08/27 Links Pt1: Hamas's "Victory"; UN, How Did Hamas Rockets End Up In Your Gaza Facilities?

From Ian:

Hamas's "Victory"
What is sad is that the Gazans have not yet been able to free themselves from the yoke of Hamas.
The world seems not to understand that Hamas, like ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood, does not exist in a vacuum. It is one cog in the radical Islamist wheel that threatens the Arab and Muslim world and the major cities of Europe.
The Western world also seems not to understand that it has to incapacitate or totally neutralize the countries funding terrorism, such as Iran, Qatar and Turkey, for whom the Palestinian problem is only a pretext on the way to destroying the Western world as we know it and replacing it with only Islam.
Caroline Glick: Embracing the obvious truth
It isn’t hard to understand the truth about Israel and Hamas.
Four-year-old Daniel Tragerman was murdered on Friday afternoon in his home in Kibbutz Nahal Oz by Hamas terrorists.
They shot him with a mortar launched from a school in Gaza’s Zeitoun neighborhood. At the time of the launch, the school was filled with civilians who had fled to the school for shelter.
They fled to the school for shelter because they were forced to vacate their homes.
They were forced to vacate their homes because Hamas terrorists were launching mortars and rockets at Israeli civilian sites, like Daniel Tragerman’s home, from their apartment buildings.
The moral and ideological divide between Israel and Hamas is so self-evident that the only way to ignore it is by embracing and cultivating ignorance.
Times of Israel Live Blog: Ceasefire holds; Israeli officials say Hamas dealt heavy blow
Wednesday, August 27, the first day since an open-ended truce was agreed by Israel and Hamas. Hamas killed two Israelis in a mortar attack just before the truce took effect Tuesday evening, bringing the Israeli death toll in Operation Protective Edge to 70, and Israel struck targets in Gaza including several high-rises where it said Hamas had command centers. Hamas hailed victory in the conflict; Israel’s cabinet was divided on the truce terms, but was not asked to vote on the deal.
"UN, How Did Hamas Rockets End Up In Your Gaza Facilities?" European Group Demands
The European Center for Law & Justice (ECLJ)—the international affiliate of the American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ)—today called on the Secretary-General of the United Nations to conduct an independent investigation to determine why UN facilities in Gaza were used to support Hamas operatives in their attacks on Israel. It has been widely reported that Hamas terrorist rockets were unlawfully stored in United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) facilities.
"The law-abiding member nations of the UN deserve the facts—deserve the truth—about why Hamas was permitted to use UN facilities in its unlawful attacks on Israel," said Jay Sekulow, who serves as Chief Counsel of the ECLJ as well as the ACLJ. "The very reputation and legitimacy of the UN and its various arms and agencies are at stake, especially since Hamas is widely recognized as a terrorist organization. What's worse—the return to Hamas of the rockets unlawfully stored in UNRWA facilities strongly suggests that UNRWA employees may be acting in concert and/or cooperating with Hamas operatives in unlawfully attacking a UN member state. That cannot be tolerated and may, in fact, constitute a war crime. At a minimum, it places in question the legitimacy and impartiality of all UNRWA operations in Gaza." (h/t Yenta Press)

Council of Jewish Women backs call to probe UNRWA for actions during Gaza crisis
The International Council of Jewish Women has called on US officials to investigate the UN agency responsible for Palestine refugees for its actions during the current Gaza war.
On August 21, ICJW sent letters of support to three US senators who have called for an independent investigation into UNRWA’s role during the current round of fighting between Israel and terrorists in the Gaza Strip. Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Florida), Mark Kirk (R-Illinois) and Ben Cardin (D-Maryland) wrote a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry, urging the top US diplomat to investigate the agency.
On Monday, ICJW also sent a letter to Kerry, throwing its support behind the initiative.
”As taxpayers I think we have the right to question and find out,” ICJW’s Judy Mintz said. “I would point to Hamas using that sensibility that we feel for those UN workers being there, that we feel for the Palestinian loss of life and damage.
“When we learned about their [the senators’] action, we wanted to show our support to them, and to add whatever clout we might have to pressure an investigation,” she said.
Pro-Israel NGO Calls on US to Reject UN Gaza Commission
The leading officials of the Simon Wiesenthal Center told U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to reject the United Nation’s Human Rights Council’s “independent” Commission on Gaza.
