Khaled Arjah works for UNRWA near Nablus. He is probably a math teacher and appears to be a deputy principal.

Here are some of the wonderful, peaceful things he has posted on Facebook:

"Breaking the Silence" (meaning, rockets are more powerful than words)

"If we were to reveal what (weapons) we have, both enemies and friends would be surprised"

The banners of our victory have appeared, and the singing of the weapons has risen high

Allah said: "Enter upon them by the gate, for when you have entered it, you shall surely be victorious." (Quran 5:23)

Of course, all of these violate UN and UNRWA principles.

Of course, nothing will happen to fix the problem.

I have started to put all of these examples in a single tag, UNRWA Hate.

Emad Sbeihat works as a teacher for UNRWA in Jordan.

He loves the idea of unity - that is, unity between the terror groups from Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Fatah.

This peaceful UNRWA teacher has lots of photos of guns, too.
.
He also likes cartoons that portray Jews as frightened, sidelocked Haredim fearful of rockets:

No doubt this is all consistent with the vaunted human rights curriculum that UNRWA is so proud of.

This series could go on forever...

Nidal Abu Ghneim has taught at UNRWA schools in Jordan since 2002.

On his Facebook page, he features this graphic:

The map of British mandate Palestine and the AK-47 make up part of the number "67" for the number of years of Israel's existence.

The caption says ""What was taken by force will only be regained by force. The 67th anniversary of the Nakba."

Note that the gun is also a key, the symbol of "return." Which shows that when the Palestinian Arabs say they want to "return" to homes in Israel, they mean they intend to do it by force.

And this is what UNRWA teachers openly advocate, in explicit contradiction to UNRWA's stated policies. But they know that they won't be disciplined, so they have no fear of espousing their hate in public.

I have documented scores of these sorts of postings, and UNRWA refuses to do anything about it in a transparent fashion. But they claim that they take it very seriously.

Khaled Abu Walid Kadous is an UNRWA teacher in Nablus.

Even though he lives in the area of British Mandate Palestine spends a lot of time posting about "return" to destroy Israel.

He may be a wee bit biased. Which is supposedly grounds for disciplinary action by UNRWA, we are told.

Riiiight.

UPDATE: It turns out that he did not post these images but was tagged on them by someone else.

Kamal Zuhairi is an UNRWA teacher in Irbid, Jordan. He also likes to teach his kids to fight Israeli soldiers.

The caption calls for a third intifada.

This caption calls for bloody revenge.

These are UNRWA teachers, inciting violence under the UN name.

Hadeel Alrahami is an UNRWA teacher in Jordan.

She posted this on Facebook:

A Jew asked a Palestinian: "You're a Palestinian and I am a Jew , right?". The Palestinian answered: "Right". The Jew said: "I want to ask you a question, please answer: 'Why do we Jews burn our dead while you bury them in the ground?'" The Palestinian answered, full of pride: "Because treasure is buried and trash is always burnt".
''

(I shouldn't have to mention that Jewish law prohibits cremation.)

Well, well, well, UNRWA has another antisemitic teacher. If they would actually get rid of them all, who would be left?

(I have not once seen an UNRWA teacher say anything positive about Jews in the scores of Facebook pages I have examined.)

(h/t Ibn Boutros)

On August 19, in response to my findings that many UNRWA teachers were posting antisemitic and pro-terror posts on Facebook, spokesperson Chris Gunness said:

Where we find credible allegations of neutrality violations among our staff, we investigate and where it's appropriate we take disciplinary action up to and including dismissal. And that process is audited by our major donors.
 -Chris Gunness, UNRWA Spokesperson
August 19, 2015

How about when an UNRWA school itself regularly posts pro-terror and antisemitic posts?

The Facebook page of UNRWA's "Deir Yassin" co-ed secondary school in the Al-Buss camp in Lebanon, a school whose very name is dedicated to inciting hate against Jews, has many examples that not only violate UNRWA's supposed rules against bias, but obliterate them.

And it has been doing it for years.

For example, it  published this antisemitic poster on their Facebook page in the wake of the abduction and murder of Mohammed Abu Khdeir in July 2014:

It changes the Jewish star of th Israeli flag into a swastika and depicts religious Jews dancing in celebration at the burning of a child.

The graphic was posted before anyone was arrested for the crime, but after it was already roundly condemned by all parts of Israeli society.

The caption in Facebook says "Zionist terrorists." The use of silhouettes of dancing Hasidim show exactly what they mean when they say "Zionist."

