As for the Gaza Strip, where Hamas, not the Fatah-controlled PA, hold power, Abbas said that more than half the PA's budget still goes to the Strip.This statistic begs for more detail. Is the PA still paying salaries of the "police" in Gaza? How much money ends up in the hands of terror groups? Where is all of that vaunted international oversight and transparency in the PA budget? Is this the decision of the "moderate" Fayyad? Is the PA actively trying to court Hamas with cash?
It certainly looks like we now know where Hamas is getting much of its money to smuggle weapons and explosives into Gaza.