Rabbis Marvin Hier and Abraham Cooper, Dean and Associate Dean of the SWC took the unusual step of sending a letter to Kerry and Holder because, they wrote, the Commission’s Chair, William Schabas, has already outed himself as biased against Israel.
Schabes publicly stated that the UN should not be prosecuting the president of Sudan, but it should prosecute then-Israeli President Shimon Peres. He also said that his first choice for person to put in the dock at the International Criminal Court to be tried for war crimes is Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
IDF Blog: Hamas Manual Calls for Hiding Bombs in Civilian Homes
During Operation Protective Edge, IDF soldiers captured a Hamas manual that recommends storing explosives in Gaza’s civilian homes and calls for bringing the battle into populated areas.
The IDF has captured a military manual published by the Engineering Corps of Hamas’ military wing, the Al Qassam Brigades.
The explosives manual recommends teaching civilians how to build and store bombs in their homes. According to the manual, the goal is “to transfer combat from open areas to built-up urban areas, which serves the ‘resistance’ [i.e. Hamas] and fighters of Islamic Jihad.”
The manual also states that “it is easier for Jihad fighters to operate inside buildings and to take advantage of this in order to evade reconnaissance planes used to attack and gather intelligence. Additionally, [operating from populated areas] helps strengthen the element of surprise.”
WSJ editorial: What Hamas does to Palestinian moderates
One of the myths about the Middle East is that there would be peace if only Israel courted Palestinian moderates. This might be possible if any Palestinian who harbored such a thought wasn't summarily executed.
On Friday Hamas shot 18 fellow Palestinians on suspicion that they had collaborated with Israel. Here's how a Journal dispatch put it:
"In one instance, about 20 militants dressed in black and with their faces covered brought six of the condemned men, their heads covered with cloth bags, to an alley near the Great Omari Mosque in Gaza City after midday prayers, witnesses said. A militant shot the men in the head one at a time with a pistol, after which he sprayed them with automatic rifle fire, the witnesses said. The bodies were loaded into government ambulances and taken away."
In any case Hamas considers the public demonstration to be more important than guilt or innocence. The public killings are intended to show anyone who dissents that they will suffer the same fate.
The practice goes back to the days of the British mandate when the mufti Haj Amin al-Husseini killed Palestinians open to a Jewish presence. During the anti-Israel uprisings in the 1980s, Yasser Arafat's Fatah faction that still rules the West Bank murdered some 800 Palestinians for alleged collaboration. The Palestinians will never have peace as long as they keep murdering anyone who wants it.
IDF Fires at Syria after Officer is Wounded in Golan
Pitched battles between Syrian president Bashar Assad's forces and rebels, in the area of Quneitra, spilled over into Israel Wednesday morning. Two mortar shells exploded in the Israeli Golan Heights.
They caused no casualties but damaged some vehicles. Shortly afterwards, an IDF officer was light-to-moderately wounded by what is believed to be stray gunfire from the battle in Quneitra.
IDF artillery fired at a Syrian military position in retaliation for the attacks.
Around 3 p.m. it was reported that opposition forces managed to take control of Al Rawadi, a village in Syria located in close proximity to the Quneitra Crossing to Israel. The fierce fighting between the Syrian army and opposition forces was continuing at full force, reports Yedioth Aharonoth.
Gaza cease-fire: 'Israel's goals met, Hamas achieved nothing'
Israeli officials emphasized that there were no direct talks with Hamas because the Palestinian delegation was headed by a Palestinian Authority official. A source close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the cease-fire was "not an arrangement; it is a cease-fire." The source said that "a comprehensive deal will be possible only after the two sides discuss the various demands in a month's time."
Another Israeli government official noted that Israel did not "lift the blockade" and that by agreeing to the cease-fire, Hamas accepted the terms it had rejected earlier. Israeli officials further noted that Hamas did not get what it wanted on a whole host of issues: the payment of the salaries of Hamas employees, the construction of a seaport and an airport, and the release of Hamas-affiliated inmates, including those from the 2011 Schalit prisoner swap who were rearrested as part of Operation Brother's Keeper in June. Hamas also tried unsuccessfully to have Qatar step in as the mediator and to agree on an expiration date for the cease-fire, the official said.