The school also directly encourages its kids to use violence, as it posted this Land Day poster this year making those who hurl stones at Jews into heroes:

This more recent graphic, posted only last week, was more explicit in calling for students to fight Jews:

The caption says "Al-Aqsa has 'fityan' (a word meaning both "young men" and "heroes") to protect it. Be with them and one of them!"

Other examples include this post glorifying war:

In fact, this was the school's Facebook cover image last August:

But they also teach "human rights," so it's all OK!

Because antisemitism and encouraging kids to fight is a "human right" in UNRWA's twisted thinking.

Another photo on the site shows Hamas founder Ahmed Yassin as well.

These aren't the opinions of individual teachers. This is the official UNRWA school site on Facebook, where the graphic on every page header makes it clear that there is no room for Israel in their world:

If UNRWA really cared about bias as much as they claim, this entire school would be closed down. But instead they will tell the school that its Facebook page makes them look bad so they should take clean it up, and avoid doing anything to actually fix the problem.

Because this is all UNRWA does when confronted with the truth. It sweeps it under the rug.

Ata Aqel works at UNRWA in Jordan.

Last month, he decided to add this inspirational quote to his Facebook page:

"Be a friend, do not wish that you have a friend."

According to him, the author of this quote - which adds to its wisdom, of course - was none other than Adolf Hitler.

This is not the first time we have seen UNRWA workers turn to Hitler for their wisdom, even though none of the quotes seem to be real.

This Syrian teacher says that Hitler said "Some believe they are men simply because they are not women."

An UNRWA student counselor defended Hitler on his Facebook page, saying "no Jews were burned in the Holocaust and Hitler is being libeled by them, when the real Holocaust is in Gaza." Since I reported it he removed some of the worst posts and took out any association with UNRWA on his Facebook page.

This dean of Student Affairs for UNRWA was seen in 2013 to also quote Hitler, twice. Thoses post has been since taken down after the media picked up on my story.

And a geography teacher at UNRWA also found Hitler inspirational. This was also removed after I discovered it in January.

There's a pattern here....

Meet Reema Shalabi, an assistant director at UNRWA.

She passed an UNRWA course in "Leading for the Future:"

She is a big advocate of Palestinian kids having the "Right to Play:"

And here is the type of play she has in mind for teenage boys:

The text says "Ignite it and don't remain silent | #Third_Intifada"

Sounds like this UNRWA employee is advocating violence.

Since UNRWA claims to take these sorts of reports very seriously, and it would be hard to deny that Reema is an UNRWA employee this time, we'll see if anything is done about this.

Some of the previous postings I had found are no longer up on Facebook. Maybe the State Department message got UNRWA scared and they are considering my reports more "credible" than before.

(h/t Ibn Boutros)

Last month I showed that UNRWA teacher Mohammed Abu Staita posted this antisemitic cartoon on his Facebook page with the word bubble saying "Oh, Muslim, Oh, Servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him."

He's not the only UNRWA employee who likes this cartoon.

UNRWA administrative assistant Basel Mohamed, who lives in Jerusalem, has the same cartoon on his Facebook page.

The cartoon is still on the other teacher's page, by the way.

This is an UNRWA teacher in the West Bank who calls himself "Abu Laure" on Facebook.

He has posted this picture with the caption, "With this you will find the resistance appealing."

And he also posted this photo:

The text says:

"I wear a keffiyah and I dance, and with [the keffiya] I'll catch the Zionist's beard and sweep [the floor] with it."

Ironically, the photo is of an anti-Zionist.

But we all know what "Abu Laure" really means when he says he wants to sweep the floor with the "Zionist's" beard, don't we?

(h/t Ibn Boutros)

UPDATE: The page has been taken down.

Talal Abu Shawish is a Deputy Principal of an UNRWA school in Gaza.

He recently praised the PFLP's military training camps for women (and children):

He is also a fan of the PFLP terrorists of the 1970s, like Wadie Haddad, infamous for being behind a series of airplane hijackings.

The UNRWA principal lovingly goes into detail about all of Haddad's terror attacks.

Is there any chance that he doesn't teach the same to his students?

But UNRWA isn't concerned about that. They only care about when people like me reveal it.

In 2010, UNRWA put out a 52-page Request for Proposal seeking development of an e-learning course in Ethics and UNRWA Standards of Conduct.

Muhannad Alshatarat, an UNRWA teacher in Jordan, took this course in 2013. And he passed with flying colors!

The course impressed him so much that he posts pictures of Islamic Jihad terrorists on Facebook:

That course must be super-effective in teaching UNRWA employees how to think ethically.

