Algerian media spinning insane lies about Morocco's relations with Israel

Algerian media has been reporting that Amr Moussa, former Secretary-General of the Arab League and former Egyptian Foreign Minister, has been accusing Morocco of sending soldiers to fight in Gaza, of accepting Israelis as fighters in its own army, and other bizarre accusations.

I cannot find any original source for the accusations, and Algeria's hate for Morocco is extensive and well-known. It is  probably a fabrication. Still, it is worth examining the accusations just to get an idea of how Arabic media is used as propaganda outlets as for news.

In an article, Moussa stated, "It is true that the UAE and Bahrain have moved beyond normalization with the Israeli occupation state to an openly declared alliance, but the danger facing Morocco is more complex and far deeper."

Moussa emphasized that Morocco is witnessing a "dangerous Zionization process" extending across various state institutions, from education and the economy to military and religious cooperation. He pointed to a project granting Moroccan citizenship to Israeli officers of Moroccan origin, enabling them to hold sensitive positions and move freely within neighboring countries as Moroccans, posing a strategic threat to regional security.

He also highlighted a new law allowing Moroccan Jews to reclaim their properties, noting that judicial decisions have been issued to evict Moroccan citizens from their homes and lands in favor of Jews who previously resided in the country. This has raised significant concerns about the implications of this step on Morocco’s social and economic fabric.

Regarding military cooperation, Moussa revealed the establishment of an "Israeli military base" in the area separating the city of Melilla from the Algerian border, describing it as a dangerous provocation to both Algeria and Spain. He also claimed that 5,000 Moroccan soldiers participated in the war on Gaza, alongside Morocco supplying Israel with weapons used in the aggression against Palestinians.

Moussa concluded his statements with sharp criticism of the Moroccan regime, arguing that it has become a "pliable tool" in Israel’s hands, exploiting the Western Sahara issue to justify normalization agreements and military cooperation. He sarcastically questioned the contradiction between Morocco’s official rhetoric supporting the Palestinian cause and the reality of its growing cooperation with the Israeli occupation.
Needless to say, there is no evidence for any of this.

Some social media users are saying that Amr Moussa immediately denied writing any such article, but I cannot find the denials. While I've seen prominent Arab politicians say repeat the most outlandish rumors as fact when it comes to Israel, this one does not seem to be one of them. Rather, it shows how little the truth matters in mainstream Arabic language media and how the state can use the medisa to spread their own misinformation.