Israel emerges victorious
In the grand scheme of things, Israel has come out on top. It managed to secure a cease-fire without compromising on its terms. It essentially got what it had demanded all along, even before the fighting commenced. Hamas, on the other hand, now has to account for its various shortfalls. It has lost 1,000 terrorists, 32 tunnels, and 7,000 rockets (which did not inflict significant damage). This is the truth, despite the bereaving heart putting a damper on our victory celebrations. Of course, there are always those who claim the cease-fire is premature; that there is a missed opportunity.
Just before the finish line, Netanyahu faltered. He should have let the ministers vote on the cease-fire. He had the votes. Had he done so, everyone would have had to own up to his or her decision; no minister could claim to have nothing to do with the cease-fire and the quiet that has fallen on the fields of anemones in the Gaza border area.
How Israel made Hamas crawl to a cease-fire in Gaza
Hamas was forced to accept Egyptian and Israeli dictates.
Hamas crawled to the cease-fire. One should not be impressed by the well-organized victory festivities in Gaza. Most of Hamas’s demands and preconditions were rejected from the outset.
The cease-fire is unlimited in time and Hamas was not promised anything except that which had been offered at the start of the military campaign.
Full of itself and arrogant, it miscalculated. If Hamas had not rejected the offers, Israel would not have launched a ground incursion. Hamas’s 32 attacking tunnels would not have been destroyed. Its rockets and mortar shells wouldn’t be reduced to a residual arsenal of 20 percent – from 10,000 to approximately 2,000.
And most importantly, parts of Gaza wouldn’t have been destroyed.
Unfortunately, Gaza has been set back decades. More than 5,000 houses were destroyed. Thousands were damaged and on the verge of collapse. Gaza has been suffering water and electricity shortages.
Liberman: Israel can't ensure safety of citizens in the South as long as Hamas rules Gaza
A day after Israel agreed to a cease-fire seemingly putting an end to Operation Protection Edge, Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman said that Israel must not, under any circumstances, agree to a diplomatic deal with Hamas.
"As long as Hamas controls Gaza, we won't be able to ensure the safety of Israel's citizens in the South and we won't be able to make a peace agreement," he wrote on his Facebook page.
Liberman said Hamas was neither a partner for a diplomatic agreement nor for a security agreement.
"It is impossible and forbidden to trust lowly murderers. Therefore, we are against a cease-fire that allows Hamas to rearm and wage another battle against Israel whenever it finds it comfortable," the foreign minister said.
Likud Minister Says Gaza Operation was 'For Nothing'
Intelligence Minister Yuval Steinitz (Likud) spoke in an interview on Wednesday about Operation Protective Edge, which reached a somewhat anti-climatic conclusion the night before at 7 p.m., when a ceasefire was signed between Israel and the terror organization Hamas.
Talking to BBC's HARDtalk TV program, Steinitz summarized the 50 day operation as being "for nothing. This was an unnecessary round of violence between us and the Palestinians - the Hamas in Gaza - that brought only misery and suffering on both sides, without any significant cause, without any significant effect."
Nevertheless Steinitz, a close associate of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, rejected the interviewer's assertion that the operation was a "strategic failure" for Israel, noting that the goal was to protect Israel's citizens.
US, UN 'Strongly Support' Israel-Hamas Ceasefire
US Secretary of State John Kerry called the deal "an opportunity, not a certainty," even while stating his "strong support" for the agreement.
"We are approaching the next phase with our eyes wide open. We have been down this road before and we are all aware of the challenges ahead. Today’s agreement comes after many hours and days of intensive discussions about how a sustainable ceasefire might provide the space and the opportunity to address long-term issues," said Kerry.
Kerry also said "certain bedrock outcomes" will need to be incorporated in any long-term arrangement, including a cessation of terror tunnels and rocket attacks on Israel.
US State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki said earlier "we strongly support the cease fire announcement." However, she added that Kerry has no plans to restart the peace process anytime soon, after his last attempt failed in April as the PA signed a unity deal with Hamas.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon also remarked on the ceasefire on Tuesday, saying he hoped it would be a prelude to a final peace deal.
The UN is ready to support efforts to deal with the "structural factors of conflict" between Israel and Gaza, the UN spokesman said according to AFP.
Ceasefire Begins, With Rockets Still Raining Down on Israel
An Egyptian-brokered ceasefire began at 7 p.m. (16:00 GMT) today (Tuesday), after being officially accepted by the Israeli government just minutes before.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu informed cabinet ministers of the decision via a telephone call, just minutes before it was to go into effect.
