Palestine Press Agency reports that Hamas has announced that the population of the Gaza Strip is at nearly 2 million people.
This is some half a million higher than the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics' number, which was less than 1.4 million in 2007.
Demographic inflation is nothing new in the territories. It is a little ironic that the people who scream "genocide" the loudest are the same ones whose demographic claims contradict that epithet the most.