Any journalists want to ask more than superficial questions about how UNRWA conducts itself when staffers show that they support violence and murder?

UPDATE: The photos have been removed but the Facebook page is still there.

AP reporter Matt Lee tweeted this statement from the State Department:

The role United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) plays in providing critical humanitarian assistance to more than 5 million Palestinian refugees is indispensable. All sides must respect the humanitarian role of UNRWA. and we expect UNRWA personnel to observe the strictest decorum and uphold its stated policy of neutrality so that it can carry out its critical mandate.
Our commitment to overseeing UNRWA’s neutrality is long-standing. and the State Department takes its responsibility for oversight ot UNRWA very seriously. Our oversight is more than an annual checklist exercise; :the State Department closely engages with UNRWA throughout the course of the year on all facets of UNRWA‘s programs, including issues related to the neutrality of UNRWA staff, operations,. and facilities.
We are aware that the UNRWA is undertaking internal investigations into allegations that UNRWA staff posted discriminatory messages on social media accounts. We have asked UNRWAto keep the United States informed of the findings of its investigation.
For any additional details regarding the investigations. we refer you to UNRWA.
Clearly the research I've done (and that UN Watch publicized) is having an effect. which makes it even more interesting that UNRWA-USA is blocking me on Twitter.

Of course, UNRWA's internal investiagation will be a joke, and the State Department does not have the desire to really hold UNRWA's feet to the fire of fulfilling its mandate. This is all theatre that we've seen before - UNRWA will issue a statement that they take these thing seriously, maybe they will slap the wrists of some of the employees that I discovered with the worst antisemitic messages (the state Department pointedly does not mention the pro-terror Facebook posts that I discovered) and then everyone will breathe easier that the status quo has returned. The fundamental problems at UNRWA will not be solved.

But this is start.

UPDATE: There is as of yet nothing on the UNRWA site about this.

Friday, September 11, 2015

Hasan Musleh is an UNRWA teacher in Jordan.

Of course he teaches his children in class that they will one day "return" to the areas of British Mandate Palestine that are in Israel today. Here's the blackboard of his classroom with the representation of a key that is symbolic of this desire to "return": On the board he wrote "15th of May 1948," which he calls Nakba Day,

And how is this "return" supposed to be accomplished?

He answers that on his Facebook pages as well, with his ideal display of unity:

The three major terror groups of Fatah, Islamic Jihad and Hamas are represented here.

Does UNRWA expect people to believe that Musleh doesn't teach his students the message of the poster?

(h/t Ibn Boutros)

UPDATE: These specific photos have been taken down, but Musleh still has others that show that he believes in violence:

Thursday, September 10, 2015

From the Facebook page of UNRWA Training Coordinator Mohammad R. El Madhoun:

Saying that Palestinian Arabs are suffering a "Holocaust" is antisemitism, pure and simple.

Madhoun actually lives in Gaza. Here is a photo of him in a ghetto taken within a few weeks of the end of the Gaza war. Notice his emaciated body.

And here are his kids being transported to the death camps to be gassed and cremated:

Not to mention that he posts a somber video of Gazans gathering in stunned, tearful memory of this terrible genocide on the morrow of the Gaza war.

Calling anything that ever happened to Palestinian Arabs a "Holocaust" is meant to trivialize the real Holocaust and to convey the message that Jews are Nazis.  It is a pure example of antisemitism.

And UNRWA teaches their kids this perverted inversion of reality.

How do I know?

Because Mohammed learned his hate from his mother, who was a head teacher at UNRWA as well.

Yet Chris Gunness, UNRWA's spokesperson who has his own issues with Jews, keeps telling every reporter that calls him (including one from yesterday) that UNRWA takes all credible reports of violations of neutrality seriously and condemns all forms of racism. (I'm fairly certain he always adds the word "credible" as an excuse to ignore my documented proof of UNRWA staffers' hate by pretending that this blog is not credible.)

When will a reporter follow up and ask him about the scores of examples that I have been publishing daily for the past several weeks, plus additional ones I've been tweeting? When will someone rub his lies in his face so the world can see what a sickening, hateful organization UNRWA has turned into?

Wednesday, September 09, 2015

UNRWA worker Hassan Alaer likes Hamas, as his Facebook page shows.

But he really hates Jews, and he likes to make fun of terror attacks on them,

Here's one that's even worse:

Will UNRWA discipline him? Not if they tolerate antisemitism from its own spokesperson.