Communications Minister Gilad Erdan (Likud) and Economics Minister Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home) both voiced their opposition to the truce decision, saying the government needed to crush Gazan terrorist groups.
But despite the declarations terrorists in Gaza continued to launch rocket and mortar attacks even after the ceasefire took effect. At approximately 7:05 p.m. Red Alert sirens sounded in the Gaza Belt region, followed by yet more sirens minutes later.
At 7:15 p.m. more rocket sirens were sounded in the Eshkol Regional Council area, indicating a further breach of the declared ceasefire.
Since then, however, there have been no further reports of rocket attacks.
Qatar says it’s ready to rebuild Gaza Strip
Qatar, a key backer of Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, hailed the Gaza ceasefire accord and offered to help rebuild the enclave battered by seven weeks of Israeli bombardment in response to rocket fire emanating from the Strip.
The accord for a long-term ceasefire which came into effect on Tuesday was thanks “firstly to the resistance and the sacrifices” of the Palestinians, the gas-rich Gulf emirate said in a statement.
Iran: Gaza put the Zionist regime on its knees
The Iranian Foreign Ministry congratulated the Palestinians for their "victory" over the "Zionist aggressors."
The statement referred to "the resistance in Palestine" and "Gaza's brave combatants," failing to mention Hamas or Islamic Jihad by name. The Iranian regime is believed to be a main funder of the Gaza terror groups.
Iran said that the victory "highlighted Iran`s support for the resistance of the Palestinian nation in the future," adding that Jerusalem would ultimately be "liberated" from the "occupation" of Israel.
"The success to impose the demands of the resistance groups on the Zionist culprits in the uneven war of Gaza is the outcome of the sacrifices made by thousands of martyrs who fought to uphold the flag of resistance in the world despite non-human Zionist actions," the ministry said.
50 Days of Operation Protective Edge: 842 Israeli Casualties
Israel's Magen David Adom (MDA) ambulance service attended to 842 civilian casualties during 50 days of Operation Protective Edge, as terrorists in Gaza showered rockets and mortars on Israeli population centers.
That number included five fatalities, and 37 people suffering various degrees of injury from rocket shrapnel. Of those, one was classified as "critically" wounded, 10 others as "serious", six as "moderate" and 20 as "light".
MDA treated a further 33 people for injuries sustained from glass or collapsing buildings, 18 people injured in traffic accidents as they rushed to find shelter during air raid sirens - one of whom was injured seriously, and the rest of whom were treated for moderate to light wounds - and a further 159 people injured by falling or in other accidents on the way to bomb shelters.
Nine other people were injured in other acts of terrorism during that period, including one man who was moderately injured in a stabbing attack in Maaleh Adumim.
DRock Ambush Injures Baby in Samaria
An 11-month-old baby girl was lightly hurt Wednesday when Arabs threw rocks at the car she was in, at Yitzhar junction in Samaria.
A Magen David Adom ambulance that was alerted reached the junction and gave the baby first aid. It then took her to Schneider Children's Hospital in Petah Tikva.
The ambulance driver said that the rock that hit the baby was the size of a fist and that the fact that the baby did not suffer more severe injuries is “a miracle.”
Eshkol Rocket Victim was Security Coordinator of Kibbutz
The name of one of the victims of Tuesday’s mortar attack on Kibbutz Nirim in the Eshkol Regional Council was cleared for publication on Tuesday night: Ze’evik Etzion, 55.
Etzion, the security coordinator of Kibbutz Nirim, was the first casualty in the attack. He was critically wounded and shortly thereafter died of his wounds.
A second person, whose name has not yet been disclosed, was pronounced dead at the Soroka Hospital on Tuesday evening.
Etzion is survived by his wife and five children. Five other people were wounded in the rocket attack, and they are all receiving treatment in hospital.
Kindergarten Principal on Gaza Rocket: ‘We’re Lucky Kids Weren’t There’ (VIDEO)
An Israeli kindergarten principal in Ashdod, whose school was hit by a rocket from Gaza on Tuesday, is deeply worried that the school year may not start next week, Israel’s Channel 2 News reported.
“I’d just gotten home, and there was siren, and a [rocket] strike,” in the playground of the 35-pupil center, Ninette Peretz said.
Rocket shrapnel tore through a slide, and destroyed other playground toys, according to photo released by the IDF.
