bounty on Hezbollah Chief’s Head
The leader of an Al-Qaeda affiliate in Syria placed a two-million-euro bounty on the head of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in the latest edition of Al-Risalah, a new English-language publication put out by self-described “jihadi fighters in Syria.”
Abu Mohammad Al-Julani, head of the terrorist organization Jabhat Al-Nusra (which owns the magazine), signed the “wanted dead” poster featuring Nasrallah.
“I offer a reward of €2 million to whoever kills Hassan Nasrullah (sic), even if they be from his people or family,” Al-Julani wrote.
He also promised to guarantee the safety of Nasrallah’s assassin, saying, “[Jabhat Al-Nusra] will provide security for him and his family and deliver him to wherever he wishes, and I am guarantor of that, Allah willing.”
A similar offer and guarantee was made for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, albeit with a higher reward — €3 million.
Hitler Killed in Syria
According to several Arab sources, last Sunday, Hezbollah commander Hitler Yusuf Bero, 47, died from three bullets that were shot through his chest by a 23-year-old assassin in Lebanon. Other sources suggest the killing took place in Syria.
The background to the killing was blood revenge between different clans in the Bekaa Valley. Hitler Yusuf’s description in one account reveals that he was an experienced warrior, well familiar with the local terrain and a good military tactician.
Apparently, the late Hitler was involved in the accidental (or intentional, there are sources claiming either) killing of some children from a rival clan, three years ago. The killer’s clan and the injured one have spent the past three years negotiating a peace, but in the end Hitler was unwilling or unable to pay up.
The late Hitler was a close associate of Imad Mughniyah, a senior member of Lebanon’s Islamic Jihad Organization and Hezbollah, who returned to the merciful Allah in a car bomb blast in the Damascus, Syria, back in 2008. Hitler fought in the 2006 Second Lebanon War against Israel, and with the Hezbollah forces in Syria.