I tweeted these cartoons to all UNRWA accounts on Sunday asking them to contact me if they want to find out the name of the employee who posted this, and I haven't heard any response. The assertion that UNRWA takes these kinds of reports seriously has been shown to be a sham.

Unless UNRWA's donors speak up and insist on full transparency for UNRWA's processes on how they deal with the scores of examples of such hate that I've uncovered, this sham will continue.

You can take action: UN Watch has published a form to send emails to major officials asking to investigate these types of posts.

I have so many examples that I cannot even post them all. I started tweeting some additional ones, like this.

This is as blatant as it gets.

UNRWA's Chris Gunness just tweeted two separate articles from the antisemitic hate site Mondoweiss. In both cases his tweets have a single purpose: to denigrate Jews.

Not Zionists - Jews.

The first one was this:

His link is to Mondoweiss:

But the article, from JTA, was against the fringe of Jews who blamed Carter's cancer on his political positions. It quotes a leading Orthodox Rabbi in opposing such noxious views:
“Carter is not the only one dying from cancer. People in my own family were victims; pious and holy individuals I knew personally were targets of agonizing final ailments. But the Torah taught us not to dare make judgments based on equating someone’s suffering with sin and be guilty of the crime of the friends of Job.”
The article concludes by mocking those Jews (and Christians) who make such claims:
One can only guess how those who believe Jimmy Carter’s cancer is divine retribution are explaining the 90-plus years he has lived in relatively good health, trotting around the globe, selling books and maintaining a position of great influence.
Mondoweiss, of course, misrepresents the article by 180 degrees. JTA was exposing something ugly in a tiny outlier of the Jewish community and mocking it, and the Mondoweiss hate site pretended that JTA and JPost were supporting the ridiculous claims.

Gunness went further, and pretended that "leading newspaper" The Jerusalem Post - which he had called to boycott in the past - was reporting as news that Carter's cancer is retribution from God. The former BBC reporter didn't even bother reading the original source: he relied on hate site Mondoweiss to misrepresent the article. Anyone reading the Mondoweiss article would believe that Jews in general and Jewish publications hold these views.

This is antisemitism, pushed by Chris Gunness.

Gunness then apparently decided that Mondoweiss is the type of site that he can get all of his news from when looking for reasons to attack Jews. Again, not Zionist - Jews.

He dug up a Mondoweiss article that was over a year old:

What happened was this: The Times of Israel allowed bloggers to post pretty much whatever they wanted, without editorial oversight. One guy posted a highly offensive article saying that sometimes genocide is allowed under Jewish law. Both TOI and the 5 Towns Jewish Times, where it was also published, took down the article as soon as they realized what it said, and apologized for not overseeing the online publishing process better. They all agree that the article was noxious. even the author apologized within hours of the event.

Mondoweiss reprinted the article that practically all Jews including Orthodox Jews find reprehensible, with the explanation that it is "representative of part of the discourse in the American Jewish community" - in other words, purely to smear Jews.

Gunness decided today that this year old antisemitic slander is worth publicizing, because Gunness obviously believes that Jews are the problem and he, like his heroes at Mondoweiss, must shine a light on how ugly they are.

But Gunness goes further. Mondoweiss at least admits that the outlets removed the stories in very short order, and apologized. Gunness' tweets are meant to make his followers believe that these viewpoints - and every community has offensive fringe viewpoints - are widely held by religious Jews. And he is attackign the Times of Israel which acted quickly and responsibly to fix its flawed processes that allowed bloggers to post without editor oversight.

Why would Gunness bring this episode up now, stripped of context, if not to publicize his hate for Jews via Mondoweiss' bile?

Mondoweiss' antisemitism is clear. No less an anti-Zionist icon as MJ Rosenberg says it explicitly. it has been documented in The Atlantic. David Bernstein in a Washington Post Volokh Conspiracy blog gives many more examples.

And this hate site is now Chris Gunness' favorite place to link to, based on his last week of tweets.

In both these stories the Jewish community, including the Orthodox Jewish community, immediately responded forcefully against the odious views of a tiny minority.

In both these stories Chris Gunness of UNRWA twists the facts to make it appear that Jews are evil and that fringe viewpoints are mainstream.

This is antisemitism by any definition.

The online petition to investigate Gunness should go from 1000 signatures to 100,000 based on this explicit hate being  promulgated not by Palestinian Arab employees of UNRWA but by a former BBC reporter who is UNRWA's public face. His hypocrisy is stunning and his hate is nauseating.

There is absolutely no excuse for a UN employee to act this way

Chris Gunness must be fired immediately.

UPDATE: Gunness deleted the tweets without apology.