“I’d left just 10 minutes earlier, with the assistant, since we were preparing for the new school year,” she told police. “I heard about it and I’m shaking,” she said.
“An immense tragedy was averted here, thank God – we’re lucky that the children weren’t here,” she said with relief.
Scores Flock to Donate Blood Platelets for Wounded IDF Soldier
The Israeli public responded in force to the parents of an IDF soldier injured in Gaza fighting who asked for blood platelet donations, due to the severity of his condition,Israel’s Channel 2 News reported Tuesday.
“We’ve had a lot of requests, and many have signed up,” according to Naomi and Shimon Shalev, parents of Shachar, a paratrooper who was seriously wounded by a roadside bomb in Gaza on July 23rd, soon after Operation Protective Edge began 50 days ago. Three of his buddies were killed in the explosion, from the hidden charge.
Shachar needs a dose a day, according to the report, and the supplies on hand at Haifa’s Rambam medical center were running low, until his parents put out the call – with surprising results, according to the family, who are residents of Kibbutz Alonei Habashan in the Golan Heights.
Watch: Iron Dome Intercepts More Than 10 Rockets at Once
A video showing Iron Dome rockets fanning out to intercept multiple enemy rockets has gone contagiously viral worldwide.
The video appears to have been shot at a military checkpoint of some sort – possibly the Kerem Shalom crossing into Gaza. The white-smoke remains of at least 10 bursts that usually indicate an interception can be identified in the sky.
It has been viewed by more than 780,000 people in just one day since being uploaded to Youtube.
PA official justifies shooting civilians: "There are no innocent Israelis"
Senior Palestinian official and Fatah leader, Abbas Zaki, stated that he does not want the Palestinian Authority to join the International Criminal Court, because if Palestinians shoot Israelis they could then be tried in international courts. Discussing this, Zaki added that in his opinion "there are no innocent Israelis."
Member of Fatah Central Committee Abbas Zaki: "I'm against signing the Rome Statute (i.e., joining the International Criminal Court) as long as our country is occupied. If tomorrow you shoot, they’ll say you signed an agreement. This is not meant for people who want to liberate their country... I think the [Palestinian] people’s weapon is pure - they don’t want to kill. By the way, there are no innocent Israelis."

Qatar Pledges to Fund New Gaza Flotilla After Turkey Pulls Support (VIDEO)
IHH last month said they’d try to repeat the act, soon.
“The organization will send another flotilla after they receive permission from the government in Ankara that Turkish naval forces will defend the flotilla and its participants,” IHH leader, Bulent Yildirim, said.
Ankara, however, pulled its support for the planned protest several weeks ago.
Both IHH and Qatar are close to Hamas, and Yildirim reportedly also has ties to al-Qaeda.
According to Turkey’s Hurriyet Daily News, “Yildirim is being investigated for allegedly financing al-Qaeda through his organization,” daily Habertürk has reported.
“The probe, led by an Istanbul specially authorized prosecutor, accuses Yildirim of ‘providing financial aid to al-Qaeda via his foundation” with absolute secrecy, reportedly without official numbering and identification.
Qatar has faced harsh criticism from Israel in recent weeks over its funding for terror group Hamas which has been engaged in an ongoing battle with the Jewish state.
Hamas Official: We'll Build Our Seaport without Permission
Senior Hamas official Mahmoud Al-Zahar declared on Tuesday that the group would build a seaport and airport in Gaza, even without permission.
Al-Zahar hinted that any construction materials brought into Gaza for the purpose of its reconstruction will also be used for the construction of the seaport and airport.
"We will build our airport and our seaports and we will not ask for anyone's permission, and whoever will attack our ports and our airport we will attack their own ports and will once again attack again their airport," he said.
Jews, Don't Let the Terrorists Run Your Lives
I am very sad. Because a little beautiful Israeli child named Daniel Tregerman has been killed by mortars. He froze in fear when the siren sounded. His legs were too short to get to the shelter on time.
During the Holocaust, over a million Jewish children were gassed for the same reason he was killed.
I grieve for the two killed at Kibbutz Nirim on Tuesday.
But I am sad also because his parents decided to abandon their house and not to return to their kibbutz along Gaza’s border.
I do hope they will repopulate the security belt which protect the entire State of Israel.
It is a symbolic war being fought in Gaza, with portent for the fate of the Jewish people and state.
If nobody lives in Tregerman's house again it will be another victory for the Islamist scum who murdered their child.
Responses from Press Complaints Commission: as expected a complete whitewash of anti-Israel reporting
I have had responses to two of the complaints I have recently submitted to the Press Complaints Commission (one to a series of articles over several days in the Sun, and one to a set of articles on 1 August in the Standard). The responses can be summarised as:
"Newspapers have discretion to be completely biased as long as they do not write things which have been proven to be false in a court of law - and in the absence of such proof they can accept what Hamas says as being true and ignore what Israel says as being false."
… and the majority were not civilian
Aim of Petition
Petition BBC to modify its Hamas preferred boilerplate on Gaza casualties and the civilian-combatant ratio to reflect that those figures come from an openly biased source and are highly disputed by Israel.
The full petition
Modify the BBC Gaza boilerplate “on the Palestinian side more than [whatever is their current claim] have been killed, the majority of them civilians” to “Hamas sources claim [whatever is their current claim] have been killed, the majority of them civilians. However Israeli sources strenuously contest this claim as to both the total number and the percentage of those killed who can be claimed to be civilian“.
CiF Watch prompts correction to erroneous Times of London headline
On Aug. 5th, the Times of London published an article titled ‘Refugee camp hit as Israel admits it broke truce’.
However, the article didn’t include any information even suggesting that Israel had “admitted” breaking the truce. Indeed, news sites reported that the time of the attack (aimed at a senior Hamas operative) was clearly in dispute.
After several complaints to Times editors, they agreed to revise the headline.
Guardian fauxtography: Chris McGreal pulls a Jon Donnison
You no doubt recall when, during the last war in Gaza in 2012, BBC’s Jon Donnison tweeted a photo of a girl with the title “Pain in Gaza”, to which Donnison added his own commentary – “Heartbreaking”. It of course turned out that the genuinely heartbreaking image was actually from Syria and not from Gaza – a mistake for which Donnison subsequently apologized.
Well, within the last hour, the Guardian’s Chris McGreal just retweeted the following, to his nearly 4,000 followers, a Tweet by Sarah Leah Whitson, Executive Director, Middle East and North Africa Division, for Human Rights Watch.
However, this photo of a boy (8 year old Eid) holding his new prosthetic leg was taken in Syria, not Gaza.
Paltry Crowd Fails to Block Israeli Ship at Seattle Port
For the past two weeks the pro-Hamas Twittersphere and Facebook universe have been all abuzz about the latest tactic in the domestic war against the Jewish state, something they call Block The Boat (or #blocktheboat). The goal according to their nonstop social media PR machine is to block Israeli commerce from entering US ports by preventing Israeli ships from offloading their cargo. Following embarrassing efforts in the Bay Area and a complete flop in Tacoma, the block the boat circus finally made it to the Port of Seattle’s Terminal 18 on Harbor Island where the Zim Chicago was scheduled to dock this afternoon.
Demonstrators began to arrive around 3:45pm and at their height numbered about seventy. What they lacked in numbers though, they made up for in unrestrained obnoxiousness. The pro-Hamas activists taunted and provoked police officers and harassed the hard working truckers and union workers who depend on the port for their livelihood.
Screaming in a glass shattering high decibel voice, a woman self identified as Mary Jane ordered truckers to turn off their vehicles and to honor their picket line. Her pleas were universally ignored as truckers and dock workers pressed through the thin cordon. Eventually law enforcement offered the terror-groupies the choice of getting off the street or facing arrest. One chose arrest, the rest reluctantly complied.
Roger Waters Is Disproportion Personified
Roger “Some of my best friends are self hating Jews” Waters has been at it again.
In a looooong, unbelievably dull article on the (predictably anti-Israel) Salon website called “Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters: Why Moral Perversity of U.S. Position in Gaza is Stunning,” Herr Waters proves once again that he is the biggest blowhard on the anti-Israel bandwagon.
First of all, I loved that they had to remind you who the guy is by identifying him as “Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters” in the title. Because most people today would wonder who the hell this “Roger Waters” guy is and why his opinion is worth 10-15 minutes of my precious time. Oh, that’s right, we should value the opinion of that guy who wrote some (admittedly terrific) music that still gets played a bit on classic rock stations, even though he hasn’t written a recognizable song since 1979 (the year The Wall was released) and has in fact been living off his magnum opus ever since.
